as a huge LEGO fan, I thought the thread was legit, sad face.
I think we'll have to see if the movie and TV show combined are mega awesome, for LEGO giving it a try. But it would be neat if TMNT became a part of a Superheroes sub-line

I can't really help directly, but have a good thought. After being to the Lego store in Disney World the other day, seeing the Star Wars and other franchises, I definitely can see a TMNT-themed lego set selling well. The Sewer Lair would likely be the best idea, followed by a street scene with a Pizza Joint sewer entrance. Vehicles such as the Turtle Van also would work. Finally, a Lego Technodrome could really prove to be awesome and is what I'd like to see the most. Heck, I'd make a Channel 6 Building Playset directly from Lego!

How much you wanna bet this is already in development. Odds are someone at Nickelodeon's thinking "Hey, they've never done Lego TMNT before!"
CEO: "Brilliant idea, Sherman! Have a raise!"

I wouldn't because you're probably right.

Damn, i too thought this was already happening when i read the title. I think it would be great for the turtles to join up with lego. I REALLY like the party wagon you have designed on your link. -the only thing wrong with it is i just cant see (if they do indeed make a lego turtles line) Lego designing products based on the old animated show. though i guess nickelodeon does own the rights so who knows...
But i am def in full support of this!

In the description on my project, I detail possible set ideas based on pretty much everything thing you just said. Lol. Thanks for the feedback though.

LEGO® reserves the right to design one's idea however they please. So, it is very possible it will look nothing like mine. All anyone is providing is the idea, and producing a model is just for a visual aid.

Thank you to KROW and Powder for defending me. I really appreciate it. Kickstarter is for raising money for projects you create to one day produce them. That will in no way help me since I have no control over the production of TMNT LEGO®. All I have done is provided them an idea, and I need supports to get them to even consider it.

Given the patent on LEGO has expired now, then that's why other similar products are on the market. Still the brand recognition though...

My thoughts exactly. Lol. There were Mega Bloks sets back in 2003, but they were terrible just like all Mega Blok sets. Now that Nickelodeon owns the turtles, I think it would be easy to get the license since they already have Spongebob LEGO®

Amen to THAT!
I was unfortunate enough to have bought some of these Mega Bloks TMNT sets. (I'd been tempted for a long time and I was weak)
Comparing LEGO with Mega Bloks is like comparing the Playmates toys with the sorta toys you'd get out of a gumball machine.
That being said... Yeah, I'd LOVE TMNT LEGO! Sign me up! :D

The Turtles, Splinter, Shredder, sure. April, highly possible. Casey Jones, hopefully. Mousers would be cute too.
Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, nope, unlikely.
Let me guess; your ideas' Foot Soldiers are those awkward robots, rather than deadly human ninjas.

A more realistic LEGO Turtles Sets, according to upcoming Turtles franchise:
Sewers:
Donatello, Michaelangelo, Splinter, Mousers, Michaelangelo's skateboard (if there will be one, next series)
Streets:
Raphael, Casey Jones, April O' Neil, crooks, Raphael's motorcycle (if there will be one next series)
Rooftop:
Leonardo, Shredder, Foot Soldiers (or Kraangs, not to be confused with Krang, although look alike, if they supplant Foot role next series)
Turtle Van (if there will be one, next series, 100% probably):
Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michaelangelo

I of course would like a more '87 cartoon style but I do agree with the realistic. It will be modeled after whatever the current show is. Your Streets idea I don't agree with "crooks". What kid would want a generic thug? I would say whomever Shredder's henchmen are whether its one or two of those three mutants previewed in the toyline or another. I would not think Kraang would be in a rooftop scene. Why not Rat King in the swer set idea? Otherwise spot on!

I would almost say "Purple Dragons", like Mirage comics / 2003 series, but since it's Nick now, not sure about Purple Dragon usage. One or two of Shredder's mutant henchmen will suffice, who knows, maybe we'll get to know them just as much as Bebop, Rocksteady was in the 87' series, and Hun in the 03' series.

The problem is Bebop and Rockstedy are visually interesting and funny but not threatening while Hun is threatening he is just a punk who got lucky and is a very dull character. Finding the balance of catching fans interest and being threatening is difficult.

Then again, throwback sets could be made like the Star Wars series.

Maybe a set, two, on the side, limited production, to satisfy select loyal group of aging geeks like ourselves.
Otherwise, the targeted mainstream mass-selling, Wal-Mart / Toys R' Us toy section audience, is aimed at the kids, who mostly only pays attention, let alone knows, is what's on their screens every Saturday Mornings.
And, New Turtles series = new Turtles series products. If all products are only focused on the past, they might as well just only syndicate the old cartoons on television, and not go through with the new series, if they won't even try their hardest, to 100% promote them, with their legendary TMNT marketing merchandising strategies.

I've stated on this thread before that my project is merely an idea. The models and the description I have provided are just to give LEGO® a reference point. It clearly states on the Cuusoo website that The LEGO Group reserves the right to design your idea however they please. The Minecraft model that was released wasn't even close to the same as what was provided by Mojang. So, more than likely it will be completely different. I wish you would at least support the idea of TMNT LEGO® sets and not focus on the design I have given because the design is irrelevant considering they will have to work with Nickelodeon to make the sets anyway. That means it will probably look more like something from the new cartoon, and it might not even be the van.
On the question whether my idea of the Foot Soldiers will be those "awkward robots" or very skilled human assassins, it makes no difference. That will be up to Nick and LEGO® to decide.

That would be a great idea. You can have the current Nickelodeon style of sets and have one or two OT style sets. It's just like the Batman sets in a way when they made the Tumblr just because of the movie, and there is supposed to be a set based on The Dark Knight Rises later this year.
