basing episodes off archie comic?

the 2003 show for a good chuck of it was infamous for apapting classic mirage storylines into animation so i had a thought if thier trying to recapture some of the magic of the old toon without going too silly why not do some episodes on arcs and storylines in the archie comics of course i really never read that comic but i heard good things about it on this board.

of course no krang or bebop and rocksteady might cause a problem.

This show isn't based on one particular old TMNT universe.

It may use bits and pieces of old characters, but otherwise its all new.

It would be very clever if some of these Archie plots were used (provided that the proper characters are used); it would add some value to those issues and bring those readers into the show. With this idea, it seems like continuity won't be quite as important as in the 4kids, but I'd like to have some around (a story arc a season, and of course proper premieres and finales).

At any rate, that's not a bad idea. Although I don't get why the new show couldn't do both (what you suggest AND still contain Krang/Bebop/Rocksteady), actually.

I don't even like calling it the Fred Wolf series. For me its, "the original series" ala how people refer to the first Star Trek.

I'm hoping it's a mix.

The title makes it appear like it will be based on the Mirage comics (somewhat), with a bit of Archie comics, and maybe a mix of the new IDW issues. I wouldn't mind if they did that.

I'm just saying this may not be on the Archie series. It doesn't look like it anyway. Just by looking at the OT, it seems those plotlines could've been used for the Archie series. What do you think?

It would have made a good arc. Too bad it was relegated to one issue of back story. :(
