The Children's Choice Awards

[Guitar_Raph]

Over in the lair, Mikey's watching tv, while having his snare drum in front of him. Raph enters from his workout.

RAPH: What are you watchin?
MIKEY: Dizzylodeon's having an I'm Stuck With The Kids marathon.
RAPH: Not that stupid show with Kyle, Jack & Bode? How many episodes have they done?
MIKEY: About 63 episodes. 64 is their series finale where Jack & Bode graduate from high school & Kyle gets married.
RAPH: Which episode is this one?
MIKEY: #47, Football. Jack & Bode go out for football. Bode's a kicker while Jack's a quarterback.

Mikey sees a scene where Jack's in a football uniform playing a snare drum roll while Bode's getting ready to kick. Mikey drums with Jack.

RAPH: Brother, does he have to drum? What next, the tympani?
MIKEY: That's later in the episode.

During a commercial break, Mikey watches a promo for an upcoming event. It's set at a town hall where people are gathered for a town meeting.

SPEAKER: We will now take comments about the issue to turn the skateboard park to a junkyard.

A kid speaks up.

KID: On behalf of my school...
SPEAKER: Citizens under 18 aren't allowed to speak or vote. You have no choice, the grownups make all the calls.

Just then, a motorcycle bust through the doors of City Hall. The crowd finds out it's Ex-Cel Dude. He addresses the kids.

EX-CEL: You may not be able to have a say on city issues, but you have your right to vote on the Children's Choice Awards.

ANNOUNCER: That's right, Ex-Cel Dude will be rockin, performin & hosting the Children's Choice Awards, With a special appearance by Maroon Republic. Vote for your favorites in movies, tv, music, sports & much more.

Ex-Cel had the kid behind on his motorcycle, as they left City Hall.

SPEAKER: Next order of business, getting a new door that a lame musical superhero busted.

ANNOUNCER: The Children's Choice Awards, coming soon to Dizzylodeon.

Mikey's excited to learn his friend's going to be the host of that event. But he wondered why he wasn't invited.

Over at Salazar Studios, Josh & Mallory were cuddled together on the sofa in their living room, watching a movie. When that was over, Josh flipped stations until he caught a ConnecTV concert series special. It's a Maroon Republic concert. Mallory sighed over the lead singer who showed off his abs.

MALLORY: (Sigh) What a hottie hunk! Too bad Ex-Cel can't strip down.
JOSH: Very funny.

Maroon Republic consists of the hunky lead singer, Miguel (who sometimes played guitar), Mark on bass guitar/cello, Thomas on keys, Devon on drums & Scott Greg on electric guitar (and occasional lead singer). Josh wondered why their lead guitarist wears a football uniform (minus the shoulder pads) on stage.


JOSH: That Scott's a nut case.
MALLORY: At least he's playing your 175 guitar.

In between songs, they showed footage about the band. Scott's playing an Ex-Cel guitar solo on his electric guitar. Then he stops playing.

SCOTT: The name's Scott Greg. Next to playing the guitar, I'm obsessed with football. So I wear the gear. Out on tour, I sport the town's NFL jersey, like if we did Houston, I'd be sportin the Texans. For the SF bay area & New York, I switch jersies in the middle of the concert. My favorite guitarist is Ex-Cel Dude. May be a lame superhero, but he's a super guitarist. I would love to jam with him.
MALLORY: You got a fan, Josh.

Josh couldn't believe it. Back to the concert, Miguel tells the audience...

MIGUEL: Gotta go backstage & pump my abs. I'm letting Scott be the QB for awhile.

Some fans screamed over Scott's singing while Miguel left stage.

Just then, Mikey entered their house.

MIKEY: Way to go Josh!
MALLORY: Don't you ever knock?
MIKEY: I did.
JOSH: What is it Mikey?
MIKEY: How did you get the gig on Dizzylodeon?

To answer Mikey's question, let's go to Dizzylodeon headquarters in Reseda. California where there's a meeting going on between Jack & Bode Martin with Kyle Searles and the Executive Producer of I'm Stuck With The Kids.

