The Official Technodrome "Favorite Character" Polls & Hub

Greetings, everyone!

Thanks to Krang for giving this thread and system of ordinance the green light.

With all of the 2012 Nick Turtles news and media streaming in at a seemingly fast speed, our forum community has been bustling with topics of discussion, exciting and some leading to great conservations about our favorite franchise. However, we've also suffered from a bit of unorganized thread placement and an array of unnecessary (sometimes even double) topics.

People can complain all they want when another "Who is Your Favorite Turtle?" thread pops up, but it doesn't change the fact that this question will always be asked, mostly by new members who haven't scanned the search engine on the forum. Some fault belongs to them because they have not been entirely diligent, yet at the same time there are no forum rules that state a time frame in topics concerning "Favorite" polls.

So, I purpose a system of ordinance concerning "Favorite" (Character) polls. Seeing as how there are already 2 sans-poll threads asking who your favorite character is/who your favorite Turtle is, I suggest having a one-year duration "official" Technodrome poll/thread for favorite Turtle, and another for secondary characters.

Throughout the year the 2 polls are active, all "Favorite Turtle" threads will now be merged in this central hub of discussion (and, likewise, for secondary characters) if they are subsequently started. When the polls are deactivated in a year's time, there should be a reasonable knowledge gained on the part of the community as a whole so as to not start another Favorites thread for at least six months. After this six (give or take depending on circumstance) month period, another poll can be "officially" started.

So there you have it, folks! Vote and discuss using the links below!

Early childhood, Rocksteady. Late childhood, The Shredder. As an adult, i have to say Leatherhead. It's not easy choosing though, love them all. Can't say there has been a character popping up in the turtles universe that i detested, well i might have, but not to my recollection.

Yeah, but it was sort of a weighted decision. I feel like my personality really jibes with Master Splinter. He was really the heart of the series.

For instance, I liked the moment where he saves the TMNT in the junkyard by driving in there with the Turtle van and blasting Shredder's gang, then remarking... "It's amazing what one can do when one is forced to!" Great line. Plus the early episodes where he went toe-to-toe with Shredder in combat was proof that he was the most bad@$$ of all the characters in the series.

I really like Bebop n Rocksteady in the OT, then Leatherhead in the 2K3 shows.
This latest incarnation, Mikey, hands down. Great character.

For me Bishop is the best villain alongside with Shredder in the 2k3..
Rock steady and Bebop are my favorites in the OT, except for the moments where splinter faces shredder xD

Michelangelo. I love him the most in the 1987 cartoon, but he's awesome in any other incarnations. Shredder and the other Turtles are awesome too, of course.

I prefer the villains from the OT series to heroes. Krang and Shredder are so much fun. My face always lights up when the Technodrome scenes start.
Honorable mention goes to April as she is my all-time favorite animated female character.

Leatherhead would have to be one of my favs along with Splinter from 2k3.
I should really re-watch this show...

Mikey is my favorite from the 2012 series, with Don being a close second.

I just can't decide between Splinter and Baxter, though I only liked Baxter as an adult, while Splinter was one of my childhood heroes.

As a young one, I also liked Wingnut, Jagwar, Dreadmon, Man Ray, Azrael, Ninjara, and Chien Khan, though not so much anymore. There's not really much to their characters, except for being animals that I thought were cool.

Quarry is my other new favourite character as an (alleged) grown-up, though I wish she'd been presented as a female character from the start.

Raphael cuz always was my favorite character from the franchise, and the IDWs version from Shredder and mainly Karai are freaking awesome on this series.

I loved Leo as a kid. Still do. I enjoyed Mikey, too. Raph and Don were kinda hit and miss for me in the OT (as a kid). Loved April in the OT and I really liked the Shredder villain.

2K3, I liked Don and Leo the best. Though I really enjoyed Raph and Mikey, too. Didn't really have a favorite villain, though. Though, I did really like that Monster Hunter episode.

2007, I liked Mikey and Don the best.

2012 is Raph for sure. I just really enjoy all the scenes with him. I like all the other turtles, too (Quite a bit). I don't know, this tends to change throughout shows. Mikey has been growing on me. Favorite villains so far is Karai, Bishop and Fungus. I also quite like Fishface.

Of course, I love April. She was just a really cool character.

And in the NES game (since I spent a lot of time playing that when younger), Mikey was my favorite turtle to pick- because his weapons were so different and the moves were a lot different than his brothers.

Ignoring the main cast, I have to go with Mona Lisa. She was the only "Mutant Ally" from the original series that I ever cared about.

