If anyone knows or doesn't know, Mirage has a copy of the TMNT book 1 '09 trade up. I'm just surprised 'cause all this time 2 years ago they said their out of it and now one is up on ebay.

I know these may or may not be from Peter's collection, but why is there one available all of a sudden unless Peter or someone at Mirage had an extra one sitting around. Even the old TMNT Collected Books 6 & 7 trades are offered but seperately from the TMNT collected books 2-5. At least Mirage knows which ones have demand and slight rarity. But these last two trades as well were never at Mirages store for so long. I'm assuming Peter had extras lying around as well. He really is clean housing himself of the TMNT or he still has his own single copies he's keeping at least I hope.

Mirage has been cycling most if not all of these through eBay for months now.

Yep; the rarer stuff comes from Pete's own collection; the rest of the stuff is backstock like wild said.

Mirage had nearly every book in stock all these years, albeit in varying amounts.

It seems so they have some items to varying degrees.

No, they really did. My personal collection can personally vouch for it.

Does anyone know what the TMNT Collected Book 1 2009 went for? I forgot to check up on it. Just curious.

I don't understand wanting to fork over so much when the IDW books are almost out. The printing quality isn't particularly good, and you can get the Fugitoid one-shot in its original size for practically pennies.

It pretty much has to do with being Mirage's last trade, only an estimated 800 or so were printed IIRC, and as you mentioned, it's the only one to contain the Fugitoid one-shot.

The price has ratcheted down some in the past months, but it's performance on the secondary market show why with Turtles, often times getting it when it's new is the best way to go. :)

Thanks. I don't need it just curious what it went for. Yes it has sentimental value for being Mirages last edition of the mega trade. Yes the value probably has dropped due to the impending IDW HC's. This is something I hope IDW does one like this one day instead of the split two HC's. I mean they did the John Byrne Next Men into a B&W mega trade. Its not a big deal for TMNT being put back into the lower grade paper. Thats how they were anyway on the original printed comics. To Abnormal Freak, exactly how was the Mirage trade in bad print quality? I only hated the spine being so weak that it could split. I certainly don't recommend opening it too wide.

Completionists mang! I can't tell you how many reprints of early Mirage issues I have.

I've noticed their grading descriptions say "Uncirculated but not pristine"- overall in the lower 9 range of the CGC scale. I would definately save the seller's recipt/label on the item when buying from these items as having an issue with proof from the actual publisher may bring additional value to them, and I'm noticing a bit of a premium compared to ordinary sellers. But these auctions make me cry because I'm almost sure this will be the last reference related to TMNT as it all began at Mirage, and after the warehouse is clean, Mirage will just be in the history pages. You see the name "Mirage" on the credits in the movies and first two cartoon series, which will always remain popular, so now is the time to catch Mirage's last hurrah.

A lot of the Mirage stuff sold on ebay comes with a certificate. And if it doesn't you can email Dan and request one.

It's not the paper but just the quality which the comics were scanned. I have the second print of the book from I believe 1990 and it looks a lot better. Clearer lines and that, due to a better way of printing. Mirage just never did very well the whole "scan a comic and reprint it" thing—an issue of the Tales of the TMNT Vol. 1 second print trade is especially bad, with line art and toning disappearing entirely.
