There are some episodes that I feel were there just to boost the season to 26 episodes, with no intention of moving the story forward or adding to character development. Such as: Fallen Angel, Garbageman, The Unconvincing Turtle Titan, Reflections, Junklantis, April's Artifact, Return of the Justice Force, Time Travails, The People's Choice, A Wing and a Prayer, All Hallows Thieves, Trouble with Augie, and Return of Savanti 1 and 2. So, my list is sorta long.

The Unconvincing Turtle Titan was decent, because it capped Mikey's superhero obsession well, since he learned he could do just as much good from the shadows. To bad they destroyed that bit of character development by making more Turtle Titan episodes.

I don't see the problem with those episodes. If anything they're a nice break from all the Shredder episodes and other major events.

It reminds me of the original cartoon. Sometimes the Turtles would just have an adventure that had nothing to do with Shredder/Krang at all. The 2k3 series also had the Turtles fight many one-off characters in isolated events.

The whole Ninja Tribunal story arc I could have live without. Not only the ancient-demon-that-about-to-awake plot was stupid and way too anime-ish, but they had to name him The Shredder as well. There was cool episodes with little turtles and the end to Nano's arc, of course, but still.

Season 2: Reflections. City at War. April's Artifact. Return of the Justice Force. (All are just insulting episodes)

Season 4: Bad Day. Still Nobody. The Trouble with Augie. (None of these are very creative or executed well at all.)

I have to admit though, the battle in Saki's throne room (Enter the Dragons Part 1) was pretty good, and the battle between the Foot Clan and Saki.

I don't see the point in complaining about what are essentially, "filler episodes," as every show has them.

Some of them aren't as good as the other episodes, but its nice to see the Turtles not constantly battle Shredder or any other major threat in an episode.

I wish they would make more episodes with normal gangsters like the OT did. Shame after City at War I don't believe those gangsters ever reappear.

I mean in BttS Splinter's recomposition and April and Casey's wedding should have been 2 separate episodes, not rushed into one sloppy one. And don't get me started on all the loose ends in >>.

I'd personally say any episode not based on any comic, with a few exceptions such as Secret Origins since I find it had a unique storyline that worked well, along with the Ninja Tribunal episodes as I find that an interesting, independent arc covering parts of Season 4 and all of Season 5, and there series could have ended right there (after having stuff like Turtles Forever of course). That way you can follow the episodes in the same continuity as the Mirage universe. Anything else might as well be better suited for a more generic, Fred Wolf-type universe.

Back to the Sewers really should have been 26 episodes like FF, that way there would have been more time to flesh things out. Shame the budget of the show was shrinking at the time which is why they likely only did 13 eps.

The show for the most part really didn't have what I would consider "bad episodes". There were some episodes that I wasn't quite as interested in. "The King", the first couple of episodes featuring the Garbageman, the first couple of episodes featuring Nano, "The Peoples Choice", "Sons Of The Silent Age" were all episodes that I found to be a little boring. But pretty much the whole series was a very well produced product.

They also had planned a 3rd that was thankfully never made because it also sounded absolutely stupid.

The first Garbageman episode has a few funny moments that don't involve the Garbageman and I do find it watchable for that reason, but it still was in my mind one of the weakest season 1 episodes.

I will totally give you that, I did enjoy the characters final appearance, but I think all of his annoying shrieking from his first two appearances still haunts me to this day :twink:

Also someone mentioned Sons of the Silent Age. That episode is one of the most disappointing to me (following the hot mess that was the City at War episodes). I just wish they could have found a better balance that it could have maintained some sort of quality from the comic. The ending of that comic is probably one of my favorite moments from Turtles, it's just so beautiful and poignant and sad and I know probably too heavy for a kids show, but it just completely turned me off to the TV adaption that it changed so much.

I can see where your coming from, to me i really enjoyed it. Everything came together...and yes to me knowing the origin of the original Shredder made sense since they planned out the Utrom Shredder, we need to know how he got that gimmick. At first i hated the idea once i knew, but it all worked out in the end.

I could've basically done without the Garbageman episodes and FF. BTTS, while better than FF, wasn't as good as seasons 1-5 for me. I think the whole problem with it was the fact that they had to go after Splinter's data bits. I just didn't like that idea.

