Now that we have a better idea of what 2012 Shredder looks like, What's Everybodies opinion

I think he looks great. He would give 80's shredder and 2k3 shredder nightmares. Can't wait to see him in action against the turtles!

I hope the model for the series is a nice melding of the rough CG mock up from the ride and this figure.

From what I can tell from the action figure he looks good. I like him better than 2k3 Shredder.:tcool:

i think hes pretty bad ass :) i like all the designs so far except Splinter i still have mixed feelings about him, he looks like a gerbil or a petstore rat lol

I'll always like 2k3 Shredder the best. But I feel this one is the perfect fusion of 2k3 Shredder and 80's Shredder, so I'm happy with the design. Just glad they made him utterly badass looking and not wimpy like the 80's version, which is what I feared would happen.

Glad my fears were unfounded.

Could be better, but I like it. Fits in with everybody else.

He looks awesome! Figures rarely look 100% like their animated counterpart so we'll see how he looks and acts in the show. But for now I'm satisfied on all the designs (even Splinter's, as weird as it may be)

I don't think you've ever seen 2k3 Shredder then.

I like him! It's way better than his first design. Hopefully his voice will be cool too.

He's being voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. It'll be AWESOME!

Not a fan. I feel like for someone with his build (seriously, look at how thick his legs are), there should be way more emphasis on the shoulder plating. That and the whole physique just seems way off.

I see what you're saying. When I think "Ninja Master", I picture a wiry-strong man of average height with lean muscles. Not Kevin Nash.

I like his design and really hope he'll be badass. I also liked 2K3 Shredder because of the fact that he fought the Turtles a lot more than OT Shredder did. I really hope this Shredder will really be threatening.

I hope the new Shredder isn't as serious as he looks and can be allowed moments of scheming like a villain. I really dislike how brutish and muscular he looks, like he's hopped up on horse steroids mixed with mutagen. And what is up with those incomprehensible shoulder pads?! They look terrible and distract from the rest of his design.

... Still buying the figure tho :tlol:

Still don't like him. Also April looks insanely bad which leads me to believe the human characters might some how look even worse then they did in TMNT. Seriously April looks like a Bratz doll it's disturbing.

Looks alright, probably look better in motion on screen.

Oh come on, it's a proven fact that Kevin Nash makes everything better. I think Einstein called it his "Big Sexy" theorem, or maybe it was Newton's Fifth Law of Vinnie Vegas...

Yeah, Nash was a pretty awesome Shredder. As for this design, maybe Shredder also worked out a lot as well as trained. That could explain the muscles.

I'm warming up to Shredder, I'd have to see him animated, his muscles look way too big and armor too bulky but he isn't that bad. But I don't think this is the scariest Shredder yet, in fact he looks a bit generic sadly.

There's more to a character than his model.

I always did like that super shredder figurine from playmates. He's a pretty scary shredder, too bad the movie ran out of budget before it could show a more epic fight with him.

I'm not really impressed with anything I've see so far, but I'm not writing him off just yet. My favorite version was Mirage's, really, but the OT and 4Kids' were stellar as well. Ch'Rell was a GREAT twist.

I'm hoping for something a bit new and different with this Saki. :)

Has anyone seen this yet? Shredder from the actual show. Looks much better then the toy. And is that scarring I see on his face?

Wait wait wait. True Love? They're making Shredder more human? And I mean something to make us feel for him.
And Miwa? I wonder who that is. I hope she doesn't replace Karai... Who the hell is Miwa?

TurtleTitan97
03-02-2012, 08:48 PM
To answer your question, that pick was from the site for the new show on Nick. Miwa is his adopted daughter who might be Splinter's daughter from when he was human.

Maybe it's just me, but I love the fact that Shredder is going to be more human and actually care for someone while still being a villain! :tcool: He doesn't have to be all mushy about it, he can love her but in a different way to how Splinter loves the Turtles.:tgrin:

I wonder if it's going to be a foil, like how the Turtle's family was a stark contrast to the Foot Clan's gang in the 1st movie. I can see the 2 different families in the Nick show being played up similarly.

TurtleTitan97
03-02-2012, 09:06 PM
Yeah, it adds more to his character! It shows that while he is evil, he still has some humanity to him. I feel sorry for him actually, i mean, he blames Splinter for the death of someone he cared about.

I'm fine with Shredder having a kid, if done right. Mirage Shredder was a SOB, yet he loved Nagi, so why not? We'll see how the show will handle it, before we should dub her as Future Pimiko or 2003 Karai. For starters, we don't know how old Miwa will be, right?

I'm not crazy about all the brown robes, yet I'm kinda digging his trident helmet. I love his faceplate, I have to say.

Shredder's feet look smaller than I remember them being at the Mutation in Progress event. They weren't quite like feet from Megaman, but they were larger.

If Shredder isn't careful he'll poke one of his eyes out with those blades. Maybe he already did.

What doesn't sit well with me is, why is he evil?

The way his bio was written, it seems like he wasn't always a bad dude, and apparently he was tricked into thinking Yoshi killed his family. So while losing loved ones can certainly send someone off the deep end... it shouldn't cause someone to wear a spiky outfit, lead a ruthless ninja clan and partner up with world-conquering aliens.

Plus... why come to New York in the first place if he thinks Yoshi's dead?

TurtleTitan97
03-03-2012, 11:23 AM
Maybe he found out that Yoshi was still alive after he thought he killed him and found out that he was in NY.

Zany Orange Dude
