Couldn't find a thread for #11 so I'll start one off with a bang! :D

I kind of like the con one best, but I know I'd never be able to get my hand on one for a normal price lol

Edit: although Cover B is different. Probably one of the few covers of the new series to not have a main character on it. (unless one of those nameless thugs becomes a main character, or I'm just having a massive brainfart.)

Yeah, it's cool seeing the Purple Dragons. Looking forward to this issue, Duncan's cover falls pretty flat, though. Love the Splinter vs. Shredder exclusive!

The girl in the non-Con Eastman cover looks like Angel from the 2003 series, or that may be her purple hair fooling me. Either way, can't wait to see her in action.

The IDW rogue's gallery is really shaping up with Krang, Baxter, Hob, the Foot and soon the Purple Dragons. Curious the latter would appear by the end of the series' first year, but, hey, they've done the same with Shredder. As long as Waltz and co. don't lose track of all these characters and can use them effectively, the more the merrier.

Your contention is valid -- what would TMNT media be without the annoying-but-cute tagalong kid -- but such a role reversal would be an interesting change of pace. It certainly is not unheard, as we've had our share of characters being protagonists in one continuity vs. antagonists in another, etc. If she is an original character, like Woody, then it still works in terms of "the more female antagonists, the better" or show what the 2003 series attempted to do, have the PDs as an actual entity.

Considering she's in the cover's foreground vs. the others in the back, it's not a bad indicator this female character, whomever she may be, might have an actual role in the issue's or the series' proceedings. We'll see.

Lastly, no, I don't find Angel or Zach that annoying. Having a once-per-season appearance helps with that, admittedly.

(And, hey, Zach kinda proved his worth in his final episode, as his mad computer skills and his size saved the day. No, really.)

I think #10 has been moved to May 30. I can't find it anywhere in the shipping lists for next week. Hero Comics 2012 was moved up to next week though.

My fave cover is the one with the Purple Dragons... cause holy crap, the Purple Dragons are here too??? The other 2 are just more of the same 'all 4 turtles posing on the cover'. Laird's kinda falls short... it just looks like he drew Shredder, Splinter and Karai in seperate weird random poses... and then cut and pasted them onto a page, however they might fit. I know it's supposed to be some kind of epic arial sword clash between Shredder and Splinter.....not really seeing it....

Those covers are pretty awesome! The solicitation to issue #11 says the Turtles bring in a surprising new ally to storm the Foot Clan lair.

That RI cover is beautiful. I love the tmnt with the gargoyle imagery; plus i miss that cartoon. Raphael looks amazing. I wish my local shop carried more variants but I'm too cheap to buy 4 of the same issue anyway for a different picture.

This is actually the first issue where I'm not too psyched about any of the main covers, but I still find myself drawn to the Eastman covers just because it has that old school feel, like you say. I might just go with the RI cover this time! Duncan's cover for this is probably his weakest so far.

It wasn't really a once-per-season appearance. Zach appeared a bunch of times in season 3 and once in 4, 5, and 7. Angel appeared once in the first season, twice in the third, and once in the fourth and eight.

I was going by in terms of setting, but I do appreciate the refresher. I haven't seen the middle seasons of either series for some time, so. Thank you.

The Eastman Con cover reminds me of that Simpsons episode, where Homer and Tony Hawk are skating against each other. And then, while they're in the air, they're lounging while their legs and boards are moving about. It's weird, yet awesome at the same time. Same with the cover, apparently.

Or maybe they're fighting on the astral plane. I dunno....

i like kevin's covers more than duncans. you don't see many (if any) covers of the purple dragons. and i'm glad they finally showed up... i was beginning to think they scrapped the purple dragons out of this continuity (i'm still waiting for the utroms, IDW).

I'm really digging this version of Shredder (design-wise). I really wish the Nick toon would have gone with this look. It's fresh and new, yet still completely in line with past incarnations.

How is angel comparable to Zach? She's got a totally different personality and if I remember theres only like two episodes where she has a significant roll. And also its worth noting they made Casey a lot younger, so he likely wouldn't have the same relationship with angel. The chick with the purple hair may be angel but I have doubts. I'm also really curious as to who's side they're on or if they're just a different faction.

EDIT: that doesn't really look like angel either. The girl looks Asian. It's hard to say based on one image but it looks like this incarnation of the purple dragons will have a more oriental look as opposed to the punk look in the 2003 cartoon or the normal scumbag look in mirage comics.

She was a nice character. Would have loved to see a toy of her. Though, I would probably use it as a purple dragon.
