Speculation: Superheroes in Nick's TMNT?

Hey Folks!

Big superhero fan, and of course of the superhero incarnations of the four shellraisers.

So, essentially, there's been a lot of these homages to superheroes. My question is what do you imagine, Nick will do?


Personally, I'd like to see a reference to the Teen Titans, seeing Mike's VA is Beast Boy.

Now the FW toon had a few: Dark Turtle (BATMAN), Super Mike (Superman, toy only), Green Avenger (I don't even know...), and ....Leonardo as a musketeer (stretching it a little).

2k3 Toon had Turtle Titan (Clumsy Captain America/Batman), Turtle Titan Fastforward (More like Ironman), Super Turtles (Basically Fantastic Four), Justice Force (Justice League).

TMNT 2007 - Nightwatcher (nuff said)

Jim Lee's take on TMNT. Leo (Thor), Mike (Cable), Raph ( I have no idea), Don (has a batmanesque)

I want to write an article about these guys one day after I collect more, but I digress.

I like it when the turtles take vigilante identities like the dark turtle, nightwatcher and turtle titan I guess Leo is the only one who doesn't have one so he should get one in the new show.


Other than that I'm not sure I really want references to SH's but instead as much as I hate the idea of superheroes in the TMNT universe, every TMNT universe has had superheroes with the exception of the live action universe so they might as well introduce some type of superhero in the new show. Even the 2007 movie had Silver Sentry show up in a prequel book.

For superheroes in the turtles universe that I really like are Nobody and Bugman, I'd love to see either of those. I can't say I really care for the others.

I'd like to see the return of Gadgetman and Cheeseburger boy from the OT make a return. I believe Vernon was also newsweatherman.

To be honest I didn't like the Superheroes in any TMNT Series. It was just too much "Fantasy" and didn't seem to fit into the TMNT Universe.

Everytime I see Bugman or the Silver Sentry I just ask myself "Why?"

Even the Turtles taking on Superhero Alias' just seems off.

Wouldn't Casey Jones in the live action films technically count?

Casey Jones is not a super hero.

Vigilane =/= superhero

I agree, you don't need superpowers to be a superhero but just being a vigilante does not make you a superhero.

Okay but why does a vigilante like Nobody count but Casey doesn't?

I'd wait until Season 2 at least for Superheroes since we need time to settle down the new tone of this series. I'd prefer original Superheroes like Bugman and Gadgetman in the OT to give the series a unique feel.

I'm all for vigilantes like Nobody and Nightwatcher appearing in the TMNT universe, but when we get superpowered superheroes like Silver Sentry, that's when I lose interest.
