View Full Version : What do you want to see Lionsgate release?

So a while back I stated that instead of having the final season of the classic toon released on DVD I'd like to see Lionsgate simply release the four 1996 episodes that haven't been put on DVD along with "Once Upon a Time Machine" and "Planet of the Turtleoids". Some people tend to disagree with me and even argue that nobody even remembers that half of season 10 was already released on the season 1 DVD, which frankly I find a really stupid assumption! I'm pretty sure the people who work for Lionsgate are well aware of what has and hasn't been released, and even if they weren't aware I'm pretty sure there've been records kept of the releases. At any rate I've been wanting to do a poll on this for some time and let everyone put in their 2 cents on the matter.

As ****ing moronic as this is, I might actually agree with you if it weren't for the fact that season 10 needs to be watched in chronological order.

P.S. I will unrelentingly rub your nose in it when Lionsgate releases season 10 in its entirety.

Where's the both in one option? Ideally, I'd have all of season 10 on one disc, with a bonus "The Lost Episodes" disc or something of that nature.

Hey ToTheNines, you don't have to get worked up about it. I totally respect your reason for wanting to see season 10 released, but I have my reasons for wanting them to do something different.

Your wording is tricky,Jephael.I only want the seven unreleased ep$isodes but I would perfer a Complete Final Season with three bonus episodes.Official season releases always work best!

It would never happen, but I would love to see just one, large, consistant boxset of every episode.
No volumes. No Parts 1, 2, and 3. No fricking pizza boxes.
Sorry, Jeph, but I think it's really unnecessary and ridiculous that you want them to just release the eps that haven't been on Region 1 DVDs yet. The only thing I can come up with as to why this would be worthwhile would be that the bitrate wouldn't have to suffer more than recent releases if they try to cram all eight Season 10 eps plus the three skipped eps on the same disc. Is there any other decent reason?
Personally, I expect a Complete Season 10 and a separate Best Of featuring the skipped eps. It makes sense, business-wise.

I think they should just realease the episodes on the Season 10 DVD. But they will probably release those spare episodes on a separate DVD as a way to milk more money.

Definitely Season 10, as we'd still have VHS copies of the three unreleased episodes to have a "complete set"!
But if the unexpected "special edition" comes out, its definitely possible since we have 12 and 13-episode discs from earlier sets. At least for now, you can actually USE your Season 1 DVD after watching Season 9 for the first two episodes for Season 10! The other two episodes are still watchable as "Mobsters from Dimension X" and "The Day the Earth Disappeared" wouldn't sense too much of a plothole from the Shredder/Krang reunion trilogy. Perhaps they could even re-release the first season DVD with the four bonus episodes being the other four Season 10 episodes.

Hey ToTheNines, you don't have to be so pretentious about it. I totally respect your reason for wanting to see season 10 released, but I have my reasons for wanting them to do something different.
I was "pretentious" about it because I'm sick of you bringing this up all the frigging time. Plus you said it was a "stupid assumption" to think that Lionsgate doesn't remember the exact content of the season 1 release. That was almost a decade ago, and Lionsgate doesn't hold TMNT very high regard anyways.
I mean, season 10 is 8 episodes. There are 3 unreleased episodes.
8 + 3 = 11
All the season 3 discs had 12 episodes on them. They could easily put the missing episodes in the same release as the regular season, and to think otherwise is foolish.
This argument is retarded anyways, we all know they're never going to release OUaTM or PoTT.
Where's the both in one option?
He has his reasons!

The most likely scenario is all 8 episodes of Season 10 will be on the next release and that's it.
I'd love Lionsgates to put all those Turtle Tips on DVD but I doubt they will do that either.

I would love for that to happen but it probably won't.
Any ways for the op I want to see a complete season 10 plus the lost episodes. Any one know why they left those episodes out of the earlier DVDs anyways?

They swapped the episode guide they were releasing by.

I gotta admit I'm starting to see your point. My only issue with it is that it makes the four 1996 episodes already on the season 1 release a complete waste of space!

Lionsgate probably put those there not thinking/knowing that they'd eventually put season 10 out, yo.
I dont understand why anyone wouldnt want the unreleased episodes and instead want them to re-release episodes we alerady have on DVD for the sake of having them in the correct season. I mean the releases are already messed up and lack any consistency why care if S10 is out of order, it is far more important to have all the episodes on DVD. I mean they are even important episodes, one continues the Hare storyline while the other one is a one hour special that also had two sequel episodes.
Id also love to see the Turtle Tips on DVD and this is far more important than having interviews or commentary or commercials, its new animation and they are fun counting they are PSAs. All the Turtle Tip shorts together basically form a 22 minute episode so its like a lost episode no different than the one 2k3 had with their shorts.

Nobody wants to switch discs if it's not necessary. Just because we're used to screw ups doesn't mean we don't prefer continuity.

That and what about people who don't own the season 1 set? (is that getting hard to find out there?) They'd have to try and track it down just to get the whole of season 10.
The bigger question is why did they put the episodes on the season 1 DVD in the first place. They could have put the Playmates ads (if Playmates would have allowed for that) or the beloved Turtle Tips there instead. Why place 4 seemingly unrelated episodes on the disc, aside from the "Well, FHE never released these back in the 90's..."

What? So you'd rather not switch discs instead of having three episodes that you can only legally get by buying old used copies that may already be in bad shape and that with each view they get worse?
It just boggles my mind how someone would rather have episodes released in order instead of having episodes we don't have on DVD yet. S3/4 are already out of continuity order and the European Vacation doesn't take place in S7, sure it's more important in S10 but switching discs isn't that hard, trying to find legal VHS copies of three missing episodes through ebay is hard.

Why would someone who wants to own S10 not own S1? I'm sure there is the rare case out there but pretty much anyone who likes the turtles would start with S1 not 10 and if they just grab 10 because they saw it in stores that means they have no idea if it's not the complete season.

Because it allowed them to sell it as "never before seen episodes" even if it'snot true. Dumb decision and the random episodes doesn't help. But I guess the alternative of having no extra features is worse than having 4 extra episodes. In fact I was very happy to see this weird take on the turtles back when I bought S1, I didn't care if it wasn't complete or I didn't understand the whole story, for the most part it's still stand alone.

This is where you space cadets are confused. THERE IS NO REASON WE CAN'T HAVE ALL OF SEASON 10 ALONG WITH THE 3 MISSING EPISODES.
That's only 11 episodes. **** this thread.

Dude, take a chill pill! There's no need to blow a gasket over it! Who knows? Maybe that's what we'll get after all and everybody will be happy, but in the meantime everybody is entitled to their opinion and I just wanted to see where everyone stands on the matter!

Umm but that is not what the thread is about, the thread is about choose one all of S10 or only the remaining episodes. Of course everyone would choose the complete S10 plus the missing episodes but if we have to choose between either getting the missing episodes or repeated episodes but in correct order I choose all the missing episodes any day.

I'd like to see the whole season 10 if they're not gonna release the 3 lost episodes or the turtle tips. If they are released, I think they should just release the other 4 season 10 episodes if they need the space on the DVD.
I'd rather have them just release the 4 episodes than not releasing the 3 lost episodes at all.

If no new DVD is announced by June, I suggest people start e-mailing them again.

I guess if I had to choose I'd rather have a complete S10 release. As incomplete and out of order as the releases have been, it'd be nice to have a complete season release and just hope for Lionsgate to release the missing eps down the road.