If I had to choose one character that I'd like to see reintroduced in the Nick series, it would be Mona Lisa.

depending on the series/iteration, I go back and forth between Leo and Donnie. As a kid I always identified with Donnie, introvert who always has his head buried in new tech, but as I grew up, and started taking myself more seriously, I began relating to Leo.

Plus who doesn't love a bada** with twin katanas.

I find myself juggling between Michelangelo and Donatello, but I think lately I like Don more. I like him the most in the Nick series, especially because of Rob Paulsen and I think Michelangelo comes off as a little bit slower than he should be. (I still enjoy the Nick version of him despite this)

Favourite turtle is Donatello in every incarnation except 2012. I guess if you want to give me a favourite turtle in that continuity, give me Leonardo.

Secondary characters and villains [who I will roll into one] are a little tougher. My 1987 pick would be the Rat King, 1990 movie pick would be Casey Jones, 2003 pick would be Leatherhead, and 2012 pick.... uh, Leatherhead again. I'd also like to give special mentions to 2003's Karai, April, and Bishop. And Angel, too. OK, just throw the whole secondary/recurring 2k3 cast in here, they're all good.

The sad part is that Donnie didn't really do anything in the 2007 movie. :/ Raphael's my favorite Turtle and I liked that the movie was about him and Leo, but they really shoved Mikey and Donnie to the side. :/

As a kid watching the 80s cartoon, it was Raphael. Because he wore a red mask and red's my favorite color. Then, as I got older, I'm like 'hey, Raph's funny!' And then as other versions came out, I started to realize that Raph is a huge buttface with anger issues. I didn't understand this until I started reading the comics. Raphael's my favorite turtle fo sho ^-^d But it's sometimes really hard to choose when all of the turtles are just so awesome! Leo and Mikey are a very close second depending on which version.

In the OT Cartoon it was Shredder and Krang as well Rocksteady and Bebop but also Baxter was pretty nice but i prefered his Comic appearance, it just fit better to him as the whitewashed Version. Also his personality was way more interesting in the IDW Comics. Way more sinister.

From the Comics i liked Karai pretty much as well Quanin(the Father of Krang), weird way i not really liked the Comic Version of Krang, i prefered the Cartoon one.

Else from the good guys i say Raphael as i can relate to his Anger issues and Aggression on certain situations.

Krang - both Fred Wolf and IDW - has really pulled me in, to the point that I've developed more on him for my tmnt concept than any other character. Which is a terrible situation for me to be in.

I enjoy Ch`rell if only for how hilariously one-note his goals are. It makes me wish we'd been given a more fleshed out backstory to better understand them. To the level that Baxter Stockman got.

Though, it wouldn't be wise to put IDW Krang and Ch`rell in the same room. That would take less than ten minutes to turn ugly.

As for turtles, I feel the need to lean toward Donatello in most versions.

I know I didn't comment on the other movies in the tetralogy, Image comics, Next Mutation, 2K3 or the new movies, but that's because I'm either not familiar enough with these parts of the franchise or simply don't care as much about them.

Just something so admirable in that. And often relatable.

When the others in the last film would be saying "Lets all be human!" he's the one essentially saying, "Hell no. These are the cards I was dealt in life, and I'm going to play them the best I can; no cheating." He won't take the easy rout if it doesn't feel right to him, instead he'd carry the burden and climb the mountain to gain from it later. Admire the heck out of that.

Amazing description, and I agree. Leonardo is also my overall favorite, and I basically love him best in all the different incarnations.

I can't believe I missed out on this thread since coming up two years ago!

Anyways, favorite Turtle depends on the incarnation. More often than not, it's Raphael. I always feel he's got some of the best ideas for storytelling and moments between him and either Michelangelo or Casey Jones are some of my favorites. The placement of Donatello, Leonardo, and the aforementioned Michelangelo depends on version; Mikey and Leo are often neck and neck for second on my end.

As for secondary, I'm going to give a vote to Leatherhead. Can't go wrong with the bestial gator himself. Mirage and with what I've seen so far, IDW, are the definitive picks for me.

All time favorite TMNT character though (unless challenged in the future) is Baxter Stockman.

I loved every single character (even the bad guys) in 2003 tmnt, but 2012 splinter is great. I'd say for most comics, Don's my favorite turtle. In the 2018 it's Don too. But the 2003 Don reigns supreme. My favorite character is Mikey (2003, IDW) but Don is the one character I haven't seen anyone **** up yet, so he SHOULD be my favorite lol. It's either Mike or Don but since I can't chose, I'll say Klunk :tgrumble:
