Ok, little rant here:
I decided to watch this series to do a review of it, but my god, MY GOD!
What an abortion! How could anyone that even remotely liked the original series think that this was a good idea?
And the POWER RANGERS crossover?

I at first back in 1997 thought that it could have been a good idea provided that it felt like a good continuation of the movie canon. Its a shame, as the ratings were fairly decent at first thanks to Power Ranger's popularity, but it just shows that the world isn't perfect and sometimes the crew just doesn't have the talent and creativity to give the proper execution.

Yeah, I'm sure abortion is more than marginally worse than NT:TNM. I mean it's bad, but not "baby killin'" bad.

Anyways, I had to watch ALL OF IT IN A ROW, and I think the show snarfin' sucks.
It's great that you like it and all, but you don't have to be a dick about my personal opinion on the series.
But hey, if you like watching recycled footage of a motorcycle and hummer over and over and over again, that already speaks enough to me about your level of taste. :lol::trolleye:
btw, "abortion" was a metaphor for something that could have been a cool thing, but was ruined right from the start, most likely in pre-production.

I'll say that NT:TNM was probably Turtles at it's worst (maybe trumped by Turtle Christmas and Turtle Tunes), but people seem to over exaggerate the badness. Much like Turtle 3.

How does a turtle look fatter?
Can't say their skin looks more "fatter" then the live-action films, I feel it's more opposite, they look like they lack more body fat, in a unnatural manner. I guess perhaps it makes the torso look bigger then compared to the films

i don't know about you guys... but i was still a naive little kid when i watched the next mutation series... and i gotta say it was awesome. anything Turtles was awesome to me back then. but like i said... i was a naive kid. and i refuse to rewatch the series now cuz i don't want to ruin its awesomeness. yeaaaaa.

But anyway I actually thought the NM was pretty good, but is incredibly cheesy though. I still think the show could have been better.......

yes, and it's getting old. I also hate the phrase "raping my childhood," as referred to a re-launch of a franchise.

I think abortion is the wrong word to use when talking about something you don't like as well as the raping my childhood term. I admit, I wasn't a fan of Next Mutation either, but I have no problem with those who do like it. To each their own.

Next Mutation was too goofy for me.
It became available for NetFlix Instant Streaming a little while ago and after watching a few episodes, made me realize how goofy they were.
Most interesting to me about this show was the man who played Bonesteel; Scott McNeil, who I think is one of the GREATEST voice actors of all time.

It became available for NetFlix Instant Streaming a little while ago and after watching a few episodes, made me realize how goofy they were.
Most interesting to me about this show was the man who played Bonesteel; Scott McNeil, who I think is one of the GREATEST voice actors of all time.
That's what made me decide to try to review the series, but in all actuality, it just made my head hurt.
I only remember the power ranger cross over, and the multiple reusage of the footage of the hummer, the motorcycle, and the muffler falling off of the motorcycle.

I know right? It was hard for me to watch it.
Oh yeah, the crossover is on NetFlix too with Power Rangers Lost in Space but they made the Turtles act like the three stooges in a lot of scenes.

The season was "Power Rangers In Space", I don't know why people insist it's "Lost In Space" considering they knew how to get back to Earth

I saw this episode yesterday ..I think that the voice that they choose for Venus was way better than the one she had on the original NM show..

I think that the execution was bad, as is all live action shows back then, however the premise was good and the story plot was halfway decent. When looking a movies or TV shows that are obviously low budget, you can not judge it on looks and acting alone, you have to judge on story line which surprisingly was actually good. TMNT III was not THAT bad... as an adult ya it could of been better but really as a kids movie it is actually good.

And more importantly spent a significant amount of time on Earth. Pretty much everything from Flashes of Darkonda onwards is set in and around Earth. I guess they kind of just gave up searching for poor Zordon.

Even as a kid, I was lukewarm about The Next Mutation. I followed it for maybe two months and thought it was sort of cool, but it quickly fell off my radar. There are still several episodes I haven't seen.
I will say this: If you removed the absolute assault of wacky sound effects, this series would be much more watchable. I have no idea why they added these in the first place; it's distracting as an adult, and I'm sure it didn't make the show any more fun as a kid.
However: It would still be a horrible series. The scripts are horrendous, the acting is abominable, and while I'm sure Saban was shelling out far more for its production than for any Power Rangers series (which probably played a role in its premature cancellation), it still looks dirt cheap. Hello, eye-holes.
It is, without a doubt, the worst run of Ninja Turtle fiction by any reasonable criteria.
But I'll still totally buy the DVD for less than $20 when it comes out at the end of the year.

Actually, in some areas, TNM is actually used as a form of cheap, non-invasive, back alley abortion.
