OT voice cast reunion on Talkin' Toons

Not sure if everyone's aware, but this year is the 25th anniversary of the Fred Wolf TMNT cartoon.

In honor of that, Rob Paulsen is getting Cam Clarke, Townsend Coleman, Barry Gordon and himself all in the same room for a special Talkin' Toons podcast. It will be a live podcast on August 24th. Save the date!

Though SprankyMarky644, I generally think of the 4kids voices for most of the Mirage comics (with the Turtles Forever voices for issue #1), with the I can't imagine hearing Rob's Raph reading Mirage over Frank's and Nolan's, for instance. Archie is a completely different story, as you obviously can't unhear the OT's voices since the first seven issues (including the mini-series) are basically the comic book form of the first seven Fred Wolf episodes....Suddenly, I have the need for new pants.

I cannot WAIT to download and listen to this! The only way it could be better would be if he got James Avery and Pat Fraley too, but that'd be too many people in one podcast probably. This is gonna be awesome!

I hear the original cartoon voice actors in anything turtles. It does not have to be Archie! :twink: Its what I hear the most and like the most so its hard to have the voices change. Now, if the characters did not appear in the cartoon of course its different.


My 2003 cartoon marathon will last just over 8 weeks. It truly allows one to see the positives and negatives of the show.

I hope for a time on the date given. I hate to log on the computer only for it to have already streamed that day.

She was the only one I did not know. I looked her up real quick and it said that she was the assistant voice director for the 1987 cartoon and the director ofr the 2003 cartoon. Some sense of continuity of Ninja Turtles despite the different take. Interesting!

I scooped up this photo on eBay that was also taken at B&B Sound Studios in 1989. Even though it only shows three of the Turtles' VA's, I never would have thought that a giant Turtle figure was ravaging around in the recording studio! I'm not sure how rare these photos are, but I'm sure there are no more than a few hundred, and it seems reasonable to resell these at around this price.

The beard on Peter Renaday screams Splinter and his whiskers, as well as having one arm towards the ground like his walking stick.

Renae Jacobs on the other hand, looks like Renet with her helmet taken off and clocks off of her suit, and always smiles when she isn't worrying or bothered. If there was a VA that looked very Aprilish, it would probably be Vanessa Marshall with her weavy red hair.

Let's not forget though how much Scott Williams looked like 4kids Baxter.

I've watched it, and it was well done, and good question Michelle Ivey about the first licensed TMNT product. It still amazes me when they mention how they had no clue that the Turtles would become such a phenomenon, and all still have their voices done great, even for Bebop and Rocksteady in a hilariously goofy way. There was a mix of information that we already know such as Turtles Forever, along with some new information, such as the reaction to the Bay script.

Wow, I didn't know that Cam and Townsend also were on game shows as well! That makes four voice actors (Cam and Townsend were on Super Password, Barry was on the Dating Game and the $25,000 Pyramid, and Renae was on $ale of the Century and Masters of the Maze).

Since I didn't go, there are still many things that I want to know. I wonder what picture they were referring to when they showed the April for Channel 69 news. Meanwhile, I thank us fans and Rob Paulsen for making such a great event possible.

While I was happy to hear the main cast reunite and talk about the series, it made me kinda sad because I started to realize just how long it's been since those good old days when I used to wake up on Saturday mornings to watch my favorite cartoon. You'll all have to forgive me for being such a sap, but I can't help being a little mournful for my childhood.

One thing I don't understand is why does Cam make such a big stink about playing Leonardo when he also got to play Rocksteady opposite Barry's Bebop? I really wanted to hear them talk about those two characters a little more. Out of the show's entire rogues gallery, they were always my favorite!

I'm sure Cam meant the Leo jabs in jest partially, but yeah...OT Leo was a little too straight-laced for my tastes. I do love the episodes where he was crazy though, like the Tempestra episode.

I definitely would have loved to hear more on Rocksteady/Bebop, and for their voices to have been more spot on, but like someone else said, it's been a long time since they had to do those voices.

My favorite part was probably Cam making jokes at his own expense on the subject of his sexuality. "They made ME play the 'straight' guy for ten years?" and "I'm sorry, I'm distracted here and I'm not even INTO women." almost made me choke on my drink.

I found this video where the Turtles make a special greeting to a very special fan. It does feel a bit sad as this may be the last time we see them together ever again and I'm bummed that Splinter and April aren't featured, but these guys will always be the original Turtles to me. Enjoy!

Maybe it was the realization that the Ninja Turtles and Splinter were really a bunch of middle-aged white guys. The one boy on the left looks like he's about to burst into tears.
