I mean this is the third time TMNT has been returned to TV and the second time in a completely different version. And since none of us is who we once were when TMNT first came to be how does everybody feel about it on a personal level

Well i am excited. When the 03 show debuted I hated it, being 14 years old i was at that age when tmnt was "uncool". And it didnt seem to live up the the fond memories i had of the OT. But since then ive immersed myself in all of the comic books and have revisited the series a number of times. I found that it was really MUCH better than i had ever given credit for. I really enjoy it now.
So with a new show about to air, and a few more years under my belt, Im ready to keep an open mind and embrace the new turtles. Im excited and extremely happy that TMNT has experience this recent revival and i cant wait to see where they go next

Mixed feelings really.
Some things that we've heard or seen about the series gives me major pause while other things sound cool or promising so I'll try and go in with an open mind.
Something else I feel I should point out is that if all the post Nick buyout versions we'll get this may end up as my favourite version of TMNT by default.

Its obviously not as exciting as when the 4kids show was debuting. Back then it was just a huge event that the Turtles were coming back with a new cartoon in the first place. To see the stores filled with TMNT toys again and a new cartoon...it was unbelieveable.
That and when the first episode aired back in Feb 2003...I was blown away. It was much better than I expected and the show only continually impressed throughout its run. Even in its weaker seasons (FF and BTTS), it still remained enjoyable for the most part.
With the Nick show I am more cautious because:
1. Its CG. That alone makes me fear for the animation and design, I much prefer 2D cartoons.
2. Nick owns the franchise without Peter Laird's supervision, so its possible we might get some insanely stupid stuff happening.
3. Its the third TMNT show, and has to live up to unreasonable high expectations from the people who loved the original cartoon and 4kids series.
4. Shredder's design looks a bit off, teenage April could go either way, and some of the new mutants look lame.
So I hope for the best.

Come again? What the heck does this mean?
It means that while I've generaly enjoyed the IDW series it has yet to impress me and naturaly I'm very cautious about were the movie is heading. On balance it seems I'm looking forward to the new cartoon more than future issues of the IDW series or the movie. (Of course that may change as we learn more about each)
I actualy think it's kinda ironic that despite the initial marketing of the IDW series as being like the early Mirage books it seems far off the mark and a movie which began as a Batman Begins-esque reboot of TMNT is also looking to be far off that mark. Of all the post buyout versions this show looks like it could be the version that is truest to it's source material.
In many ways it seems like what you would imagine the Fred Wolf show would've been early in its development. A light hearted comedic take on the first handful of issues of Mirage issues.

The problem is some people wrongly assumed IDW was going to be like the Mirage books, mainly because they heard Eastman was with them and they had red bandanas at the beginning.
While I agree the IDW series hasn't done anything amazing yet, its remained fairly enjoyable and there isn't anything that happened in it that I truly hate, so that's good news.

OH!!! I get you Galactus, of the Turtle media from the relaunch, this will be your favorite by default. When I first read it I saw it as, "The Nick buyout negates all of all the previous incarnations I may have loved." which made me go, "Um, no...what?"

I don't think we wrongly assumed it. When they first got the license we were told that they wanted it to be like the Mirage comic. It was easy to believe when we heard of Kevin Eastman's involvement and saw the red bandannas and the early art gave a very early Mirage feel. What we ended up with is something which is only superficialy like the Mirage version and even that seems to be fading fast.
That's not to say it's bad but I do feel they pulled a bit of a bait n' switch on us. I do look forward to when they got to something truly original. So far the best issue I thought was the reincarnation one

Yep. That's what I meant. I should have been clearer in my original post.

This. She seldom disappoints. And considering some of the cast has worked with her before, it should be good

While there are some things I'm leery on (like teenage April) I'm still excited to see how this show pans out. I'm excited for the voice cast because I'm sure they'll do a great job with the voices, so I can't wait to hear them and see how they bring life to the Turtles.

I'm very excited. So far, I've seen things that I love, and things that I hate, so I can't wait to see how it all plays in the show. Overall, I've got really high expectations about it.
I remember crearly when the 2K3 show came out, and it felt like a dream come true. I quite enjoyed it for the most part, and it was nice to have all sorts of TMNT stuff around one more time.
Since this new show is coming from a whole different scenario, I'm still not too sure of what to expect, wich is a good thing for me. With the 2K3 there were too many times when I found myself comparing the show to Mirage, and it made it harder to enjoy at times. With Nick, that's probably not gonna happen at all, and I'm somehow glad.
As long as they don't mess up the basic things, the animation is good and it's well written, I think I'd be able to love any kind of stuff.

My biggest concern is how the CG will effect fight scenes and the like. I know the CG looks better but still its a shame its not a cartoon.
CG looks very dated after awhile and I fear 10 years from now the show will look really rough-shot, like those old CG shows from the 90's.

