What grinds my gears?

Politicians
Schools who think they're so much better than the other
People who scrape their fork on their plate while eating.
When it's way too flipping hot out.
People who try to shove religion down your throat.
Dishes that aren't rinsed off all the way and there's still stuff on them.
people who talk louder than they should. (Like I wanna hear you from my room when your right across the street cussing at someone)
When my brother touches my ninja turtle action figures. (Even when I tell him not to touch them or else.)
The fact that there ain't seatbelts on school buses. (I mean what if one day you're in a bus and suddenly your being chased down by a pack of heavily armed hummers and escalades?)

School buses don't need seat belts. They're among the safest vehicles on the road, far safer than the average automobile. Besides, if the f*cking thing catches fire, more helpless kids'll die struggling to get out of their straps than if they can just scurry the f*ck out of there.

I don't like it when someone tries to interrupt me when I'm talking. Please let me finish my thought and I'll be glad to hear what you have to say.

I hate people who make empty threats. "If that guy talks sh*t about my friend Jake, I'll f*cking kill him." No you won't.

I think my biggest gear grinder, though, is people who are different just for the sake of being different. It's okay to agree with someone's opinion, or like the same thing someone else likes. Luckily I meet much less people like this now that I'm older.

Most hypocriticaly stupid comment I've ever read while trying to get my rocks off. Just another reason to add to the pile of reasons I hate kanye's guts and hope to read about his demise soon.

Yo, it's not as simple as just something you disagree with. Opinions like that hurt people. Queer people still don't have equal rights in the country and continue to be harassed, bullied, and murdered for existing as they are.

I like Kanye, but he does say a lot of problematic things, so I can understand why some people may feel so negatively about him.

The Stryker

But to look forward to him being dead?

I can understand not liking the dude's views but to go as far to say "I look forward to hearing about his demise" is a wee-bit over the top. It's not like he actively went out and attacked homosexual men with a baseball bat.

Also I forgot to mention in my post that it's more than just homophobia he's contributing to, but also the commodification of female sexuality. But Kanye has said and done lots of other misogynistic things.

I don't personally think it's right to say you want someone dead, but I can imagine someone being fed up enough with their ******** to say something like that, particularly someone who feels personally victimized.

I didn't really imagine Memphis was speaking truthfully. I guess interpreted it as an exaggeration.

when a coworker gets pissed and snippy with you when you are supposed to work with them in an area and a manger pulls you out to work some where else. I understand this sucks and it screws the person who now has to work alone but thats not my fault. Don't act like it's my fault when you know you have to go where a manger tells you to go. If you have problem bitch at them not create a scene in front of customers because you don't like that your support is going to a different area. God, some people just need a kick in the face!

When people don't appreciate you are something for them and make snide or veiled comments. I've been given the brother of a friend of mine who doesn't have a car rides to work and back. And I was stressing a little bit about putting gas in car and complained about how high the prices were, and this dude had the audcity to tell me to shut up because at least I have car. I know how someone complaining about gas prices can rub someone the wrong way if you don't have a car, but if I'm helping your ass out and not even asking for gas money from you, you need to shut-up and keep your comments to yourself. I found that beyond rude have a the decensy to keep your comments to yourself if someone is going out their way to help you out.

It's usually small things that irritate me....like someone having a shopping cart full to the top and approaching the express lane (where it quite clearly states 10 items or less) then looking bewildered/ pissed when the cashier says she can't take you in that lane.

The GPS constantly bothering me with useless information...then NOT telling me something I really need to know. KROW and I were driving to my home state for vacation and the damn thing decided not to tell us we needed to turn or bear left/right until AFTER we went the wrong direction.

People I care for making me go back and forth for stupid crap. I don't mind getting you a drink or tissues....but make a damn list! I DO NOT want to enter and exit your room 50 times for things I can get all in one trip.

On that note...people who ring their call bell and then look at me like I have three heads when I enter and ask what they need. "What? Am I ringing? Well I didn't ring my bell." Really? then who did? Then as I walk out "but while you're here...." UGH!

