NECA TMNT HEAD KNOCKER (bobbleheads) paint color match??

hello all!

i have recently acquired a new set of the tmnt head knockers through a collectibles shop online. all turtles but ONE arrived in near mint condition. there were all mint in box but i had read somewhere that some of NECA's products shipped poor quality so I'm not surprised but at a loss to fix it aside from buying another since the shop i got it from no longer has them.

so my question is how to fix it rather than try and buy another...i am artistically inclined and am willing to buy some paints to touch up the mask and eyes and some larger green portions unfortunately.

if anyone can respond back with a paint match (of which i couldn't find) it would be greatly appreciated along with any general advice on the matter!

They still have the head knockers at Hastings by my house, all 4 of them. I'm tempted to buy them but can't really swing it right now.

i have another showing a chip in the sculpt, on his arm and hand but that doesn't bother me as much as the zombie face haha.

They truly are awesome sculpts, and they sit bad as...with the exception of the Leo i have the other three look outstanding. But Leo is my favorite so its really pissing me off! haha definitly a solid buy though for me atleast cause i always was a fan the old mirage art.

They come separate for you to insert them into predrilled holes on the hilt, but guess what they don't fit! Not on this sculpt atleast... but clearly this one has it's faults :(

Most likely going to have to buy a new one and hope for the best but I'd like to try and salvage This one first it's been such a pain in the ass ordering these since no store by me has them.

Haha ok fair enough with spamming, i was unaware of this, it wasn't intentional but like I said I felt like it pertained to both and always see people upset about things in the wrong spot so I figured I'd be safe but duely noted!

I'd think they'd be custom colors that you'll simply have to trial and error mixing until you get a match

yeah, your best bet is mixing various greens and yellows to get the right color. i would use citadel paints. you can find them at any game workshop or their web site. you might as well repaint the whole head. right now it looks like ass. i dont think a few touch ups would make that much of a difference.

Man that is so sad. These look awesome and they are pretty affordable online....i just hear the bad story of broken/poor paint. I seem to carry badluck with me when runing into issues on my orders....so.....

Yeah it really is, and they are pretty cheap but maybe this is more common than I even think, and its amongst them all and not just Leo.

i might as well mention that Raph's sais are flimsy and barely stay in. idk if its called for glue or absolutely zero movement 5 feet around the statue but they need to be glued basically. For Leos swords as well but there not even as good as the method for Raph's which is a tiny hole and a piece of wire. Leo's is a narrow inset for the base of the sword and one of them didn't fit, by a long shot. but that was also on the right arm which appeared to have some problems along the seem of the sculpt down to his fingers.

Furthermore Raph's head was off to the right slightly, nothing that looks weird but you can tell its not sitting center on the post. i didnt quite look like it fit in the packaging right so i blamed that.

Doe's anyone think that i can recreate the black lines if i use a nice art specific black marker? i know of a art supply store by me that has a nice selection of inks in a variety of types and sizes.

i'd think a fine tip permanent marker would work fine, but yes, i dont see why it would be hard to recreate the lines

I need a Mikey tho, so I would ask that you buy a Michaelangelo from Phelan if he is willing and have him ship it to me and then I will ship mine to you.

Ok, so i bought some citadel paints and started trying to fix this with surprisingly nice results i think. the paint match was almost too easy for the most part and i think its looks nice, tolerable atleast IMO.

I just need to decide whether or not to use paint or a marker for all the black lines, and clean it up a little more.

...and fix the swords, but that's nothing some krazy glue cant fix.

Yeah I feel the same, I still have to go over it with the black lines so I'm hoping that will clean it up a bit, but there are a lot of imperfections in the sculpt itself preventing me from getting a clean looking eye with the white. Well that and perhaps lack of experience doing this but at least he looks a little better. I have a lot of paint now so imma keep playing with it too.

Wow, sorry for diggin' an old thread but i got my first Head-Knocker yesterday.
And man...the quality...it does not exist. I have Raph and of course it came with
broken bandana so i had to use superglue just a minute after taking him out of
the box. Sais barely stay in, tail was painted by 5 year old i think and as a
whole it's really not worth buying. I do not know the price in USA but here
you can have each turtle fo 26 $ and they in my opinion are totaly not worth the money. :(
NECA would do better re-issuing the four TMNT Sets (colored or black/white) insted of selling this crap.

For a while I thought these head knockers were kind of neat only because I also enjoy bobble heads. Now I'm a little happy I didn't purchase them. I like quality.
