i love henderson's art. but why the 4 fingers on raph? is there a reason for the additional finger or was it just a mistake?

It was probably a mistake.

4 fingers on Raph? I am surprised nobody caught that before it went to print.

I know. It's the miscolored mask thing all over again.

Yeah but those are just coloring mistakes. How could the artist not know that the turtles don't have 4 fingers?

4-fingered Raph? What the hell?? How did someone make such a mistake, and how did editor let such stuff go? This is ridiculous!

I like the art (I didn't even notice the number of Raph digits) and it looks like Casey wont be fighting lobster people so it feels like a Casey story.

I enjoyed this. I was worried that Casey's book would be the weakest, but it looks amazing. Casey is my favorite non-turtle character so looking forward to this.

Is it too late to fix the four finger fiasco?

I don't think it is that big of deal. I mean I didn't notice it until it was pointed out. Yeah is it a little distracting, but overall it isn't going to ruin my enjoyment of the book.

Not saying it's a huge deal... it's just an easy fix if you have photoshop skills.

Looks interesting, and the extra finger was a fun catch. It's like seeing Phooey Duck, a funny coincidence.

It comes out Wednesday so it's to late to fix. It has been printed for a while. Maybe they'll fix it if it gets a second printing.

Oh, I didn't realize. So the mistake's been there for a while and nobody caught it... it's not like they gave Wolverine an extra claw or anything, but I do find it annoying.

thank you for sharing, tom!the issue looks GREAT!I love te artwork in it(especially raph with his shadow on the wall and the panel where they are climbing up the fire escape ledders!..)the story has me interested on a high note, I didn't even think about we could get to know more about the relationship between casey and his father...so, his fathers name is arnold, too, by the way?;)...also wonder what that golden hockey stick was...
excited once again for this micro issue, congratulations, these comics have all been really awesome reads for me(my least favourite-although it seems I am pretty alone on this one-was donatello)

The four fingers thing is great imo. The comedy value alone as Casey is referencing the amount of fingers he usualy has in the very same panel is great and it kind of reminds me of Bodycount were Simon Bisley would sneak in his own version of a TMNT complete with extra fingers and a strap on shell.

Casey's dad looks like Sandman with the way his hair is and that shirt he's wearing. *lol*
And that couple Casey and Raph saved remind me of Margot Yale and Brenden Quarters from Gargoyles.
As for the 4 fingers thing. It's a bit ironic. Just the other day I was in a chatroom saying how nitpicky TMNT fans are and that if they ever appeared with 4 fingers all heck would break lose (especially since we freaked out over them having 3 toes).

I was thinking Sandman meets Norman Osborn.

regardless of the extra finger.... Henderson's art looks pretty damn sweet. And the coloring here is perfect for his art style. I'm liking this alot. Didn't read the dialogue though... just looked at the pictures til the book releases plus a few days. Looking forward to this micro.

I cant wait to read the rest of this one. I love the back story to Casey and his dad. And as far as the extra finger goes, I think its pretty sweet that it didn't get caught till now. Even more so cause it probable will never happen again.

what struck me as odd is that i've seen a few other of his turtle renderings before and they all had the usual three fingers.

i whole heartily agree. even with the extra finger i still love his art. the colorist did an amazing job to compliment henderson's style. henderson's casey is the best i've seen since E&L. casey is a tough character (imo) to get right. it seems that too many people feel that simply drawing a regular joe, slapping a hockey mask on his face, and a bat in his hand, instantly makes him casey jones. that cant be further from the truth. henderson really catches the CJ persona in his art. he was definitely the right artist for this issue.

The artwork is awesome, can't wait for the issue! Really loving the micro-series. It was a great idea to expand them to include characters other than the turtles.

The artist has a small Tim Sale feel to his work, which is great! Looks like a good issue, the preview pages already have me hooked!

Yet another spectacular micro with one of my favorite IDW artists so far! I give it 4 fingers out of 4! :D IDW's Casey Jones is just one big sweetie, and he just might be starting to grow on me! I do think that it's a little sad to see one of the core concepts from the creation of Casey Jones set aside (he's supposed to be an angry reflection of Raph), but we are definitely getting a more interesting 3 dimensional character, so I'm starting to let it go. I thought this was a sweet story and an interesting look into his life, though if you think about it for too long, it does feel a little odd that Casey interprets his mom's request as "let dad beat the daylights outta you." Just goes to show the kind of bizarre values and upbringing he's had growing up. Excited to see what plans IDW has in store for him! Hopefully nothing with an American flag hockey mask...

just picked this up. Great issue! About the whole finger fiasco (not really a big deal)...the first few pages have raph with 4 fingers and the later pages have him and the rest of the turtles with 3. Looks like someone had a brain fart in the beginning, lol.

A really good issue. I'm glad Casey got his own issue this time around. I'm an old school Casey fan so this Casey has taken a little getting used to. Now I'd have to say he is close to being my favorite version.
I'm going to be putting up a full rundown of my thoughts on this issue later.

Very sad issue, but I loved it. Art, coloring, dialogue all were perfect. I'd say Casey's dad doesn't have much time left in this life if Raph and Splinter have anything to say about it.

Def. enjoyed the micro issue, this is of course by ignoring the glaring 4 finger fiasco on the 1st page :teek:. Anyway the micro series has been hitting it out the park really in the last 2 issues (Splinter & Casey). This issue was very strong! Especially enjoyed the way that they displayed Casey's past & present day stresses/demons.
A strong 4/5 for this one. Only complaint was the 4 finger thing... hopefully we'll start getting less mistakes during this series' 2nd year run.

Excellent read. I enjoyed this one very much. I honestly could care less about the 4 fingers mistake. Big deal. The art was good, especially on the turtles.

Great read and a really interesting take on the Casey character. I'm glad that he is getting some real characterization in the IDW universe.
On a sidenote the Bad Guy, Blake Anders, was I the only one whose immediately jumped to the show Workaholics when his name was revealed? I thought it might have been a nice shout out considering the TMNT episode they did last season.

Yeah I caught that too. Now both universes have referenced eachother, haha. Fantastic.
Anyway, great issue. Really deep, well written & drawn. Nice to see Casey getting his character explored properly, and so early in the series. He really deserves it.

I enjoyed the issue, and how it displayed Arnold's weakness compared to Casey's fortitude.
Something I didn't initially realize when I read the story is what Casey tells the Turtles at the end about not knowing how much longer he can take it. That statement can be construed in different ways, of course, but in my opinion it's a tiny clue to us seeing Casey going bats*** and actually cracking skulls.
Perhaps he' the one who will land a kill and kick off the "Consequences of Killing" arc the second year will focus on.

My review of TMNT Microseries #6: Casey Jones at TMNT Entity. (http://tmntentity.blogspot.com/2012/08/tmnt-microseries-6-casey-jones.html)
Late with this one, as I was in Arkansas all last week.
That was a pretty heavy story. While I wouldn't like issues that incredibly bleak all the time, it definitely had a major impact for coming around when it did. An all around complex story with no easy answers or shallow characters.

'Bout time, Spengs! The timing works out great for me because I just got around to reading this and #12 today. :-)
I think this was probably one of your most thoughtful reviews yet.
