View Full Version : Fugitoid/IDW?

While reading the Fugitoid one-shot today (finally got my hands on a copy from Mirage Licensing this month), I was thinking about how I'd like IDW to reprint this issue, maybe even including it in a future collection, or possibly do a mini-series based on Fugitoid, continuing his adventures after TMNT vol.1 #7 and the Gizmo/Fugitoid mini-series. Including him into the new TMNT comic would be neat, but not necessary.

I think he's a neat character (duh, look at my name), and I'd like to see IDW do more with the character. Am I alone in thinking this? Would anyone else like to see more of Prof. Honeycutt?

I could see him being caught between Krang and the Neutrinos in their war, for the exact same reason he was between Blanque and Zandramon in the Mirage series...thought to be honest, I really want the Horn-heads at some point too....maybe the Neutrinos could become the Federation and the Triceratons could be part of Krang's empire...who knows...

Oh, man...I just had a thought, what if they use dino DNA and the mutagen and such to make the Triceratons? Maybe that's a separate thread. "What if the Triceratons were mutants and not aliens?" :P

Def! In fact, if my letter gets printed in #10, I ask Bobby about the good Professor. I've read hints that they do plan on introducing him, the question mark is just "when".

I do hope it's a tremendously awesome intro, though!

There's only one problem with that idea. Doesn't Krang already have a dimensional portal? They showed it the same issue he was first revealed. Maybe Fugitoid could be wanted for a different reason this time around.

A portal is similar, but still very different than a transporter.

Now that'd be an interesting twist... :P

Not a bad idea... it would make sense actually considering who he's working for.

I've never read the mirage comics, other then issue 1, so I don't know how the fugitoid came into play there. But I for one hope they do something much much later on involving the Turtles ending up across the universe leading to a Triceraton invasion to introduce him like in 4kids.

Edit: Wait, just looked it up, same thing happened in Mirage. Hopefully something similar happens here one day. Though different enough like the rest as too not be a copy.

I've always loved the Fugitoid. Ever since I had the toy as a kid way before I knew of his comic appearances. I'd totally welcome him back.

Maybe the Fugitoid created Krang's dimensional portal, and they're keeping him hostage, to harvest his brain for more inventions to be used as weapons, and the Turtles could free him. So like rather than people chasing the Professor as his introduction, maybe Krang has already caught him.

Jeff and I came up with this on FB: It all branched from an explanation on why a portal is different than a teleporter.
Ok, but if Krang has the means to develop one than he'd be able to make the other, he'd have no need for Honeycutt
Maybe...heck, Maybe Honeycutt helped Krang develop his portal tech.
Interesting idea. Oh, even better idea, what if Krang wants Honeycutt to develop the Mentawave helmet so he can use it to put himself in a new organic body.
Interesting theory...and to test it's effectiveness, Krang has it used on the professor creating the Fugitoid?
right

I have no doubt in my mind that Fugitiod will show up somewhere down the line. I mean, why would you think otherwise? He is a well known character that has appeared in almost every media incarnation of the turtles. And since IDW seems to be pulling from every universe to bring characters in, he will surely show up sometime.

I love this idea so much, I wish I could marry it.

Not a bad idea, especially since we don't know Chet's last name, so it very well may be Honeycutt. Still, I thought revealing him as an Utrom would have been really cool. That last page at the end of #3 was one of the best reveals in TMNT! And since Utroms are disguised as humans, it's a reveal that could still be a surprise as opposed to the Mouser "reveal" at the end of #6. If not Chet, then I hope they have a surprise Utrom lurking somewhere.

We don't know if it's a dimensional portal or just a intergalactic transporter/transmat.

Fugitoid is one of my all-time favorite characters (from anything!). I couldn't be happier if he turned up in IDW.
