Of course he would put Krang in it . Other than that; It's alright. I just want it to stick with the Mirage comics since it's the best choice to make a right movie. It'd be nice to see the return of the Creature Shop; but who knows. Only time will tell.

No worries turtle fanatics, the new movie will have the turtle fans' best interests at heart and they will indeed heed our requests. The movie will deliver the film we all deserve...

Why is that funny, exactly?

He certainly makes his case well, especially with the Easter Eggs and why we must always have Shredder.

He also makes a decent argument for Krang:

"More importantly, is the concept of a technologically superior being from another planet (or dimension in this case) really more far-fetched than a group of turtles and a rat mutating into ass kicking ninas and patrolling the streets of the Big Apple? I'm sure this idea is off-putting to many, but it's something I'd love to see develop if handled properly."

The fact the Utroms and the Triceratons were introduced right past the origin doesn't hurt his case, at least somewhat. Whatever one's opinion of Krang aside, his "skip the origin" is the most provocative:

"We're all familiar with the TMNT origin story by now, and if for some reason you're still not, there's an onslaught of new media that's going to give you the details. IDW is putting out an excellent new comic series (read it!), there's a fresh animated cartoon series coming to TV, and there are rumors of a new video game as well. So if you're not currently knowledgeable about their origin tale involving the ooze and all that jazz, then you undoubtedly will be by the time the reboot hits theaters. We've seen a handful of movies successfully skim over the dull task of slowly going through the motions of an origin story we're already familiar with. The 2007 animated film accomplished this and another excellent example would be 2008's The Incredible Hulk. There's no reason to believe the same cannot be done here in order to throw us into an awesome new TMNT adventure without having to sit through their creation all over again."

I don't disagree as to avoid the occasional redundancy, yet how the origin was presented does matter in its way. Each media version has tinkered with it, or in some cases, like in the 87 series and Next Mutation, adopt major revisions. As such, it can affect the setting in many ways, like create unforeseen plotholes or alter character motivations (both of which involve Oroku Saki, depending on the version). Stripped down, the "Turtles getting oozed" is the same, sure, yet "do we worry about Tang Shen, Oroku Nagi" and the rest.

I frankly don't know what the right approach is, but the topic is a good one to have.

Any argument beginning with Crisler's Law (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=crisler%27s+law) has already shot itself in the foot, in my book.

I can't help but picture an awkward, gap toothed, Jim Henson turtle fawning over whoever's the popular teen star to put in movies at the moment.

It's half funny but half pretensious too. (Not Andrew's Comment, the concept of this Crisler's Law thingy) I don't get why it's somehow a sin to simply state the ridiculousness of a ridiculous concept. Most fiction or science fiction begins with an absurd idea, because anything that isn't "real" is absurd on its face by definition.

It's not insulting the concept at all to state its absurdity, it's a plea to ***not take things so seriously because none of this is real***. There's a huge difference there. If people don't want to hear it, fine, but denying it is kind of obnoxious too.

If Krang was said not once not twice but thrice on 30Rock then he's got to be in it. He's relevant. He's a pop culture reference. It's not like Bay doesn't have the budget to do Krang right. In a way that was never possible before.

I kinda want to see Leatherhead make a movie appearance, and if it's possible have Mondo Gecko with him.

being to blind to read the mirage comics as a child I must say I myself would love krang in the movie, infact the 1987 series in movie form would be great, let it take place somewhere between season 3 and 5. That would give me all i have ever wanted from a turtles movie, though again because I never got to read the comics, I am exited about the possibility of seeing turtles prime come to life, more then the few minutes i got on turtles forever I mean.

I've been really hoping for a leatherhead appearance as well. I hope they listen to the fans on that one because a lot of people have been asking about Leatherhead. I wouldn't mind seeing Mondo Gecko either. He's one of my favorite characters but I'm not sure how popular he is general.

For Sure

Mondo Gecko will never ever be in a Ninja Turtles movie.

why not? Licensing?

Agree on mostly everything, especially Mikey and Donnie needing more spotlight.

I think that is always the case with most TMNT stories. They tend to take a back seat to whatever Raph and Leo got going on. I would like to see a little more of them myself.

Also

I posted this on another thread and relized that this thread is more about a wishlist than anythingh else and I should post my wishlist here. So here it is!

Give each Turtle a fair share of the spotlight. I'm sure there's going to be one-liners during the battles and I hope they're not too over the top and I don't mind if they're visceral. Lastly, have the movie focus on the Turtles and I'm going to be peeved if they stay in the background and get little to no character development like what happened to the Transformers.

-At least $150 million box office gross
-#1 movie for at least two weeks
-A good subtitle (such as next gen) to avoid confusion with previous incarnations if possible
-The Technodrome or similar Foot HQ
-A cliffhanger ending (such as Shredder rising from the rubble indicating that he'll be back)
-Humans played by B-level/rising stars

The production budget is reported to be $100 milllion, so that would be a loss after you figure out advertising costs and what not.

I presume they just mean domestic gross. If that’s the case, then 150 million is very good. The overseas take will be huge for this. TMNT is still a very big brand the world over. Unlike the animated TMNT film, this is live-action, so people will be even more interested. It will make plenty of money, of that I am sure.

I think you're overstating the overseas popularity by A LOT. We're not talking about Tin Tin or even Smurfs here.

Well, I can't speak for the rest of the world, but here in the UK Turtles was ridiculously popular back in the day, and when the animated film came out in 2007 I remember being surprised by just how full the cinema was when I went to watch it.

It’s different now, too. Big films (like summer blockbusters and other tent-pole films) just tend to make more money overseas. Before nearly all the emphasise was placed on the domestic gross, but that's simply not the case anymore. Also, if this is in 3D (which it probably will be), be prepared for it to make a lot more. The overseas crowd loves 3D, at least for the moment.

It will certainly exceed 300 million worldwide, and it will probably make quite a bit more.

Production budget is separate from P&A Budget (Prints & Advertising). So that's more than plenty. If it's not, they will give Michael Bay more.

Duh. But they still want to make that money back with ticket sales.

Regarding how much a film has to make in order to be in profit, the general rule of thumb is that a film has to double its budget globally to break even. So, say for example that Ninja Turtles does have a final budget of 100 million, once it makes 200 million worldwide it’s broken even. According to Box Office Mojo studios get about 55% of the final gross.

100 million in this day and age for this type of film is, believe it or not, on the moderate side. It will easily turn that into a profit. If the budget remains at 100 million Paramount could easily have a money-churning franchise on their hands.

Doubtful. Megan Fox pretty much killed her chances (and possibly career) of ever starring in another Michael Bay film again.
