Of course! :goofygri: Poor Bob...can't smell a thing...

Skeletoncrew
05-05-2002, 04:52 PM
Heh heh heh...I've been waiting for the opportunity to use Ded Bob's version of camptown ladies in a fic... (Ded Bob is a rennaisance festival act)

He sings: I've got bones that are healthy and strong!

Someone nearby will invariably automatically sing this part: Doo-dah doo-dah!

He sings: I've got a bone that's 10 inches long!

Then either there's stony silence and he'll say: What? I'm talking about my femur. You people are sick!

Or: If a woman goes ahead an does the doo-dah bit following it he'll treat it like "interest" on her part.

I've got this image in my head of Mikey doing something like that around a girl.

LOL! That's funny!

Machias Banshee
05-05-2002, 04:58 PM
*snicker* That's awesome! I COULD see mike and Raph doing that...

Skeletoncrew
05-05-2002, 05:01 PM
Of course, I think their femures would be well over 10" so they'd have to say "arm bone" probably.

Kali
05-05-2002, 05:03 PM
Nah, it'd just be better if they used the actually measurement of the leg bone.

Skeletoncrew
05-05-2002, 05:05 PM
Well, my femur looks to be about 18". "I've got a bone thats 18" long!" would send women away screaming...not pique their interest!

azure turtle
05-05-2002, 05:08 PM
*bursts out laughing*
 Okay, now THAT was funny!
*wipes away a tear*

Kali
05-05-2002, 05:11 PM
Yeah, okay, you've got a point there. But the Turtles are shorter than we are, about five feet officially. They have shorter legs. I used to know the equation for finding someone's height from their femur length, and vise versa, but I've forgotten it because I've never had to use it outside class.

Machias Banshee
05-05-2002, 05:12 PM

Man, how tall ARE you! That's about the same as mine, and i'm 6'0" !

Skeletoncrew
05-05-2002, 05:13 PM
I still think using the leg bone length would be a bit much. I mean, 10" is a bit much if you think about it!

Kali
05-05-2002, 05:54 PM
It is?!? Umm, okay, I guess it is. *stuffs her hands into her pockets*

Heh, well, I've never really ever read the NC-17 stories, but you've got me hooked on yours. God, i cant wait to see the last chapter....

Kali
05-07-2002, 09:42 PM
No NC-17? But I was gonna post my remake of that crappy fic! Oh well, I gotta find the nerve to finish it first. Got the first chapter of Crash and Burn nearly ready, though! I turned it into my own personal story since it's kinda me and Raph's song.

I also got watercolor pencils, and although I can't make heads or tails of the instruction book that came with them, I'm sure I can come up with something decent.

Machias Banshee
05-07-2002, 09:55 PM
Well, I've read some, but i lose my nerve during the more intense parts of the stories...

Hey, You should definitely put up your fics! watercolors? I havent used those since....middle school! You got other special plans in store for us?

Kali
05-07-2002, 09:56 PM
Um, that's about it. I'm still working on my Midori stories, and they'll be awhile.

Heh heh, and we can prove it when the fan fic awards roll around. Whenever that happens.

Machias Banshee
05-07-2002, 10:15 PM
I hope we all get a nomination at least...

Midori, Azure's story, Nun's stories, My stories, Skeletoncrew's stories....Man, this has been an awesome year for fics!

Kali
05-07-2002, 10:29 PM
Well, since it's the readers who nominate and vote, I'd say we all have a good chance of getting nominated. It's a great feeling. I had a fic nominated last year, and I was on top of the world.

Machias Banshee
05-07-2002, 10:29 PM
Man, i hope i'll be back online by the time they DO roll around...I wana see who gets nominated and do some hardcore fic reading!

azure turtle
05-07-2002, 10:30 PM
Really?? But my story isn't even finished yet. I have at least two more chapters to go before I can wrap it up. I doubt I'll be getting any nominations.

Machias Banshee
05-07-2002, 10:31 PM
Hey, some stories that have been nominated more than once havent even been finished YET! I think you'll get something for your talents

I'm kinda looking forward to the art awards when they come up again. I think my hatchling pic has potential...

But yeah, whenever i read my reviews, i get such a high from it! In a good way, that is... :goofygri:

Back onto topic for a moment! For those of you who are curious...this is me:

http://annoyingcustomers.homestead.com/files/me2.jpg (I'm the red head, thats Picasso on my lap and all over my shirt.)

This is a view from the side of the road in Utah: http://annoyingcustomers.homestead.com/files/view.jpg

azure turtle
05-12-2002, 01:43 AM
Hey, cool pics, SC! Is Picaso your cat?

And the view from Utah looks spectacular...I haven't been there in a while. I think Salt Lake City was the last city my family and I visited in Utah. It really is a nice state.