EXEC: Boys, you know why I called you in here?
KYLE: A spin-off series?
BODE: (groans) Not Jack & Bode; the College Years. I'm planning to go to Princeton.
JACK: And me to ULA. They have the coolest football team & hot babes! Will Smith's an alumni.
BODE: You wanna go to a party retard school.
JACK: Maybe I'll skip college & play the drums.

Just as Jack & Bode argues, another guy enters the office. It turns out to be Justin Austin, star of another cancelled series, Sorcerers of Studewood Place.

JUSTIN: Sorry I'm late. Traffic along the 710. What a split.

(Author's note, LA has I-710).

EXEC: May I continue? The reason I asked you here is because the final episode will air after the Children's Choice Awards. And you guys will be the house band, sort of one last jam session.
JACK: Cool! Let me play tympani also.
EXEC: Now for a lead singer who would host as well. Wonder if Serena Lopez is available?
JUSTIN: No way. She's too busy with her solo career & dating Joshie Barber.
KYLE: No way I'm gonn lead sing.
BODE: Not interested.
JACK: I got it! How about that superhero we had on our show a few years back? Ex-Cel Dude would fit!. With ne on drums/tympani, Justin on bass, Bode on keys & Ex-Cel on guitar/vibes, we would rock!
ALL: Jack!

But the executive producer thought it would be an awesome idea for a superhero musician to host the Children's Choice Awards.

The week finally came. Josh crated his vibes set as well as his guitar & amp along with his luggage, at the airport. During the flight to Los Angeles, Josh was a little nervous over flying 2,450 air miles.

JOSH: (Thinking) Man, wish Danny had a roadie for me, but wasn't available.

Just in the middle of the flight, the captain told the passengers.

PILOT: Ladies & gentlemen, we have lost turbulent in one of our engines. We will try to make it at Omaha, Nebraska.
PASSENGER: You're probably drunk!
PILOT: I am not!

The plane went down & down. Josh is trembling wishing that Ex-Cel Dude had flying powers as well as musical talent. But suddenly, a bump was heard. The plane glided smoothly to that point. The pilot over the loudspeaker said...

PILOT: Attention passengrs. Seems that a black Superman has came to our rescue.
JOSH: (Thinking) Silver Sentry.

It is Silver Sentry that guided the plane to a safe landing @ Omaha, Nebraska. The passengers were relieved.

At Omaha Airport, news media gathered to take pictures of Silver Sentry and asked questions. When the media was gone, he went over to Josh.

SENTRY: You OK, Josh?
JOSH: How did you know?
SS: Mikey told me you hate airplane travel, so I escorted you.

The airline asked Josh if he wanted another flight to LA. Josh decides to take his belongings & get a moving van & drive the rest of the way there.

Josh finally arrived in LA with Silver Sentry. When Sentry flew back to New York, Josh changed into his Ex-Cel costume & drove over to Dizzylodeon studios in Reseda.

At the studios, the executive producer greeted him & led him to a rehearsal hall where Justin, Kyle, Jack & Bode are ready to rock. The crew sets up his vibes & guitar gear. They practice for the opening number for the special.

After band practice. Ex-Cel, Jack & Bode were instructed to go to a studio for a photoshoot. There, they saw a motorcycle with sidecar.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Glad you could make it. We're gonna take some shots of the brothers & the superhero for the Children's Choice Awards. Publicity pics. Ex-Cel;, behind the wheel, Jack behind the superhero & Bode in the sidecar.
BODE: (whining) Why does Jack always get the cool part?
JACK: Because I won 3 zepplins & you haven't . It's your last chance, otherwise you'll be Mr. Susan Lucci (LOL)!
EX-CEL: Do you have to put down your brother?
JACK: That's my job.

The photographer took pics of the boys on the motorcycle. After many pics, Ex-Cel starts the engine.

PHOTOGRAPHER: No no! It's a rental!
EX-CEL: I'll bring it back! Gonna take the boys out to lunch!

Ex-Cel drove off with Jack holding on & Bode in the sidecar. He drove over to the studio cafeteria, where they had lunch. While dining, Bode is still jealous of his brother.

BODE: Mam, can't wait to go to Princeton to be 3,000 miles away from you!
JACK: Me too. You always a nerd on & off camera!
EX-CEL: Whoa, what brought this on?
BODE: Jack would rather go either a party college like ULA or waste his life not going to college & being a drummer!
JACK: Drumming's my life.
BODE: Ex-Cel, you're a role model. Tell Jack that college provides a higher education.