Bad Day. It was an awesome episode, but it ruined the feeling of Shredder being 'gone' and it made the return of the Shredder (now Karai) in Scion of The Shredder (i think) seem less cool, because we had that kinda scene in Bad Day already.

I enjoyed most of the show, but my list is somewhat long, and deals with the direction the show took--while I still liked it, after a point I would have liked it to go in a different direction instead. So for a generalized answer:

*Any of the episodes prolonging the Shredder's existence by making him an Utrom. At the time, it was kind of interesting to see him go way back and keep the threat on the turtles, but in retrospect I wish they hadn't. When they beheaded him, he should have stayed dead, as the show had many other villains that were far more interesting and deserved more time in the spotlight. I also liked the new backstory they wrote for Karai, which seemed to show that Shredder had a human side, but then they ruined all of that completely by prolonging the Shredder's existence and making it clear that he was a complete monster, which in turn turned Karai from an interesting wildcard into an unreasonable fascist. No joke; back before 4Kids uploaded it to their site I watched some of this series on Youtube, and you would be surprised how many people commented on how they would love to torture Karai and then kill her. I know Youtube commentators have a reputation for stupidity, but I kind of agreed with them there. The worst it got was "Same as it Never Was." Sorry; I know a lot of people love that episode, but I hate it as it's the final straw to everything I grew to hate about the direction the show took.

*The Planet Racers crossover, but only because of its stupid "Cheaters Never Win and Winners Never Cheat" moral. Change that and I'd be fine with it.

*Any of the stuff with the Ancient One. I hated that character, hated the stereotypical, hokey, mystical lessons about how negative feelings are a curse and need to be gotten rid of, and I hated it for the same reason I hated their transformation of the Shredder into a dark, monstorous bogeyman, because that was the beginning of the turtles' transformation into beings of pure virtue and light. Which brings us to...

*The entire Lost Season. There is so, incredibly much despicable about this that I don't know where to start. It's a sellout to the Naruto crowd, it has the same "Asian superstition is the most powerful thing in the world" trope that I couldn't stand in numerous anime and Jackie Chan Adventures, it takes the turtles away from what they're supposed to be by giving them superpowers and flashy transformations (at least Chojin Densetsu had a sense of humor about it), it retains a lot of the problems of the Utrom Shredder arc by creating another Shredder and there's probably more stuff I missed.

Believe it or not, Fast Forward does not make this list at all. It certainly isn't the direction I wanted for this show, but I found it a lot more bearable than any of the previous directions that I outright hated. That said, I certainly would have handled it differently. I'm not sure that series really needed Cody, or references to Halo.

*Back to the Sewers, however, does. Or at least most of it. I didn't like that they sacrificed viral to create yet another version of Shredder, the "beam into cyberspace" theme felt kind of dorky, and frankly the whole plot seemed very tacked on to the rest of the series. Aside from "Wedding Bells and Bytes," nothing in Back to the Sewers really feels relevent to anything from prior seasons. But about season 5 being a sell out to the naruto fanbase, it strikes me more as last attempt to push 2k3 onto the mainstage. They already used a lot of magic in the Battle Nexus and through out the rest of the storyline using chi ect.... I dont think it was a sell out to the Naruto fans

At the start of the series they only had season 1 and two planned out. After that they just planned out one season at a time.

I can't stand the Battle Nexus, it sounds so stupid to teleport them to some strange planet. Archie's Stump Asteroid at least not considered winners like the greatest warrior in all time. Probably just put in as an excuse to some butt-kicking with strange monsters (or sell the video game), without any good storylines like "City at War".

Jst watched this ep last nite and really enjoyed it. Ive watched a full 3 seasons now in the past couple of months and the shows I think I would hate I actually enjoyed every episode!!!!! so far....

They could do without some stuff like the Ninja Tribunal, and these emeralds and the demon Shredder when they could call for those dragons, and New York City was almost totally destroyed, all was like some godzilla stuff, too far away from the TMNT usually having to hide in the dark shaddows... The same when Beijing was lifted away. Back to the Sewer and Cyber Shredder was also bad.

The 2003 show was best before "Secret Origins". Season 3 was worse, but season 4 was actually very nice, with the rural New England setting, Karai, and angry Leonardo.