Skeletoncrew
05-12-2002, 02:44 AM
Picasso is my mom's cat. I didn't upload a photo of "my" cat, Wensleydale.

That picture was taken outside of Moab. I highly recommend visiting my hometown if you ever have the opportunity.

azure turtle
05-12-2002, 11:17 AM
Aww, Picaso is kawaii

Moab? Y'know, that really sounds familiar...I'm not very good at remembering the names of different places. I'll ask my mom later; she remembers all of the places that we've been to.

Hi Loolaa! Woah, I haven't seen you in a while. Glad to have you back :anime:

Yup, we have passed through Moab twice, according to my mom. I thought the name was familiar, but unfortunately, I don't remember much from those trips. :goofygri:

Loolaa
05-14-2002, 10:18 AM
Awww, too cute! He has beautiful eyes.. I'd love to have a cat (..or dog...)

Skeletoncrew
05-14-2002, 10:26 AM
He and his brother Wensleydale are real characters. They're spoiled too. They get to drink running water out of the kitchen sink, they're allowed up on the dining room table...and they're just generally babied. Interestingly enough they are very responsive to my grandmother now that her health is failing. They try to "help" her at times. Picasso kept pushing at her back when she was trying to stand up a couple weeks ago. He'd push, then run around to her walker, stand up on it, look at her, then run back around to push some more. Shame he's not bigger. Cats just can't be as helpful as say a labrador. They're still great for unconditional love though!

Loolaa
05-14-2002, 10:35 AM
Spoilt cats!! *lol* Careful, they may end up running your house!
Cats have great personalities, though. And yours sound very helpful!

Skeletoncrew
05-14-2002, 10:37 AM
Well, they're not in my house, they're in my mom's. I wouldn't spoil them quite that much.

Loolaa
05-14-2002, 10:39 AM
Awww, I'd be tempted to spoil them they're so cute... I knew a cat who acted like a dog, she was a very strange little kitty!

azure turtle
05-14-2002, 05:36 PM
Aww, kawaii. I've always wanted a dog or cat, too, but our house is too small to support a dog, and my dad is allergic to cats. Ah well...I guess I'll have to wait until I get my own house. *sigh*

Skeletoncrew
05-14-2002, 08:09 PM
I'm in a picture mood...here's one of my Enchantica dragons. His name is Infernos: http://raindragonjewelry.homestead.com/files/Other/infernos1.jpg

Here's a closeup of his base http://raindragonjewelry.homestead.com/files/Other/infernos6.jpg Check out that battlefield detail!!

azure turtle
05-14-2002, 09:18 PM
Total sweetness! I didn't know you were into dragons, SC! I like dragons...they're so cool. Y'know, before I was an azure turtle, I used to be an azure dragon. :anime:

Skeletoncrew
05-15-2002, 02:36 PM
I hope that isn't catching! I don't want my friends to start calling me Turtlelady. I LIKE being known as DragonLady.

azure turtle
05-15-2002, 03:07 PM
DragonLady? Y'mean your friends don't know about your bone-collecting hobby?

Skeletoncrew
05-15-2002, 03:10 PM
Well, dragons were my main focus for MANY years. I've really only started to revive my love of bones. (Although I could make a dirty joke here about my boyfriend.) Plus, most people would consider liking dragons less weird than liking skeletons.

But hey, I've revived my love of TMNT, why not revive my even older love of "dead bones" as I used to call them?!

azure turtle
05-15-2002, 03:13 PM
Hmm...good point. Why not? Hey...do you have any statues of skeleton dragons? I've seen a few at some hobby stores I've visited. A statue like that would combine both your hobbies.

Skeletoncrew
05-15-2002, 03:15 PM
No, I don't. But there is a great line from England called Dragonbones. They're by a former Enchantica sculptor and are "fossil" dragon skeletons.

azure turtle
05-15-2002, 04:15 PM
:???: What's Enchantica? Sounds familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

HorseTechie
05-15-2002, 04:29 PM
*heheh* That's all cool. I have an admiration of Asian dragons myself, but the TMNT and horse fascinations usually end up taking front seat.

You know what's interesting, in Korea the often make ancient turtles look like dragons too. Like small dragons with a shell!

Here's partial example of one...

Totally tubular pic, HT! I didn't know that Koreans held turtles in such high regard. Hmm...maybe I should visit once I get a good amount of money. I wonder if they'll welcome me with open arms? :anime:

HorseTechie
05-15-2002, 04:52 PM
Heh.. as long as you're an English Speaking American, I'm sure they will. But get ready to recive alot of stares and doubletakes. Foreigners and blueturtles, it's all the same.

azure turtle
05-15-2002, 05:00 PM
LOL! Heh, I got those weird stares that while traveling through Canada. Ooh, and I got the same kind of stares while traveling through some parts of Oregon and Virginia. I guess blue turtles aren't very common.

