Use of "chi" in this show

Now I'm not saying anything like Naruto or Street fight or Dbz. But who would like to see the TMNT use some of the more "mystical" teachings of ninjitsu?

I think a lot of people would be against that because they hated The Lost Season. I wouldn't mind it, but I would like for it to be used in a logical fashion and maybe not have it used right away. However, I believe that since this show is a new interpretation of the Turtles, I think I'd want something a bit different that we haven't seen before. We've already seen that in The Lost Season.

I loved the lost season but I prefer the turtles to fight only with real world hand to hand or weapons. I dont mind if their enemies use mystical powers it adds challenge to the fights.

I didn't hate the lost season. The use of chi is what you would call a tradition in some shows or movies that feature either kung fu or in this case ninjutsu. If the turtles can fight aliens, mutants, cyborgs, and other werid things, why can they not use chi:tcool:

I didn't exactly hate the Lost Season, but I opposed the direction it took vehemently; to the point that I consider the decision to skip to Fast Forward the right one. It's the same sort of mystical mumbo jumbo that's made many recent cartoons unwatchable for me, and frankly it seemed like they were trying to cash in on Naruto. No offense to Naruto, even if trying to read it literally put me to sleep, but it's pretty pathetic that a show from Japan can get Ninjutsu so wrong. Ninjas aren't bright, colorful, magical superheroes; they are shadowy warriors who use guerilla tactics. That TMNT sold out to the hokey portrayal popular at the time is extra insulting because they got it right in earlier seasons, with plenty moments of the turtles sneaking through the shadows and across roofs.

The new show should steer clear of all that. Mysticism should be limited to communication on the astral plane at the very most--and not if it's taught to them by a Mary-Sue.

It might be interesting if the Foot used it but not the TMNT even though it is apart of ninjutsu.

I happen to really like DBZ, but...yeah...I don't want that in my Turtles. It should stay with DBZ. :lol:

I could be okay with them like...being able to 'feel' an opponent out. Not actually determining how strong they are (other than a vague feeling maybe, like an intuition), or something though. Sort of a 'sixth sense' if you will.

I'd like to wait and see how Nick handles the cartoon first before wanting them to use chi. A lot of people who hated the Lost Season probably won't like that, and I'd rather that they didn't use it right away. I didn't hate TLS at all. In fact, I liked it. I think my concern is if they do use chi that it might not be handled correctly. Plus, I don't want TMNT to be all about mysticism at first. If they want to use chi later on as they learn more, that's fine. But at first, they should just stick to hand-to-hand combat.