Ex-Cel was on the spot.

EX-CEL: Boys, I never went to college.
JACK & BODE: Huh?
BODE: You dropped out?
EX-CEL: No, my dad wanted me to be a mechanic. He gave me a motorcycle if I worked @ his family business. So some nights, I take the bike, drive as Ex-Cel & go to a coffee shop playing guitar music.
BODE: Didn't know that.
EX-CEL: If Jack wants to go for being a drummer, let him.
JACK: Could you use two drummers?
EX-CEL: No. Turtle Titan's my very best friend. Let's get back & return this bike.

When they got back on, Ex-Cel had Jack in the sidecar & Bode ride behind him.

The day before the Children's Choice Awards, rehearsal is being held @ Clippers Center, where the show will be telecast. Ex-Cel & the Dizzylodeon band got to do their numbers for the show.

Later in rehearsal, they have Maroon Republic rehearse. During one of their breaks, Ex-Cel got to meet his fan. But lead singer Miguel got into his way.

MIGUEL: You poisoned my guitarist's mind! (Punches him in the stomach) That's for sportin the sperhero outfit!

Miguel kept beating up on Ex-Cel until Scott saw him. Then he tackled him & beat the crap out of him!

SCOTT: You wanna sing tomorrow? Maybe I should knock your teeth in.

Ex-Cel grabbed Scott & told him it wasn't worth it. The network got wind of this & threatened to pull Maroon Republic off the show.

MIGUEL: Screw you! Let the baby have its bottle, I'm being absent from this kids crap!

Miguel walked off while his manager tried to reason with him. Scott got to meet Ex-Ce; Dude.

SCOTT: Sorry for my vain lead singr. You're cool in my books. You wanna live out my dream & jam?
EX-CEL: Yeah.

Scott & Ex-Cel are jamming on their 175 guitars.

The afternoon of the Children's Choice Awards came. Outside Clippers Center, they had a pre-awards show hosted by Devon Bigby & Miranda Parker. They got to interview stars that were coming down the blue carpet. However, segemtns only lasted 5 minutes so that the network would show DizzyToons.

When the pre-awards were finished, the network went inside Clippers Center to find fans waiting for the show to begin. The stage darkens & the tympani rolls. The spotlight is on Jack Martin, playing that drumroll while fans screamed.

JACK: You ready to rock?

Fans cheered. As Jack got off the tympani, Kyle plays a cool guitar solo, then when Jack gets on his drums, the band played. Ex-Cel Dude enters & goes to his vibes to play a vibes solo. When he was done, he dropped the mallets & strapped his electric guitar & started singing a cool song. After he sang, he played a guitar solo. Fans were wild over the superhero rock star.

EX-CEL: Give it up for Jack & Bode Martin, Justin Austin & Kyle Searles, my crew!

During the introduction of the guest list, Ex-Cel unstrapped his guitar while the crew took the vibes away, but left the tympani.

EX-CEL: Welcome to the Children's Choice Awards! I'll be hosting & rocking for the next 90 minutes. And we'll find out who'll win those zepplins tonight. Now for our first category...
JACK: Ex-Cel, the network requested you do something.
EX-CEL: What?
JACK: Play the tymapni during every winners announcement.
EX-CEL: Oh man!

In a private booth, one voice could be heard saying, Alright!

The first award was for Male Sports Star. And after the 4 nominations were announced, Ex-Cel played that drumroll & the winner is, Tom Tivo! Tom got up on stage to get his zepplin.

TOM: First off, I wanna thank my saviour for guiding me, the Wyoming Mustangs for believing in me, though we lost to Boston (fans boo). Thanks to my family & friends out there. God bless!

Fans cheered while he walked out. He went over to Ex-Cel saying...

TOM: I also play drums. You ever come to Wyoming, let me know & we'll jam.

After Female Sports star & Sports Team (Danica Lewinsky & the Houston Toros), next came the TV categories.

Aftr the four nominees were announced for Best Actress, Ex-Cel played & the winner was, WILMA!!!

A nerdy hyperactive girl jumped up & down & ran up o stage like if she was on The Price Is Right. She grabbed her zepplin & jumped up & down. She had a squeaky voice & screamed a lot.

