Posted on Nickelodeon Universe's Facebook page, the new TMNT "Shell Shock" ride has been announced for the Mall of America indoor theme park, located in Bloomington, MN. The ride is scheduled to open in March 2012, and will take riders 70 ft. in the air. Each rider will control their seat, which can rotate wildly like a plane propeller or a gentle teeter-totter like a seesaw, making no two ride experiences the same.

Pretty sure he won't look anything like that in the finished series, but now that I've seen some piece of Art of him for the new Show I'm pretty sure that the Nick Series will pretty much be a Reimagine of the Fred Wolf Toon8)

Don's bo has a hidden blade and Mike's chucks can extend and reveal a hidden blade.

As for Shredder, he looks a little unpolished compared to what I saw at the live event, but the design is all the same and whatnot.

I read this today! Shredder looks great. I am getting used to the style way way too simple and N64 looking.. I like but the animation with Mikey last week it gave me a lot more faith. As long as the stories are entertaining its all that matters.

The ride itself looks awesome. You get strapped into a shell and hang with your feet dangling. It looks like each pod is a different Turtle and has their bandanas and weapons. Very cool.

Oh, and if anyone goes, don't expect too much "thrill" from the ride. I grew up in the Twin Cities and have been to MOA a billion times. All of the rides (this one is in the place of the old Mighty Ax ride) are pretty tame, but I'm sure it'll be a fun go.

When it opens I should be able to solicit a friend to go out and take pictures. And eventually I'll be back there to visit, myself.

I certainly hope this isn't anywhere close to his final design. It's just cheap and horrendous looking. This makes the 3 toe thing look brilliant in my opinion. I just don't get it....honestly, he looks like something from a really, really cheap dumbed down kid's show. This leaves me with little faith in Nick's decisions. The lighting had a lot to do with it at the event. Sort of like Batman's costume. Ever seen Christian Bale set pics while he's in his Batman costume? He looks goofy, but Batman looks pretty cool in the movies.

Yeah he does look different but I think its bc of the CGI. He actaully looks a little like the mirage comic and 1st movie shredder.

Also, notice the sewer system design. It sort of has some of the OT-style red brick and works fairly well. I just wish the detail was a bit better on the Shredder. Notice that Japanese character on his belt as well, which is unique to the Shredder designs I've seen.

Shredder's blades are a little too big and the design too simple. Also extremely cheesy and not threatening at all. Coloring = bad. It needs to be darker. Hope it looks better in the actual show.

Agreed. The only reason a "goofy" Shredder worked in the original cartoon is because he was genuinely funny, but he was still a threat and a skilled fighter.

People love old toon Shredder for this reason. He could be a bumbling baffoon in some eps and then a serious threat in others. He had excellent interactions with Krang and his design was just right.

I am worried for this Shredder.

It's stylized. He'll probably look 100 times better in the actual show rather than being less-than-professionally photoshopped into some thrill ride ad.

Perfectly understandable and it still was a "mutation in progress", regardless that last bit still seems kinda flip-floppy from the general opinion. I'm getting a vibe of the way that event held made people be more forgiving and whatnot, even if you don't try to be biased it's hard not to, professional gaming journalists mention how it's impossible to not be biased in similar events, and you are just fans.

I'm not so sure, why would they show an unfinished Shredder, and to me it seems to fit perfectly with the style of the show is going so I doubt it's much different. I'd love to be hopeful but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Me too, I didn't know what to expect but it's the one thing everyone agreed one was one of the highlights of what they'd seen makes this extremely disappointing.

What I am worried about is that maybe the show really is going to go for a comedy aspect for the show, from the 'pilot' that the preview event had it's what it seems we're going to get. I didn't want another serious 2k3 show but I did want a more mature take on the OT and this seems like a more comedic version of the OT only with more action than the OT had, that's what I'm thinking the new show is going to be, in fact I think it's what the second TMNT imagi movie was going to be like if mirage hadn't vetoed the idea.

Um last time I checked you hated next mutation amongst other things?
Fans don't have to like ever chunk of turtles thrown at them.

I love how, to some people here, if you don't love everything Nick is doing, you're immediately told to relax and get a life. Really? We are all on a TMNT forum expressing our opinions, so nobody should be telling anyone else to get a life. We aren't supposed to express displeasure when we don't like something? Shredder honestly does not look very good, and I have finally warmed up to the Turtle designs themselves and actually really like them now.

Considering Shredder is the main villain I don't know how they can screw this up. He's hard to take seriously given he's supposed to be this, "no nonsense bad guy," from the previews.

Should have just based it on his Mirage/Movie/Sideshow statue design and left it at that. Hell if they based it on Fred Wolf Shredder I'd be fine with that too. By all means bring back the purple cape and make him look like a ninja.

Not gonna lie, I'm not fond of the Shredder's apparent look here either, but as others have said - this is obviously not a finished look for him. I mean, just look at the pic of him - it's obvious the CG on this shot of him isn't as finished as the other ones, it even looks a little pixely here compared to the Turtles.

As for the design itself though...maybe if they pull back the size of the legging armor, and the size of the blades on his wrists...that'd be a step in the right direction for me. He'd still look a little basic, but that wouldn't be so bad for me.

At the very least, he doesn't look like this huge, bulky, HULK of a man that I was afraid he would when we got news of Kevin Michael Richardson for the voice of him.

Whenever Splinter, April, etc. are revealed, I'll judge their designs individually as well. I might like them more than Shredder or less depending on what they look like. Liking the TMNT designs doesn't automatically make me like what the villains or supporting characters will look like.

Would this design keep me from watching? Well probably not, but it would keep me from taking Shredder seriously, and that is pretty bad when publicity said he would be scary.

Shredder looks absolutely disgusting. Seriously!?!?!?!?!?!? This is a joke, right? What's with the oversized EVERYTHING on him? That is supposed to be the "scariest" version of him yet??? I certainly hope this isn't anywhere close to his final design. It's just cheap and horrendous looking. This makes the 3 toe thing look brilliant in my opinion. I just don't get it....honestly, he looks like something from a really, really cheap dumbed down kid's show. This leaves me with little faith in Nick's decisions. Sorry for venting and being negative, but I honestly just don't see one thing positive in his design.

may it be that this silver box thick looking part of his leg is merely cloth perhaps?...I don't know, to me it doesn't look that bad...something that looks somehow off to me but that ma only be perspective reasoned is the length of raphaels legs...in this picture he looks as if they are too short...at first I thought hey cool, they make it look like he's wading through water in the sewers, but looking at it again I think that's not really the case here;)...hahaha

They are definitely not cloth...the "boxes" are metal housings for the blades that stick out on the front. Just a really odd design choice. Won't ruin the series for me (not that shallow), but a bad design imo. They could have made it look much better with a few small tweaks.

RE: Raph's legs - I'm pretty sure his legs are bent....his legs are normal sized from every other picture we've seen of him. The short guy in this series is Mikey, but even his proportions are normal.
