It's just redundant, saying heroes twice on the shirt. Plus it's totally out of context, and there's no reason they couldn't have just slapped their "TMNT" logo on it and been done. At the very least, they should have made the adult version without the tagline and kept that "we are heroes" crap on the youth one.

I like the line not as a catchphrase or on a t-shirt but I wouldn't mind hearing that line, it's cute. I disagree a slogan totally makes a t-shirt lose its appeal. As for the shirt, I mainly don't like it because it's black, I own too many black shirts, can't companies make shirts of other colors?

I read somewhere that he watches this 80's T.V show similar to star trek and the main character in that show is the leader and hero. This character is leo's role model since he is the leader like leo wants to be. The character's catchphrase is "we are heroes, thats what heroes do" and uses old cheesey hero slang like "Halt villian!" So anyway, Leo takes after this guy, and i read somewhere that in a preview of the show at a convention they showed a clip and this was the dialouge.

So when the show comes out and everyone knows that that is leo's catch phrase, the shirt's slogan will make perfect sense.