When I worked at the grocery store it was little things, too:

*People who asked me to bag their milk only to grab it by the handle on the bottle and not the bag straps. (This could be chalked up to not wanting it to leak everywhere though)
*People who had one or two bags of groceries in a cart, take the cart outside to the first "cart corral" take the bags out of the cart then traverse the parking lot to their car. (Why?)
*People who would stand at a register with no cashier and just expect that someone would come serve them, especially when they are one of like 2 people in the store.
*People who can't read the signs we posted that say that a certain system was down. I don't know how many people would come in and get frustrated that our electric bill payment computer was on the fritz when we had a sign saying as much on the front door, or how many carts full of groceries I had to put back after someone couldn't read a sign on the door and EVERY FREAKIN REGISTER that said that our connection to the EPT Food Stamp system was down.
*People who had said cards and came up with carts full of junk foods, and what's worse, when they didn't have sufficient funds to purchase the buggy full, would put back essentials (bread, milk, eggs, meat) to buy a 12 pack of soda.
(To combine the last 2...a lady came into the store with $20 for cigarettes and her EBT card. Since she was a regular I made it a point to let her know the EBT system was down. She complained that she really needed milk, then proceed to buy cigarettes and with the change some useless thing that would have cost as much as a gallon of milk. *le sigh*)

I always try to be nice to cashiers and waitresses.I realize that it isn't always a job of CHOICE so much as a job to pay the bills. My mother was a waitress for YEARS and I always had to sit and watch people be utter douche bags to her for no reason.

Speaking of.... I find it kinda irritating when the waiter/ waitress or manager hovers over you at an eatery. I realize it's their job to check up on me but a few seem liked they'd like to sit and have a meal with me. Also it seems like they wait for me to take a mouth full then pop in to ask "How is everything?"

I used to work at a local KB Toys store here. And I hate it when the old folks would peel off the new price tag stickers that reveal a smaller price. And then they'd complain to the cashiers over the price: "Why is the price so F'n high?! The box says it's $xx.xx!!!" Everyday would be like that... from different people (all old though). So yeah Jester... any customer service job can be a living hell for 8 hours.

Indeed, any customer service job is a little hell. I try to be extra nice to cashiers when I go to a store, because I've been there.

same here. In that same vein I get annoyed when I am at a store with a friend and the friend starts acting rude with workers. I can't have that since I've been there. And some people don't get it unless they have worked a customer service job. It is a discipline in self control. Some customers really get a power trip out of being condesending to retail workers. I was disgusted when a woman went though a fellow coworkers line, handed her an empty bottle of water and asked her to throw it away for her when there was a waste basket right next to the register in easy reach. The cashier pointed this out to the woman and she asked in the bitchiest tone "why can't you just do it?" So the cashier actually threw out a water bottle this customer could have easily thrown out herself.

Another thing that gets to me is when the store has certain policies and rules that will get you in trouble if you don't follow them but when you try to enforce them with a customer the manger gives in to make them happy because they made a stink about it and suddenly you look like the asshole for following a rule/policy you were told to follow. Even worse when the customer, after fighting with them gets all smug and and starts talking about you right infront your face. Like you were just saying no to what they wanted because you wanted to **** with them. :flaming:

Gah, I hated that! Then there were times I got to be the in between. The customer would want a cashier to do something, I'd come and back the cashier up, then the store manager would torpedo both of us. So fun....wait...it's the exact opposite of fun.

This is one of the wooooorst things ever. Especially if you're carrying a lot of things, or something heavy and you know that son of a b*tch saw you, but they just scoot through the door as quick as possible and run off. Is it seriously that strenuous?

On a similar note, I live on the 6th floor of my building and there are 3 or 4 people on my floor who seemingly run to the elevator and slam the buttons as quick as possible in hopes that they get to go down by themselves. I generally take the stairs, but it still drives me crazy when people do this. Is it really so f*cking awful to hold the door for 10 seconds for somebody? When I do take the elevator, I usually listen before I let the door close. If I hear a door open or close at either end of the hallway I always hold it for the person.

Common courtesy is dead.

Example, is when some guy was actually nice enough to open the door for me and some random girl behind me. The guy let the door swing back in her face, and you know what she deserved that. How does opening the door belittle someone, it's called courtesy, I guy opening the door for you is not condesending. Hell I open doors for guy and girls alike. I actually felt the need to to apologise to the guy for this broads ignorance.

Suddenlink Communications. They've called me one quadrillion times for their stupid cable based phone service, but judging by their internet, which at the moment is completely crapping the proverbial bed, I wouldn't want it. Did get my "We're going to start download caps/allowances soon, just a heads up." letter in the mail, so now I know that my provider is one of those that is gonna start some SOPA light tactics in July.

