View Full Version : Things from the TMNT movie-verse you'd like to see in the IDW comic

There's not much I'd be interested in seeing brought over to the IDW comic from the movies, but I'm curious what's the general consensus from other fans.
I mean, if push came to shove I guess I wouldn't mind a Tatsu that's a real badass, but that's about it.

Went with Tatsu, Tokka and Rahzar. Almost went with Keno too, but then I remembered that they eventually befriend a pizza boy in this series. I think he's name's supposed to be named Woody.

From the moment I heard there would be other mutants aside from the turtles in this series, my thoughts immediately went to Tokka and Rahzar. I seriously hope they show up in the book someday!
Tatsu as Shredder's right hand man would also be a great treat!

Huh. I also went with Tatsu, Tokka and Rahzar.
In regards to Tatsu, I like the idea of Shredder having a competent right hand man he can delegate tasks to, so its more the archetype of the character I support than Tatsu-himself. He didn't really do or say much in the movies and his role in the 4Kids cartoon was amicably filled by Hun. But I would like to see him reimagined into a stronger character.
As for Tokka and Rahzar, all they've ever been in any universe is mindless mutant muscle and I'm okay with that. Their strength has always been in their cool character designs and some times you just need a little of that, especially if you're going with dumb henchmen. Just don't make them "babies".

My first thought was "Yoshi," then I remembered it was a reference to that kid from the 3rd movie and not a dinosaur with a voracious appetite.
Tatsu would be awesome. Tokka and Rahzar would also be a ton of fun!

If they have to use Tokka and/or Rahzar, I would hope that they would be retooled to be neither dumb or babies.

Rahzar/Tokka appeared in one episode of the original cartoon, and they were neither dumb nor babies in it, amazingly.
Rahzar was quite intelligent and both he and Tokka spoke proper english.
Too bad they only appeared in one episode.

I'd take all of them provided they were done right. I wish we were having Keno instead of this "Woody" character...
Tatsu is my #1 choice, but I also put in votes for Tokka/Rahzar, Prof. Perry, and Lord Norinaga.
Tatsu is a G, T&R are awesome obviously, Perry is a cool dude, I like the idea of the turtles having a lab tech friend, and Norinaga is just rad.
I like shogun era bad guys 'n stuff, kinda keeps the theme and also allows room for time traveling.

Tatsu, Tokka, Rahzar for me as well.
Tatsu being the first choice.
Great character.

If they could somehow put Karai's voice from TMNT into the comic, I would have voted for that.
But yeah, Tatsu for me as well. Perry would be cool if they would do his Utrom reveal.

Rahzar and Tokka always kind of worked as secondary mutant henchmen after Rocksteady and Bebop.
Plus I just love Rahzar's design in particular. He could be redesigned to look like a really ferocious wolf and such.

Honorable mention Keno and Danny just as background voices in a warehouse the TMNT have to get in to or something like that.

I went with Tatsu, but I can't help but think that Keno would make an excellent yang to Casey's yin if done right. That would open up doors for Mikey & Raph to develop a closer bond, too.
All likelihood though, the way IDW seems to be slowly incorporating ideas that stemmed from the more OT oriented things...I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some sort of Tokka and/or Rahzar creature in the future. I don't think Old Hob is the last mutated animal villain we're seeing.
I have money on Danny not getting any votes. Probably the worst movie character up there. Him or the statues from TMNT.

OK, maybe I could be convinced into a new take on SuperShredder...

Who is this Woody character you are referring to? Is he/she going to be in the IDW comics?

All we know so far is that the turtles will eventually befriend a pizza boy named Woody in IDW.

I'd never heard of this. Sounds a little trite but I'm willing to see what's in store.

Tatsu was criminal underused in the movies as is. I'd love to see him again.

IDW TMNT ashcan.
"...and Woody, a clueless pizza guy who befriends the Turtles."
Taken from Toms answer about returning characters & new faces. 3rd page of the interview in the second half of the book.

But...knowing Tom's sense of humor, now that he's a member here, could he be joking?

So Woody is basically like Keno from the second movie?
"What are you, night security?"
"Nah, actually I'm uh...pizza delivery."
But yeah, Rahzar/Tokka showing up would be awesome.

It's not listed, but how about if Charles Pennington returns as April's boss?
I voted for Super Shredder because it would love to see a comic take on the ultimate villain.

Is Super Shredder basically what a human would mutate into if they weren't turned into an animal?
All Shredder did was basically grow 9 feet tall and become more muscular in the movie. I liked it in the videogames better, where Super Shredder was shooting out fire and ice beams, as well as mutagen balls that de-mutated the Turtles. Thank you, Konami.

I love the atmosphere of the 1st movie they could borrow from that and i'd be in heaven. but character-wise there isnt a single original character i would want them to incorporate

Perhaps a Tatsu type character as the shredders right hand man. I am not terribly interested in seeing much of anything from the movies perhaps some similar characters givin different situations depending on what the story calls for.

Have you guys ever seen all the different fanart of Rahzar and Tokka?
Seriously, these two characters deserve a comeback. People have redesigned them constantly in fanart online and they look awesome in so many ways.