Kameko
05-16-2002, 09:16 AM
I don't think giant, talking, bipedal turtles are all that common anyway, Azure.

azure turtle
05-16-2002, 10:53 AM
Ya, that's too bad. :goofygri:

HorseTechie
05-16-2002, 01:13 PM
OMG! I just remebered! One day when hubby and I were leaving one of the subways in Korea, we saw a Korean guy dressed up in full Spiderman costume!

He didn't have the mask on, and was wearing a jacket and shoes, but it was still kinda of funny to see that. Must have came from the theatre or something, cause this was also about the time the Spiderman movie was released.

azure turtle
05-16-2002, 01:27 PM
 You should've stopped him for a picture, HT! Maybe he dressed up as Spidey to greet all of the movie goers. I remember that some theatres did that here during the opening weekend. Btw, the premier was held just a few blocks from my school! I could've gone down there and gawked at all of the stars, but I had too many things to do. Oh, and I found out you had to buy tickets just so you can stand outside and stare at all of the incoming actors! Can you believe that?

HorseTechie
05-16-2002, 02:52 PM
Geez, really? I guess that's show biz for ya!

As far as getting the guys picture, I doubt hubby would have wanted to ask the guy for a picture. (He's sometimes embarrassed by my geeky fascinations, being the Raph type that he is) Plus the guy wasn't fully dressed up for a decent pic anyway. *shrug*

azure turtle
05-16-2002, 05:11 PM
Aww...that's no fun. I'm sure the guy would've donned the mask for a picture

HorseTechie
05-16-2002, 06:49 PM
*modest grin* Well, since I wasn't very good with Korean, and my husband was quietly teasing me about his nice ass in English (we were behind him on the escalator), I didn't feel like bothering him (just in case he did understand our English). :goofygri:

azure turtle

azure turtle
05-17-2002, 03:54 PM
LOL! I don't think I'll need to ask for the details there, HT!

Oh, and Kameko, Tripod won't let you link to pics like that. You've got to type out the actual URL for us to copy and paste, so we could see your pics. Tripod is just like Geocities...bah.
*shakes bitter fist at Geocities*

HorseTechie
05-18-2002, 01:13 PM
*grumbles in full agreement about Tripod now*

I could be posting Korea pics and working on the fic archive. But nooo.. I have to waste my afternoon downloading files from my old site! (well, many of the images there. I have my HTML pages backed up already.)

Kali

Geocities is down for maintenance today, I hope they don't end up doing something drastic as well.

azure turtle
05-18-2002, 01:22 PM

Feel free to offer any ideas and suggestions I can do to make it better too!

Hey HT, very nice website! I really like the pics you've got up there :goofygri:

HorseTechie
05-19-2002, 03:48 PM
*heh* Yeah, the links and fonts are some of the things I have to fix. (as well as the letters that float above seperate from the paragraphs)

Also plan to stick some better graphics/pictures and flash animations in there too. And another page with some interesting Korean Proverbs (like what Splinter has on the Mirage site).

This was a website I made a year or so ago as a school assignment. It was also set up for frames. That's why some of the links have bad colorings, and content is kind of sketchy.

Oh, I also had anotehr fan tell me that once I used a name in Tripod, they won;t let me use the smae one again even after they deleted it. So I'm either going to use another name under Tripod, or talk my husband into letting me buy my own webspace. It sucks having to stick to a budget. :ohwell:

HorseTechie

ooohh.. I just found an excellent piccy of a Korean 'dragon turtle' I have to show too! (I think this is in correlation with a question Loolaa asked about Ryutaro in HI NO DE... what he looked like in dragon form) :anime:

Hey, that's a cool pic! I've never heard of dragon turtles. Looks like something I wouldn't wanna mess with

Loolaa
05-20-2002, 12:20 AM
Grrr.. Tripod are making me angry now.. it's really silly not allowing you to have the same ID... Seems petty.. unless there's some technical reason behind it...
You could do what I did when 'Loolaa' was taken on Yahoo, and just substitute o for 0...!
H0rseturtle... heheh

Wow that's a really clear pic of the turtle dragon.. cool... I can imagine Ryutaro now
Krean site is good too, though the yellow burns my retinas when i try to read the names of recepies

Hmmm... I might have a go at some of those...

Did you see many paintings by Caravaggio, SC?
I like Carravagio, and I was watching a documentary on him last night. Turns out he was quite a violent man and always fighting... made me think they should have named Raph after him instead of Raphael!

The Co-Cathedral of St John in Valletta, Malta had a whole room full of Caravaggio! He was a member of the Knights of St. John. As an initiation gift he painted the beheading of John the Baptist for them. It was incredible.

