So I might be the slowest customizer on the planet. But I finally finished Shredder! A thank you to Wes Crayon for helping me track down some good parts to use on him, since this is very much inspired by his great Shredder customs.

Body: DCUC Wildcat
Head: Slice N Dice Shredder
Arm/leg spikes, shoulder pads: Super Shredder
Hand spikes: TMNT Shredder
Lower legs/knees: DCUC Capt Boomerang
Feet: DCSH Batman
Added athletic tape and strips of leather for the belt and forearms.

He's kind of an amalgamation of Shredder from the movie and Cyber Shredder, but I just wanted a Shredder that was easy enough to pull off for a novice like me and would look good with what I already have. He's actually 95% done, I intend on finding some decent cloth for his cape to attach to his shoulder pads. I'm really happy with how he turned out, if Playmates doesn't give us a classics Shredder, this will be good with me. I wish there was some kind of easy blank body to do some simple Foot Soldiers... might have to work on that next... maybe if I can find a bunch of Rulk Black Spider-man figures...

Kewl custom! Btw, have ever tried using rit dye? Using a black rit dye on a figure could work if u wanted to make foot ninjas (assuming you wanted them in black.)

Hmm, I might have some experimenting to do soon. How deep does the color get? If I can just get some black basic figures and add some bells and whistles I'll be set.

Thanks for the kind words and advice:)

great work! it looks pretty cool. I have to admit though... not really digging the Super Shredder Shoulder spikes. regardless, i am loving this figure overall.

Yeah, I'd really like to find some small spikes and find a way to attach them without messing with the articulation, but we'll see what I can come up with

Ok cool... What did you use for the hand blades? They look perfect. Like actual blades.

Edit: nevermind.... Read the description. Sorry

I really like the pics of him without the shoulder pads... it reminded me of the recent color classics reprint of issue 1. I'll be working on a DCUC scaled Shredder custom soon, I just have to finish some other things first.
Good work!

With black rit dye it will soak through and through if u do it right. Some custom figure sites have instructions on how to do it. You could try joecustoms.com for instructions. It's for 4" figures but I'm sure biggers would work just as well.

Nice work, Boy Wonder! I like that you switched the recipe up to get the double-jointed knees of the Boomerang body and the rocker ankles of the DCSH figs. I tend to like the Super Shredder shoulder armor with the leg pieces too -- with different shoulder armor, I don't like that the smooth spikes and nicked spikes don't match -- but I'd probably flip it around (like I did with my Cyber Shredder) to hide the breastplate. The breastplate would also be a good place to wrap the cape around. :)

And if you're looking for, try Walmart or Hobby Lobby! I also bought a plastic tablecloth a while back that I wanted to try cutting up to use as a cape. We'll see...

Oh, and yeah, black Spideys for Foot Ninjas. They've already got the look mostly down (depending upon which versions you want). :)
