Nevermind, appears to be a Google Chrome issue. Pulls up fine in Firefox.

Thats impossible how do we make our own stopmotion ending?!?!?!?

That digital comic is so small a blurry it make it almost unreadable.

EDIT: Wait, both Eastman AND Laird are involved with this?

It's something I'd love to try, but after seeing that video, I won't have a shot in hell. They'll be so many professional looking videos coming in. But I hope they release some of them to be watched by the public.

Oh, Stop Motion is doable, and I love doing it. But there's no way someone with my *ahem* skills will ever win, so I won't waste my limited time. I hope some on here do it though.

That cover is sick. Too bad my stop motion skills aren't that great. Good luck to whoever wins the contest.

I think for the hell of it, I AM going to enter. I won't have Photoshopped graphics, backgrounds, or smooth animation, but maybe they'll think an 8 year old did it, and give me a prize anyway.

It is better to have tried and failed, then to never have tried at all.

Glad to read it! I look forward to see what you come up with.

Thanks. And it does make me feel a little more at ease about it since the deadline is October 12th. That gives me three months to come up with something. And the fact (if it really is done this way) that the criteria breakdown is judged as follows:

60% Enthusiasm
30% Authenticity/Authentic Sounding
10% Creative/Costume (Whatever the hell 'Costume' means)

Now that's more like it. So yeah, I've got three months to come up with something, film, edit, etc. Maybe I can pull that off.

Definitely tempting to enter. It's been a while, but I've got some stop-motion experience. If I've bought at least the turtles and Shredder, and have enough time to get a vid finished, I'll probably enter.

and it isn't just that the main video they show was anything but great, but that video also has figures used that are either prototypes or just cool customs to add more insult. they really set the bar high with that one.

I know, that's why I was hesitant to enter, but hey, I'm really going to try. And it doesn't necessarily say it has to be stop motion, but that's what I'm going to do anyway. It just isn't going to be as flashy or have any graphics. I mean NO graphics, unless I can learn how to make word bubbles in Window's Movie Maker. That's about as far as my skills will go.

edit: just checked 6 or older

Jester
07-11-2012, 10:18 AM
Does it even have to be stop motion? I mean, the rules talk about getting releases from people featured...
(Edit: Oh, wait, DonnieFan mentioned that...)

Also, gotta love the figure head swaps (or maybe belt swaps) in the cover picture. I mean, Mikey is wearing Donnie's belt, Leo's got Mikey's, and Don, had Leo's.

I hope so. Or maybe I'll enter the contest as a 7 year old. I think as a '7 year old' I could win it.

But hey, if someone doesn't want to enter, but wants to help me out, I'd love some backgrounds for my video...

I have never seen such a complicated contest in my life, that I almost feel like I need some training just to enter. You really have to put down about $50 in figures, and perhaps $100 with some Foot Soldiers, and then if you don't have a smartphone, you're out of luck. Plus, animation is time consuming, and the most liked video even has some voice acting in it, so this definitely targets the skilled. Its a great example of why kids just grow up too damn fast these days; I don't think that anyone under 10 will have the skills to complete this in a way it can compete with the teens and young adults. Why can't we just bring back the survey/simple drawing/short essay type contests back, with sending entries in the mail as an option like it was in the good old days?

I'm really mad. The site is completely broken. On 2 of my PC's the page won't even load (yes, 2 different OS's, multiple browsers, internet security shut off, etc.). On 2 other PC's I got the page to load, but it wouldn't let me submit my age to even load my video. I'm really bummed out, cause I spent a lot of time on my video. I contacted Viacom, and Nick, but don't have my hopes up. :(:tcry::tsad:

If they don't let me submit it, then I'll post it to youtube, and you guys can check it out.

Too bad, we can't use the NECA Turtle figures in the contest. I already have sick scenario mind. Reason why I'm saying this out loud is because I not only don't a camera but the editing software to do this.

Sick scenario mind? Out loud? Don't a camera?

As for software, it doesn't really require much. Stop motion movies can be done with any camera & Windows Movie Maker (which comes with most PC's). Just requires a lot of patience to do it that way.

Jester

And why can't you use the NECA figures? I thought you could act it out with your buddies if you wanted.

Yeah I was on the website Sunday and noticed the same thing. They really don't have their stuff together. I uploaded mine on Thursday and its not even on the site but I got an email today saying I won one of the $50 giftcards. I wonder who won the grand prize.

Here's the link if anyone cares to watch, it was my first attempt at stop motion ever.
