Hey all of you in SF/South Bay area of California, the independent theater I run in Downtown San Jose has an ongoing cult movie series, and I convinced them to show the first live action TMNT movie! Here are the details:

Camera 3 Entertainment (w/Psycho Donuts!)
288 S. Second Street,
San Jose, CA 95113

March 15 @9:30pm
March 17 @Midnight
All tickets are $7.50!

Last time we showed this, we had a great turnout with many crazed fans dressed up as turtles! Hopefully we are getting a 35mm film print too so it'll be as authentic as it gets!

I'm sorry, was it inappropriate of me to post this? I thought it would be a win-win situation for people to get a chance to see this on the big screen again. I know I'm excited, but I didn't mean to be disrespectful and will take it down if it is...

I'd say you should add to the thread title that it's just in that one location, so that no one else gets their hopes up that it's a nation-wide rerelease, like what was done w/ Ghostbusters last month. People who don't feel duped are more likely to plan a road-trip, ya know.

Got it, sorry about that! Just wanted to be clear, I thought posting about it at all was seen as disrespectful soliciting when I just thought this is something people could get excited about... Didn't realize about the misleading title. Will change right away... when I figure out how. I'm pretty new to this forum stuff!

Well, it's within driving distance of me, but it's also four months away. We'll see.

New York would certainly be an appropriate place to do it! I'm certainly sympathetic and consider myself lucky to have a job which lets me get away with doing special events like this. I'm sure New York, being the cultural hot spot it is, will have something eventually. I didn't really pay attention to how many small/specialty theaters there were around my area until I started working in one! It's also why it's hard to keep them in business when everyone just goes to AMC where they don't usually cater to special interests. I hope I'm not causing too many bad feelings by promoting this screening here!

Hey Tony, I sent you a private message. Let me know if you received it because I got nothing in my sent folder and I'm still relatively green to how forums work!

The one in April of 2009 for the 25th anniversary was awesome, you should've been there!

I'm about 40 minutes away. I just may try and make this. Thanks Matches! Cool to know there are other technodrome members in the Bay Area. Yee! haha

I'm thinking it's going to be a good turnout and a lot of fun! For some reason, the turtles always get a visible reaction out of people, moreso than any of our other movies. I think it's because it's a movie people remember fondly of but don't expect to see in a special event, as opposed to movies like Back To The Future, which always gets love in retro-screenings. Hopefully you can make out and enjoy what's going on at our little theater! I'm going to try to get "The Dark Knight Returns" DC Animated Movie to play at our theater to coincide with the new Chris Nolan movie! I KNOW comic fans will be down for that.

Just one last quick update since this is tomorrow: I was able to convince Pizza My Heart to donate some pies to this event (I mean, I can't really imagine a better partnership)! So anyone who shows up early just might be able to grab a slice on the way into the movie! We also got the turtle van on display in the street. Some of you may have seen him around these boards. Anyway, it's definitely gonna be a blast! We had a good turnout and enthusiasm last night and I expect tomorrow to only be better. Hopefully we don't get rained on!

Hey that was tons of fun. Too bad you didn't get that 35MM print. Hope you guys do the second one. Loved the little questions you asked. Made me feel like a massive nerd for knowing all the answers.

I'll be there for Fight Club! Might be coming out there more often depending on what you show.