I love the first sentence: To further enhance your Internet experience (I use Suddenlink...I don't enjoy an enhanced Internet experience ATM anyway....), a monthly usage allowance will be placed on all residential (non-business...thanks chaps, could have figured that out.) Suddenlink Internet accounts in your area, effective later this month.
How does giving me a net allowance in enhance my online experience? Any takers on that folks? And I really wonder what the actual average monthly usage is. They say that for speeds greater than (or rather greater thank. Nice proofreading, boys.) 20Mbps the average usage is 95GBs, and thus their generous allowance is 350GBs. Might have to research that further, once I can actually load a site that doesn't take a millennia.

meh, I'm on the fense when it comes to "don't look at my chest it's rude!" debate. Yeah, you shouldn't wear a plunging neckline if you want a the person you are conversing with to remain on your face. However This is really a cultural thing, because I can wear clothes that where I live wouldn't get oggled at but I can go to place with slightly different cultural standards and suddenly my attire is supposedly provactive. My father is a merchant mariner and travels the world and works with all kind of different men from differnt cultures. I was picking him up from the ship and I went on board. It was winter so I was wearing a nice sweater, nothing revealing, and jeans, they wheren't even tight jeans. I get on there and there are a bunch of ship hands that were arab, the looks I was getting from these men were disgusting. I mean they were openly leering at me. I get to my father and I ask him what the hell is wrong with these men, why are they staring at me so rudely. My father told me that they were not used to women who dressed in western clothes because the women from their countries typically wore the hijab. He then apologised to me for asking me to come on board because they acted like that even with the female ship hands. I was pretty offended, I understand that if you're wearing something blatantly sexual you are going to get leers but at the same time, a little restraint on the part of the one looking should be expected as well. I know that sounds really niave but I think a little responciable behavior on both the women and the men should be expected. Typically that isn't really enforced in most cultures.

I think what "grinds the gears" of most women in this situation is that the responciablity is placed on them to dress in a way that isn't going to draw attention to them. Which kind of puts pressure on them to always adjust how they look or act based on the temperment of the men they are interacting with. It kind of sucks that it is expected you have to adjust how you look but it's never expected that the guys curb their reaction or behavior. I get it though. With in reason, you can't expect men not to look if your breasts are hanging out in their face. But if I'm mostly covered up is there any need to star?

I hope I don't get too much backlash for saying this, it's just my opinion. for the most part I think one has to have some awareness of how you dress will make people react to you. And I guees it is unreasnable to think a bunch of dirty arabs guys should have restraint upon seeing a western girl, (but if you travel the world maybe they should). But at the same time I don't think I should have to dress like a nun in street clothes carry on a conversation with someone.

This really ticked me off: I was up at a park with some friends and I saw a little maybe 2 year old child about to cross the street with a bunch of cars. Why? because his irresponsible parents weren't watching him. Luckily someone stopped his car and yelled at the parents to get their child and he took the child to his parents as well. But really. Who lets their child cross a normally busy street by them selves? I wouldn't be surprised if child protective services was called.

oooooh! I got good one right now and I'm still fuming about! I go on a site called manga fox to read a particular manga series that was once upon a time available in the U.S but due to lack of interest got the axe. This site was doing scantalations for the series and we got as far as volume 18 in the series (of a 35 volume series) when suddenly the whole thing got pulled because it supposedly got licensed again. But as far as the people doing the translations are aware of, they are not sure if it was indeed licensed, and if it was, it is even more likely that the ones who licensed it are going to just sit on the series instead of actually distributing it. Either way if things aren't cleared up they will no longer be any more scantalations, and what has already been translated will most likely be yanked soon. This sucks because it is one of the hardest series to get ahold of because it is so old and and since it is so unknown in the U.S, not many other english speaking sites will likely try to translate it. So I either have to go learn how to read japanes or maybe french or italian since it was very popular in those countries. Sh*T! :flaming:

Hated that too. Loved finding cartons of ice cream melted hidden behind other items. Had enough time to hide it, but not enough to replace it...or at least put it in another freezer. I was more forgiving if it was non-perishable and on the opposite side of the store, but when it was a simple turn around and replace and it was miss-shelved, that was just annoying.

Yeah so? And it's Dollarama I work at

Was just wondering which one.

Oh sorry. Yeah we got lots of that. Need a better variety of chocolate bars though

Also I think Dollarama is ten times better than dollar giant,

Are your prices on pop cheaper than No Frills'?

I think so. The 500ml for 1.21 that includes tax and deposite. Cans of Coke and Ginger Ale are 3 for $1 or 1.50 and that includes tax and deposits

Also, during the summer the 1 liters come in for .69 cents
