These 2 were commissioned to go with the Mirage Casey I recently made. I've been wanting to make a Foot ninja (or twelve) for a while now, and I wanted to try out some new stuff on Shredder, like casting the armour & helmet...

The Foot ninja was a TNA Sonjay Dutt figure with a WWE figure's hands and Marvel Legends Sabertooth feet. Both heads, the skirt and all clothing details were sculpted in either Green Stuff, Apoxie or a blend of both. The weapons are made from wooden dowel, styrene and jewelery chain.

Shredder was also built on the TNA Sonjay Dutt body, with arms from another TNA figure (no idea which one), fists from a DCUC Doc Midnite and shins & feet from a ML Super-Skrull.
The armour was made by putting down a thin layer of Green Stuff to countour to the specific part, sanding that to shape, then putting a layer of Apoxie on top, into which blades were inset. The helmet was a styrene base sculpted over. I'd planned to mould & cast the armour for future use, but it proved too thin & fragile. All other details were sculped in either Green Stuff, Apoxie or a blend. The alternate Oroku Saki head is a resculpted ML Forge head.

Incredible. Your work is what we should've gotten from the Neca line, and I mean this for all of your Neca style customs, Casey Jones, the Foot ninjas, and all of your Neca Shredder customs.
Good work on these!

I have trouble getting my hands on a NECA turtle set, but I would LOVE to have a NECA style Shredder...

They look great, especially the Shredder. NECA should have released something like this if they had continued the line.

No wonder I could never find any TNA figures -- Customizers bought them all!
But, seriously! These look great, man! That Oroku Saki face is AMAZING, and I am jealous that you were able to make it, first.

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I put a lot of pressure on myself with these customs, they had to be better than anything I'd made in the past, but it paid off in the end. I'll never be 100% happy with anything I make, but these 2 are about as close as it gets.
Amazing work from Disco as always! Let me know if you are ever up for another Shredder commission.

Beautiful work man. You really nailed the NECA look. That shredded is as bout as good as it gets. I know cutting all those tiny styrene blades was a pain in the ass...but well worth it. I'm not really feeling the unmasked shred head. When I see it, it makes me think of Mugen from samurai champloo.

TNA was a professional wrestling outfit. Marvel Toys (formerly Toybiz) made the figures for them, and they're some of the best super-articulated 6" figures ever made. I hoarded them for custom fodder when they were cheap and plentiful...

I'm not planning on making any more Shredders - at least until I can find a way to cast out the helmet, armour & blades. Otherwise it's far too time consuming. I normally spend 12-20 hours on each custom, but it's almost double that for Shredder...