I've already got plans to get a turtle. But I may not have to buy one. I could just go out to our little pond and find me a new best friend. Just not one of the big ones.

Question: Do turtles always keep growing, or do they stop growing depending on the size of the terrarium or whatever you keep them in (y'know, kinda like alligators)?

Skeletoncrew
07-08-2002, 01:04 AM
Nope. Just cheap water-based craft paint and then a coat of krylon. It seems to work okay if you're not going to play hard with them. I took him into work to show a couple people, one of them dropped him and he got a couple dings from something he hit. I'll have to touch him up and then do a bit more krylon. She's not allowed to play with my toys any more.

hee.. that is a goofy pic, Nun! Dontcha 'love' thos gnarly pics people take?

Anyhoo... I realized I hadn't shown off my custome figures on this board yet. Already blessed the MikeyTMNT board with em...

Finally, I have some good piccies of what I have so far. And it makes me realize how old they are, and how much I need to touch them up now. Nyarly humidity!

The first set is of the infamous Movie Mikey figure. He was the first I did thos stuff too. Basically repainted his shell, and make a leather belts and chuks. The little riding helmet he has had rubbed the paint off his mask some, so I might as well repant that and his arm/knee pads sometime. He also used to have wraps on his forearms, but that came off after time.

http://www.turtlequest.com/images/mikeside.jpg
http://www.turtlequest.com/images/mikeback.jpg
http://www.turtlequest.com/images/mikeride2.jpg

Secondly is Donny. He got the same treatment as well. I had made sandals for all of these guys, since I once had them dressed up in midevil samuari style for an "Anything Goes" class at a model horse show. Don also had white cloth wraps on his calfs, but as with mikes, the adhesive dried out and they came off.
http://www.turtlequest.com/images/donfront.jpg
http://www.turtlequest.com/images/donside.jpg
http://www.turtlequest.com/images/donback.jpg

And then there's Raph.. I never got his shell painted yet, as you can see. So he steals Mike's shell for the Santa Claus picture. And I also made a rough samurai outfit for Raph to wear in the show (to hide his unpainted shell). It looks more like a roman Gladiator outfit, but it still looks kind of cool There's a helmet that goes with it too, but I misplaced that.

And what's this? A TMNT fan complaining about too much green?! Tsk!
Hmph...
How'd the wedding go? Did you eat plenty of cake??

The wedding was wonderful! No disasters (aside from me losing my car keys...but that really only affected me). I did eat some cake, but not a whole lot. (It was very puddingy.) Sarah (the bride), Lauren (the bridesmaid), and I managed not to totally burst into tears during the ceremony. We were doing a certain amount of sniffling up there though.

It was really neat being maid of honor. I think I did a good job though. At least, I stood in the right place, didn't drop anything, and all that rot. It was a bit strange having all those people taking photos of us though. Sarah had 25 disposable cameras for guest's use...so there were lots of pics taken.

Catching the bouquet was funny. I really wasn't going to try...but it looked like it was going to hit the lady beside me in the face! My arm just darted out and I made a perfect left-handed catch! Mike made the funniest noise and seemed kind of pleasantly shocked for a short while.

ya. one thing i don't like about weddings is waiting.

note: how is it possible to get emotional enough to break in to tears at weddings. if u r happy, than u smile or sing "if you're happy and u know it do ---------------".

LOL!! Hey, sometimes real happiness brings tears to people's eyes. Strange when you think about it, huh? We cry when we're sad, when we're happy, and when we're laughing. Humans are so funny... Of course, I don't have to worry about that. I'm a mutant turtle. :P

Hey, I remember him! He's the scary guy that hid in the coffin and made me run for my life! Erhm... Well, it's nice to see that he's okay and that he's getting some fresh air. :embarass:

Scary? I think he's adorable! :P I am so thrilled to have him here. :D I've got all sorts of plans for him! If I could only get the Homestead sitebuilder working, I'd get started on my new website!!! (Which will also feature my TMNT fanstuff.)

Adorable?! I dunno about that... I'm just glad he's not staying in my lair.

I can't wait to see your website, SC! I remember you talking about building one many months ago. I hope it goes well, and let us know when it opens! :D

I just have too many projects and too little time. My priorities right now are: finish Relaxation, create website, play with Roger, write screenplay.

*wipes brow* I'm tired, I don't want to go to work now. I spent my morning doing "plastic surgery" on Roger. His ribcage was a bit warped, so I've been working on straightening it out. And yes, he's been re-named. (For a good reason.)

Roger, huh? Oh well... New name or not, he's the same guy...err, skeleton! :embarass: Sounds like you're really busy, SC! I hope everything goes well for you. :)

Well, I've been hinting to one of my friends that if he'd buy me another one I'd make some special pictures for him.

Of course, if he bought another I'd have to find a way to widen its hips. They're just too narrow for a female.
