View Full Version : The Official Christmas Thread
Hey everyone!
Christmas is only a week away, and I thought I'd get the thread started as we have one every year about what we got, what we did, etc. Very much looking forward to this year's Christmas, as last year's was pretty horrible. Working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is no fun at all. So let's get this started with a classic: We Wish You a Turtle Christmas!

Happy Holidays early in case I'm not on this weekend. I'm not sure what's going to happen this year for Christmas. We're not sure if my grandparents are coming or not. It all depends on how Grandpa feels as it's a day to day thing with him. Last week he had three good days, but this week he started out fine and then felt bad. But if they can't come, Mom's going to go and give them their gifts anyway. We got Grandpa a massage chair for his back and some pickled herring. For Grandma we got her a purse (that my mom originally bought for herself but decided to give it to Grandma instead, which is neat), some White Diamonds perfume, and some candy.
We also got a lot of presents for my sister's fiance's boys, though I can't name them all. Let's just say they got a lot of stuff they wanted.
We got my sis some pajamas and a purse and her fiance is getting a tool set for his house since he normally has to get tools from the shop if he wants to fix anything. He works at an auto shop.
We got my brother a George Foreman Grill, but we're not sure if he's coming or not. Mom's going to get him some socks too, as he always seems to need them.
I haven't gotten my BF anything yet, but I'm planning on getting him a gift card and some candy since he didn't want anything in particular this year. He hasn't let me know when we're getting together, but I assume it'll be after the holidays, which is fine with me.

Gonna celebrate with the family on my father's side, as a genuine B*****d I celebrate every second Yule with my father, and vice versa with my mother.
I haven't seen my father and my brother's for a long time, so that will be very nice. And I'll see my grand parents and aunts and cousins. And there will be lots of great food
And second Yule day I'm off to celebrate my other grand father's birthday
Well, I already got my gift. Plus, I managed to score some toys for my nieces and nephews, thanks to my buddy who works at the hospital.
Not much plans besides kickin' it with the family. I wanted to visit my grandma and my dad in Houston, but we'll see what happens.

Still waiting for my last few catalogs orders to come in, then I'll be finished shopping. We're gonna have a small family thing at our house. We just got our tree and everything up today, and now we just need some snow to make it all right.
Most of THIS week, however, is going to be spent preparing for the vigil with my kids choir. We're all gonna be singing and having a great time.... :) It's my first year with a choir of my own, and it's going SO well.

I'm glad it's going well for you so far Machias! I'm sure your choir will sound amazing! :)
My plans this year are less exciting than last year. Ram Bam & I will be going to my parent's place for Christmas Eve and then we'll be having Christmas Dinner @ my sister's. Then on Boxing Day we'll be going to his mom's place.........and I will be drinking heavily to block out all the fam drama that comes along with boxing day. ;)

Plan on spending Christmas day at my grandparents new house. Should be interesting to see how all of the family will fit into the small place? From there the usual will ensue, consisting of eating and conversing.

(speaking with British accent) I know what Master Splinter should've got for Christmas, a gong!
Butchered lyrics, Leo singing raegae, Mikey as an opera singer? Totally bogus. One of the worst Christmas ideas ever.
It's very shocking that a musical TMNT fan would dislike this, what a shocker. I liked the Christmas TMNT 2K3 episode or the feature from Good Housekeeping.
I could do a better job for a Christmas musical. Mikey & Ex-Cel Dude could spread some Christmas cheer with their music.

What's this Christmas sher? Don't you mean Christmas cheer? And it's reggae. You spelled that wrong.

My nephew has finally gotten his first obsession and it happens to be The Wiggles. He wants to watch the two Christmas specials he has every hour of the day and so my parents house has had two 20 minute DVDs running on a loop for the last week. Having spent the last two days looking after him for hours while his mother and grandparents do Christmas shopping, I can sing all of the songs by heart and this one song is absolutely jammed in my brain.

I'm really excited for Christmas this year, just because having a little kid around makes it so much more fun.

Got the same thing going on here, except with my niece it's the Backyardigans. That song is even in my dreams LOL.
Made some cookies today. Chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. So good

The turtle costumes in We Wish You A Turtle Christmas will haunt my nightmares forever...:teek: And why does Leo act like such a (pardon the expression) retard? Isn't he the responsible one?
Anyways, it's the eve of Christmas Eve. The house is quiet save for the sound of Christmas music for the time being. Tomorrow, we're having a get-together at the house so there's a lot to do.

Happy Holidays, everyone. I hope it was shelltastic. We had a good gathering yesterday. The best part was that Grandma and Grandpa did come because he was feeling good, so that was awesome. He even felt fine today, which is a good thing. My sis and her fiance also came, so that was nice. We had a good dinner and dessert. After everyone left, Mom and I watched "A Christmas Story" on TBS.
Today I watched the Disney Parade like I do every year, but that's about it really. Haven't done much else.

Yeah, Mom and I just had ham sandwiches yesterday. Nothing big really. But the food on Saturday was good. We had ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, spinach dip, and rolls. Man, was that ham good.
Watched A Christmas Story also. Not sure why the film hasn't caught on much this end of the globe. I never heard of it until 3 years ago. It really is a holiday classic!
As I've probably mentioned before. This is the first Christmas I have tried/made Eggnog - another thing that hasn't really caught on in England. I used a simple recipe, so maybe I am yet to really experience REAL eggnog as I've no basis for comparison. It really is delicious stuff!

It's just for kids it feels like that.
Watching my daughter enjoy her new toys has been a big highlight for me.

Heh, we still have our tree up. We haven't taken it down yet.
Spent time with my BF on Saturday and received a hoodie shirt and track pants, the Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels DVD, a bag of M&M's, and some pajamas from my BF's mom and her BF. All in all, it was a great day. We took a walk and ate at Arby's for lunch. We didn't have dinner since we were still full from lunch. It was just so awesome seeing him.