That's one of my biggest concerns when it comes to CG. I'm not opposed to it, but I tend to prefer traditional animation. However, I think they've done a pretty good job with the modeling style, and the characters design looks pretty cool, despite the horrible three toed feet.
I'm not too fond on Shredder though, but I have to see him in motion.

Presently, it's too far away for me to become emotionally invested or have a true option, other than I want to be cautiously optimistic. I'm sure the series will have its strengths and weaknesses, as it was with both the 87 and '03 series. If it fails, I can always fall back on my preferred TMNT media, so.
Of the leaked details, I'm most intrigued about the Kraangs and wondering how the series'll go about them. My greatest concern is with Teen April, as teenage characters can be quite annoying, especially if done wrong. I suppose one can tune her out, but if she becomes crucial to the series and if she does become legitimately annoying, it might become a slight chore to watch. Either way, we'll see.
I'm also not crazy about the CGI, either, but that's the direction modern-day animation is going in. Them's the breaks, right?

I do have mixed feels to.I am very curious as to how the animation is going to look.I will see this,Clone Wars has done very well.Of course it has a Star Wars name behind it.I am ok with the look of the Turtles.Of what I have seen form the still shots that were posted. They look good. It's going to come down to the voice work and the writing.

The only thing I've seen or heard thus far that has given me pause is Kevin Michael Richardson as Shredder. Frankly, I'm kinda tired of KMR, because his characters all sound alike to me. Other than that, I am utterly stoked.

You mean the inevitable TMNT/Spongebob crossover?
Hell, Nick had that one game that had every one of its franchises represented, new and old. I wouldn't be surprised at a sequel, featuring the turtles....

Another reason I was more excited when the 4kids show was starting, (other than the fact that I was just excited that TMNT was back on TV again), was I was a teen at the time.
Like most people I was a kid when the old toon was airing and I was in my late mid-teens when the 4kids show began. I still watched a lot of cartoons back then.
Now we're nearly a decade later, and I rarely watch TV in general anymore. Even though I know for a fact that I will watch every single episode of the Nick show until it ends, I obviously can't have the same level of enthusiasm for it that I had for the first two shows.
I hope to watch this series with any possible future kids I have though...whenever that happens.

The turtles are back, so I couldn't really be any happier. Might not be the turtles I grew up with, but that's not a problem for me. Having a nephew kind of helps. I can introduce him to the Ninja Turtles while also having a blast myself.

Im stoked as hell I cant wait for it and the movie. Last time I got all amped up for a turtles return was for tnm. I would have been stoked about the 4kids series but I dint know about it till 07 when my g/f went to college she had comcast and they had the episodes on there instant view thing. So I started watching them every weekend when I went to visit and got into it then.
As for tmnt meet spongbob come on they could team up with mermaid man and barnacle boy. Now that would be epic.

Very interested. I don't get too excited about revivals (at least initally) because I don't know what way it'll go, I'll get excited if the show is able to accomplish it's goals and goes on to another season, as then I'll have a guranteed investment.

I'm very interested to see how this new show turns out. I was unaware of the 4kids cartoon until just recently, probably due to the fact that I was in high school at the time and didn't pay much attention to such things, but it's nice to get a chance to see the turtles again. It has been awhile since I've seen the original cartoon. I've seen some of the voice actors, and I believe there isn't much to worry about on that front. I just hope the story is something I can get into.

I've gone from modest anticipation, to mild apathy. I don't think I'll watch it too much. I'll check it out sure, but I doubt I'll ever get as into it as I did with the previous 3 shows (yes I enjoyed the ridiculous Next mutation... mainly because of the toys).
Either way I'm enjoying the IDW comic more than I ever thought I would and if I don't like it then I'll get my Turtle fix there.

I am looking forward to the figures, and the idea that another generation of Turtle boys and Girls can enjoy what has brought me so much happiness through my life. As far as the series itself I'm not sure, I still remember how Nick did Ren and Stimpy wrong and part of me worries about what happened with Sabans NTNM how it was the top rated show but was still cancelled because every single penny couldn't be sucked out of the show. I hope the show is great but I expect it to be just good enough or too geared towards the little ones. Wouldn't it be great though if the show did gangbusters and lasted 9 seasons like the original cartoon leading to Turtles frozen pizza and fruit snacks and pajamas and tooth brush holders and and.................. I can dream right?

This. This x1,000,000. Avatar had a great style and tone and was one of the best things Nick has done in years and the turtles would go great with that work behind it. I just fear that what they're planning will be too dumbed down. I mean, without a doubt it will be SUPER kid-friendly, I mean it is Nick after all, but if they added some maturity to the series how they did with Avatar, it would be amazing.
