With all the OT influence, is it safe to say Baxter will be mutated into a fly?

The Nick show apparently has more OT influence then originally expected, with Dimension X, Traag, etc. all apparently showing up.

I believe Baxter will do the usual mouser and robot suit routine for the first half of Season 1, and then in the second half he'll be turned into a mutant fly.

I think Baxter would look awesome in CG in his mutated form too.

Well where would the mutagen come from? Its almost always supplied by Krang, the Utroms or Dimension X.

I'd hope so, Fly Baxter was one of the best things the OT came up with, while his tragedy of becoming a robot is alright, I much prefer the mutation angle. A nice transition is while trying to re-create his body he accidentally merges with a fly.

I used to feel that way, too. I mainly knew Baxter as a fly when I was a kid, so seeing and thinking of him as human felt weird to me. Over time, especially after getting into Eastman and Laird's comics and absolutely loving his 2003 incarnation, my preference has changed.

He still is at his core a character on whom horrible misfortune befalls, so I get where you're coming from. I just think that it doesn't always need to be the fly mutation.

Because its a staple of the character. Would you rather Baxter get mutated into some other type of mutant? I'd say hell no. We don't need Baxter to become a mutant Lion or gorilla or something.

Since we already know Baxter wears cyborg armor to fight the turtles, it seems like we could get both incarnations here. He wears robot armor to battle the Turtles for awhile and could get mutated into a fly later on.

On the subject of BaxterFly, while I did like it as part of the OT. I think it would be a waste to just copy it for the new show. I'd be alright if they did it as a one-off for an episode. Maybe Baxter is creating a clone of himself and accientally merges it with a fly. Plus we know that Kraang has a Mutation Chamber or something like that. If its a machine that mutates and not just accidental exposure to mutagen, then maybe the machine can revert the mutant back to normal, so that by the end of the episode he gets turned back into a human.

In fact I like that idea, perhaps he's going to gene splice himself with a turtle so he can learn more about his enemies, but a fly gets into the chamber by mistake and BaxterFly is born.

I don't think it's a given. They seem to be taking what they like from previous versions and reinterpreting some stuff. Considering Stockman's had such different fates, I suspect they might try to do something new with him. He'll probably go through some sort of transformation, but I wouldn't start placing bets on how that'll play out.

What I always wanted to see was kinda mix out of the 4Kids Baxter and the FW Baxter.
He starts out as a normal human who works for Shredder (maybe not knowingly) He then encounters the Turtles many times and all of his Robots, Androids what so ever don't work. He then tries to transform himself into a Weapon by using the Mutagen, but unknown to him a Fly was in the mutagen.
While the effects work and he really gets stronger & faster his body starts to mutate slowly into a fly, while also his intelligence slowly decreases.

Kinda like the The Fly Remake, but dragt out over a longer period of time like: Season 1 Human Baxter & Machines
First Half of Season 2 early experiments with Mutagen on various creatures
Second Half of Season 2 Mutagen on himself with improoved Strengt
Season 3: Slow mutation into a Fly - tries to stop the side-effects
Season 3 Finale: Turtles Encounter the Baxter-Fly

That's what I would love to see on the new Show :)

That's actually one of the main reasons I'd like Hun to come back. He'd create an interesting rivalry with Tatsu, who is deceptively strong, faster, and much less talkative than the blonde brute. I always imagined that, after so many failures on Hun's part, that the Shredder would bring in aid from other branches of the Foot, specifically Tatsu, who, despite the drastic size difference, kicks the crap out of Hun in a matter of seconds.

I've always liked Tatsu. Dude had an anger problem, and he was just generally fun to watch. I especially love how certain characters, like Perry, don't seem at all intimidated by the mother effin' Shredder, but back off from Tatsu with just a grunt.

I think that would be an interesting revision to the characters. Tatsu is the baddest mother in the Foot and if you brought him in to teach Hun (or really any number two to the Shredder) a lesson it would be such an awesome moment for the Fans

Clearly, the Turtles' (and main plot's) focus will be elsewhere for the beginning of the series. Might be interesting to note, however, that the Mousers have appeared really early on in almost every interpretation of the Turtles, usually within the first ten issues/episodes.

I don't disagree here. Mousers never seemed like that big of a threat. Although in large numbers, and given immense speed and jumping ability (or maybe the abillity to zip up walls and drop from ceilings), they could probably have some potential to be more interesting. I wouldn't mind a reimagined mouser, but the original mouser design feels a bit dated after all that's come after it.

The fly mutation itself in the OT was 50's nostalgia. Still, rather than being punished and mutated by Shredder/Kraang/Karai, I would like to see himself do the transformation via a special device as a means to help Shredder, until finding out that the device got lost/stolen at the end of the episode, meaning that Baxter would remain a fly indefinitely.This would mean that it would be his fault, not Shredder's for mutating him unlike the OT, which would mean that Baxter would have more of a "why did I do this" attitude than a "It's all your fault" stance. It is pretty safe to say though Baxter will be mutated/transformed into something given 4kids did it dozens of times.

As an aside. It'd be BEAUTIFUL to see ALL of Shredder's various servants together. A GI Joe franchise onl works when you have Destro, baroness, storm Shadow etc. all vying for Cc's attention (and power), TMNT could be the same.

You could have Karai leading her group of more-elite, Japanese-born Foot Soldiers (And Mystics). You could have Tatsu recruiting Foot soldiers off the streets. You could have Hun and his street-gang of Purple Dragons working propaganda for the Foot. You could have Stockman (and Professor Queaze.. JUST BECAUSE!) leading the Foot's scientific endeavors. Building Technorganic Soldiers to serve their master.

Then, if the Shredder is ever, ultimately, defeated. there could be a Foot Civil War arc where these people fight one another for the right to become The Shredder.
