Just discovered that Russ Carney and Kenny Byerly are going to be on the writing staff for this show.

Oh, come on, the head writer is way more important than two random staff writers :)

And there's no chance in hell the head writer will have such a weak resume. And if he/she has, then **** it, you're right :)

I'm pretty adept at knowing Hollywood entertainment writers, but I drew a blank on these guys. But I do thank you for the IMDB profile.

And often writers do go out of their milieu. Two Frasier writers wrote for Daria, and the head Daria writer, I think, devised the Bratz animated series. For the absolute extreme, one comedy writer wrote for Law & Order SVU for a while, and, boy, was his fare god-awful.

Yes, once we know who is the head writer is, then we'll panic or not. For obvious reasons, let's hope "not."

Just saw that Ron Corcillo is also on board (edited the first post). He's written a few episodes of Fanboy and Chum Chum, on top of working on Daria and Malcolm in the middle.

Everyone's a nobody at one point. David Chase wrote for Kolchak: The Night Stalker long before creating The Sopranos.

I still place a lot of faith in director Andrea Romano. I'm sure with her at the helm she and the cast can help raise the quality of the writing a bit, if it needs it.

After seeing her voice direction in Teen Titans, I am not so confident with Romano. She can do it, but Titans proved how lazy she can be. (A good example would be the wasted opportunity in Fractured, when the Titans swapped mouths. It could have gone a lot better -- just saying.)

Meanwhile, a Daria writer does gives me hope, but I don't know if that can translate well into Ninja Turtle action. On the other hand, depending on how hard the show skews with Teen April, you got potential comedy gold, as you can't do better teen comedy than with Daria or Malcolm.

I'll modify my past comment, then. In the past, she did fine work with the DCAU. Granted, as I said in another thread, judging voice acting is a subjective standard. I'm just saying her Titans work wasn't as impressive to me, when she clearly is capable of much better.

Hopefully, she'll be fine for the Nicktoon, and she'll be at her usual standard, instead. Alrighty?

It was mostly slapstick although Bruce Timm wanted it to be a straight forward Superhero show.

Or maybe they've written some fantastic scripts that've never been produced, because that's what happens sometimes.

Or maybe they're assholes who couldn't write a coherent script to save their lives.

Or maybe they've written fantastic scripts that've been turned to **** by an asshole-head writer.

Speculation about the writers' competence is kinda useless at this point :) Let the real fun begin once we know who the head writer is!
