Indeed. Although, there is a passing resemblance to Janine, as well. Maybe that was the point, as the sassy secretary archetype had to come from somewhere. Unless there is an anime reference that I'm missing, since we now know Lupin III inspired 87 April. Heh.

If anything, Janine from GB looks more like April with the red hair. Well, since MWS produced Alvin & The Chipmunks for a while, I see no reason why they couldn't recycle this character for another series.

Well, many people have asserted that Irma is basically human Jeanette -- which isn't a criticism, as I liked Jeanette most -- so this makes quite a bit of sense. I know MWS produced the show's final season, or whenever they did the endless movie parodies, so there you go.

Now, should we descend this thread into "who's cute, Irma or Jeanette?" Heh.

Jeanette from Alvin and the Chipmunks was basically Simon's female counterpart, she was smart but she was also clumsy which was more of a Theodore attribute. Irma wasn't really very smart and I don't remember her tripping over her own feet that much.

She was also very clumsy in Attack of the 50 Foot Irma. But she was also going through rapid body changes.

One day when I was strolling around the net I saw an article that showed the OT's favorite boy crazy Secretary Irma Langanstein and Jeanette Miller from Alvin and the chipmunks. After all these years I never realized how alike they are. Both of them have dark brown hair in a ponytail. They both wear the same dorky red glasses. The same geeky clothes. Weird... It's like they could have been sisters if it weren't the fact that Jeanette was a chipmunk. Have any of you guys noticed this?

I previously heard that Lonnie Lloyd was Gadget's inspiration, but according to Stones, he only joked about Lloyd's resemblence to Gadget after the fact.
