I've just started working on a 80s cartoon splinter and was wondering if anyone has found a good color match for his robe. I realize it's pretty much pink, but couldn't find anything close in the Tamiya or Testors Model Master palettes. As of now, the closest match I've found is Piggy Pink by Apple Barrel.
I've also picked up Tamiya Flat Brown and Linoleum Deck Brown for his Fur but would like something lighter and more of a milk chocolate color. Diluting one of these with white may be the ticket.
Advice/opinions most welcome. :)

Nah, if you want a lighter brown mix in a little yellow ochre, rather than white. That way, you'll lighten it without desaturating the colour...

I made an 80's Splinter a while ago, here it is:

For the pink on the robe, I mixed Testors enamel paints red and white to create that pinkish color of the robe. Use more white though because one small drop of red into the white does a lot.
For the fur I did pretty much the same thing using Testors enamel paints colors brown and white and mixed them around together until I got the desired color.

Yea I once sliced open the mouths of some hollow head figures and took weird pics with them, but I don't see what that has to do with anything here, I was just trying to give arkangel some advice for his custom Splinter.

agreed, yellow is much better to gently lighten the color brown than white.

Great looking Splinter Turtlemaniac and thanks for everyones input. The wealth of information shared here has been very encouraging.
As for Splinters robe, only a true ninja master can get away with such bold color choices. :D

Thank you all, I'm glad you like the Splinter. Sometimes Splinters robe looks more red on the cartoon, a lot of the colors vary from time to time. Good luck on your customs.