WILMA: I wanna thank the folks @ Dizzylodeon for giving an internet sensation her own comedy show! My fans, my family, especially Aunt Betty for getting me started. I love you all & don't forget to watch WILMA!!!

Wilma left the stage & hugged the house band. She had a major crush on Bode.

Then came TV Actor. Jack sure he was going to win again that he got off his drums. After the 4 nominrrd were announced, Ex-Cel drumrolled & the winner turned out to be an upset, Bode Martin! Bode played a cool organ solo to celebrate as the presenters handed him his zepplin from where he was playing. He had a mike & said...

BODE: Well Jack, THE STREAK IS OVER! I wanna thank the folks @ QBC & Dizzylodeon for believing in us & to the fans, this proves nerds can win too.

Jack was a little upset ove his defeat. Then the presenters asked Ex-Cel to play another drumroll. Then they announced that I'm Stuck With The Kids also won for Best TV Show! The three stars came down for their zepplin.

JACK: This is so cool! Thanks.
BODE: Two awards in oe night, awesome!
KYLE: We like to thank our viewers & fans for watching. And after this show, catch our series finale. Thank you!

The next category is for Music. Lady Goo-Goo won the Zepplin for best Female Singer while Joshie Barber won for beat Male Vocal.

ANNOUNCER: Please welcome from The Center, Abacus Schaffer!

Abacus was already behind the poduum.

ABACUS: What makes a band? Friends coming together & sharing their love of their favorite music, while making noise in the garage & disturbing the neighbors. (he whispers below his chest; Neighbors!)

The audience screams & clanging bells are heard.

ABACUS: Cut it out! This isn't Pee Wee's Playhouse! Now here are your nominees for Best Band.

The four nominees are announced & then Ex-Cel plays that tympani drumrooll.

ABACUS: Kinda cool seeing a superhero drum. And the zepplin goes to...(drumroll stops) Maroon Republic!

The band was getting ready to rock, so they went over to Abacus to accept their award. But fans were disappointed that Miguel is a no show, cause he was banned since threatening Ex-Cel.

SCOTT: Thanks to all our fans who listen to the music & videos. Ex-Cel, how about jamming with us? This is gonna be a dream come true for me!

After they got their zepplin, Ex-Cel went over to the band, strapped his electric guitar. Scott got to sing lead while Ex-Cel played along with the band. When Ex-Cel got into a guitar solo, a foot ninja sneaked on stage & started attacking Ex-Cel.

The crowd was shocked to find a Foot holding Ex-Cel for hostage. Scott went over & said...

SCOTT: Get over it, Miguel!
FOOT: Miguel?

More Foot warriors entered & stared attacking Maroon Republic. All ws lost until behind Jack's drum set, someone came leaping to their rescue.

TURTLE TITAN: Sorry they don't give out Zepplins for Worst Villain. Let go of the superhero friend, Miguel!
FOOT LEADER: For the last time, I'm not Miguel. Attack!

Trtle Titan used his ninja skills to kick some foot butt over those warriors & when Ex-Cel got loose, he used his fighting skills to defeat the head foot. He took off his hood & found it was a stuntman & not the lead singer of Maroon Republic.

EX-CEL: What's going on?
TT: Well superhero buddy, we set this up to announce that coming soon to Dizzylodeon, it'll be a new series, Ex-Cel & Turtle Titan!
EX-CEL: Cool!
TT: And for live action, we'll jam out each week!

Ex-Cel's surprised over this news.

After a commercial break, they had the final categories, Movies. Green Mantle won for Best Live Action Movie, Marvin & The Squirrels for Animated Movie, and an upset for Best Kid Actor when Riley Jefferson won for Wimpy Kid.

RILEY: Sue-oui momma! Thanks for this zepplin! It really means so much to me & for sidekicks everywhere.

Just as he was about to finish, a bratty girl named Selma Farrell. pushed him aside. Riley felt like Taylor Swift!

SELMA: Listen to me you snot nose brats! I should've won that Zepplin! I know the President of the United States & he could make Dizzylodeon's business miserable! Bankrupt!

Selma got a pie in the face from Riley & they were both escorted out. Ex-Cel's on his guitar with the band.
