View Full Version : Do all the diffrent TMNT universe have the same DNA?

I mean are all the Dons from every Universe the same Don acording to their DNA? The same goes for the others
Think about it, they were 4 turtles in a jar, what are the odds that its the same 4 turtles in every universe. It could just be that 4 turtles were randomly choosen in each universe some are the same ones in more than one universe, but others might be a diffrent turtles but with the same name.
I mean it could explain why Movie Raph is just mad and Image Raph is frig'n nuts. Or why some some times all the guys are the same color and other universes they're diffrent colors

You think too much. :P

no no!
this is a valid turtle consideration... me personally... i think that it's NUTURE and not NATURE that make each of the universe's turtle different. In each world they go through so many DIFFERENT things and they aren't ALL the same age at all the parts of the stories...
so... i figure Movie Raph is ONLY pissed and not crazy because in the movie he's 15 or 16 or 17(depending on how much time you wanna say ELAPSED between movie one and two and three). and who knows..? by the time he gets to be IMAGE Raph's age, maybe he's just as crazy.
or b/c half the stuff that happens in IMAGE hasn't/won't happen in the Movie-verse, Movie Raph will NEVER go crazy...
but yeah.
i think it's always the same 4... there's something... EPIC about that... ALWAYS THE SAME FOUR. the wheel turns and nations crumble, others spring up in their place. we die and are reborn, but ALWAYS THOSE FOUR are bound to one another as they are BOUND to the WHEEL of TIME itself, spun out in ENDLESS variation across the tapestry of time....
okay... less Robert Jordan for me...*goes away*

Do each of the Turtles have the same brain structure?

I'm sure they do with each universe, but you have to keep in mind that their behavior in each universe differs. For instance, the original toon's Raphael was the only laid back version of Raph ever made while every other version would be moody and aggressive. Even Michelangelo's humourousness changes with each alternate universe. In the movies he was more of a comedian while in the original cartoon he was more laid back like Raph.

I think it's the same 4 Turtles in all universes.(I agree with Kyabetsu)
But I think that in the Movie, New Toon and Mirage Universes all have the same DNA but the Old toon and Archie Turtles will be genetically different from the other universes because they're half human.

They aren't the same DNA in the universes because of the varying origin stories. In the movie origin it was unknown from where the TMNT came from, they were just crawling in the ooze, in the cartoon they were pet turtles who were mutated with human attributes. Although the TMNT characters are similiar in all universes.

They are totally diffrent characters in all universes. Some are more alike than others tough. About DNA... Yes, deathknight made excellent point. In old cartoon and archie the TMNT had human atributes, I have even heard they were half human.
In original TMNT, Movie, and the new show the TMNT are mutated turtles. So there are atleast 2 diffrent DNA.

OK so DNA was the wrong word to use, but the question still remains are each version of the TMNT same same in each universe? They were just 4 turtles randomly put in a jar, what are the odds ins its the same 4 in each universe, or that splinter would name each of them the same name in each universe. For all we know the Live action Don may be the Image Raph, or the Cartoon Leo may be the brother of Venus, or the Archie Mike my not be the same mike as any of the other turtles.

So there may be 20-something different Turtles out there? Whoo, boy. It'd be interesting to see all of the different versions meet up. Like the last episode of the Spider-Man cartoon show.

Scarey thing is I wondered something a little like this too sometime. X.x Mostly because of how diffrent the Raphaels are and the whole differing colors thing.
I've always loved contemplating alternate universes. How the slightest change in the timeline can change everything so drastically. Ultimately, I think they ARE the same four turtles, and deep down at the base level, they are the same characters. But they're all in different situations and hence, their fundamental personalities need to express themselves in different ways. Yes, your choices in life, everything that happens to you makes you who you are, builds you, but I think the foundation of a person or character's personality would stay the same.
Why do I have the sudden urge to see if Sliders is on?

Another wierd thing I've wondered about the turtle universe is, do mutant reptile females lay eggs? If they do...wouldn't they be big eggs? @.@

ooooo
ANOTHER question i've LONG PONDERED...lol
okay... so i wrote out this LOOOOONG message on the TMNTnaughti mailing list when this question first came up a few monthes ago... and now that i'm reading over it... i can't post it here. why? cause the board's pg-13...
and i was quite frank about how it could all work out such that neither the mother nor the children would be lost in birthing.
cause yes.
i think mutant turtle mothers would lay clutches of eggs... if you REALLY want the particulars of how this wanna-be veterinary student would ACTUALLY structure the biology... pm me. i'll send you the email where i line it all out.

I agree with Kali. I think, It's the same four turtles in all the universes but shaped by their individual experiences. In a fracise with as many univereses as Gundam, or Sonic, or Spiderman, or even Final Fantasy, Vastly different versions of the exact same charactors can develop.
This has got me worried about real-life alternate Universes. Think about it. Take everytime you've been faced with a potentially personallity altering situation that could have easily gone a different way. Count them, that's how many versions of you there might be! Now, think about what each one would be like. I guarantee, you'll find at least one that you will NOT like. And, what if one is planning to pull a "Yuelaw"(Any Jet Li fans here?) .
I mean if theres a Univerese where I listened to Mr. Woods' speech, and took it to heart, then that means there's a Neo-Facist version of me in another Universe! If I met him, I'd have to kill him for disgracing my name! And, he'd probably see me the same way! It's a really scary thought.

goodness......I do not think that this biologist needs to get into this discussion because I would be thinking too much too.

It's all the same. Just different perspectives. That's all and nothing more.

It also depends on format. I doubt that at the time of old cartoon, they could have shown Raph like he originally was.

I wrote a really good fan e-mail to Peter Laird about that, which I believe will appear in the next issue of TMNT! I hope he has something interesting to say in response.

That would suck if answered the question with a response like "too many"
