We have to wait 1 month and sometimes 2 or 3 weeks for each new issue to come out So why is this happening? Dosent IDW has the resources to release one new issue evry week? Or is it some other reason?

art/writting takes time, I would rather 1 book a month of quality instead of 3-4 books a month just slapped together.

Are you serious? Do you have any idea how much effort goes into making a comic book? Do you realize how broke people would be if they had to keep up with a book that has 3 variants + per issue, weekly? I assume you were born with a brain, use it.

Obviously not...

No one is making anyone buy all 3 variants, so that point makes little different. I assume you were taught manners please use them. It makes you look better in your argument, instead of throwing out 3rd grade insults.

It's impossible. Only weekly book I know of is Walking Dead Weekly, and that's just a reprint program (don't even come with new covers).
Waiting on a monthly sucks, but I wouldn't be able to drive to the comic shop every single week.

Is it really that hard to wait an entire month to get the next issue? My parents and I were just discussing how our country just keeps getting greedier and greedier. We all want things immediately. Nobody has any patience anymore and it's really sad!

Keep in mind some months we get two comics from IDW, the main series and either a micro in Infestation.
I think IDW will continue to release specials in one form or another, so a lot of months we will get two TMNT comics each.

What the hell! There isn't a million people working on comics to pump them out like tv shows. It's a handful of people drawing, coloring, writing, etc. If you can't wait then start reading more comic series to tie you over.... I keep up with the IDW turtles and The DC Batman new 52 and that is plenty for me since i am so busy.

I don't mind waiting.
I expect some quality in the things I buy and the right amount of quality that goes into something (like this comic) takes time to acheive.

The real question is, who the hell releases comics on a weekly basis?

Well this month and last December each got 3.

That's the trade off between comics and TV. TV comes weekly, but the wait between seasons can be crazy long.

haha okay, um. it's not a question of resources, i'm sure IDW could easily get enough people to put out an issue a week (although they might be able to afford it since they'd have to pay all of them), but we'd end up getting 3 rotating regular artists on the main TMNT book and probably 2 writers since i imagine Tom Waltz can't write 5 issues a month, at least not 5 good issues, and i figure everyone involved would like to have some kind of social/family life, too. i can't even imagine how you'd schedule something like that on the creative end, either, staggering the artists' different issues within a week of each other so the shipping schedule works out... sheesh.
the quality would go way down. not even the artists and Tom scrambling to get issues out weekly, i'm sure poor old Bobby would have a heart attack or something from editing 4 issues a month. O_O
Marvel tries to do this sometimes, recently they've been double-shipping various books which is 2 issues a month, but the artists usually are unable to draw 48 pages a month so instead they have fill-in artists every other issue to make it work. and i don't know about you guys but even if the fill-in artists are really good or better than the main artist, having every other issue look different and other artists coming in out of nowhere, it really messes with the book's tone and visual identity and makes everything seem unstable and weird. especially when you read it in trade paperback form, it's a mess. anybody remember Grant Morrison's New X-Men? great series but when you read it in collected format it's all over the place thanks to the 43 different artists they had to get to pull that book through.

What if thats how comics came though...
Imagine the 1st year is coming to a close then IDW says will return with issue 11 in 6months (dont know if thats even do able).
Then in 6 months timing we get 12issues for 12weeks straight then 6 months later it happens again.
well during the "off time" they release tpb, hc and micros.
Is that even doing the possible or is that to much work?

Wasn't DC releasing 5 different Superman titles a month back in the mid-90s?
EDIT:
Super Cash-Cow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman:_The_Man_of_Tomorrow) is more like it!
At the time, the four Superman titles (Action Comics, The Adventures of Superman, Superman, and Superman: The Man of Steel) were released weekly with an intertwining story. The Man of Tomorrow title was created to fill the extra week in months with five weeks.

I wouldn't want weekly issues. Although I can't wait for issue #8, I don't care to. If it were weekly, I wouldn't be able to collect them, therefore, wouldn't bother reading them, thus IDW would be losing at least one customer. I'm sure more would feel that way, so it wouldn't be smart in my opinion.
And yeah, right now we're getting the Micro Series in addition to the regular issues, so twice a month (at the very least) makes me happy. I just wish I would have started reading when they came out. I'm still looking for issues #1 and 2.

No...he wouldn't, if you catch my meaning. *le sigh*
Also, that's a huge assumption, my friend.

Also, I'd like to point out that between TMNT #7 and the Leonardo One-Shot, we'll have had 5 new TMNT books over the course of 6 weeks. The only exception will be this week (March 14).
Can't remember when #8 is coming out, but that might push the total to an even higher ratio.

Um...most comics have a monthly schedule.
Amazing Spider-Man, Batman, and probably a few others have gone to twice monthly. I know Spidey rotated artists to get it done.
The only thing I could think of would be to do what Walking Dead Weekly does and reprint an issue for each week. There are only so many issues though, and Volume 1 for the most part doesn't have much continuity.
Actually, if it eventually led to Volume 3 reprints, I'd be all for that. Those issues are getting hard to find now.

The Beano is an extremely long running, weekly comic here in the UK. By long running, we're talking pre WW2.

When I was reading as a kid, I believe it was 24 pages per issue. Don't know if that has changed today or not. There would be various strips featuring different characters, each strip would be one or two pages long. DC Thompson never had a huge team of writers and artists, so usually people would be doing two or three strips each per week, but the same people would do the same characters for years, decades even.
Over the years the Beano has given rise to some of the most popular characters in the UK, such as Minnie the Minx, Roger the Dodger, and the Bash Street Kids (always my favourite). And Dennis the Menace. Now you're going to say "hang on, Dennis the Menace is American!". Well, he is. Your version. Yes, there are two comic characters called Dennis the Menace, that have nothing in common with each other.
You know what's REALLY spooky though? Our version debuted the DAY BEFORE your one did.
When the American Dennis was brought over, it was just called plain "Dennis" to avoid confusion with our version. I'm reasonably sure our version has made it over there too, but I have no idea what you might call it heh.

wow, mayhem, thanks for sharing the info!...that IS creepy;)...gotta see if I know any of these characters, awesome that the artists were married with their characters for such long times(I hope they were content with them..)

You're insane. Think of how much that would cost. I'd have to give up other comics to buy TMNT or end up skipping the odd issue or two. Plus the stories and art would suffer since they would have to be rushed out the door to make it on time for the weekly schedule.
I don't like Batman and Wolverine explosions every month. I'm more than happy to have have 1 Turtles book a month, with the occassional Micro-series or other things like Infestation to make it maybe twice a month or so. But let's not get carried away.

If you really need some TMNT to read between issues, you can read the Mirage series. I am rereading them in chronological order and it is going very well.
