TMNT Collector's Collection

[TMNT-Collector]

Hello all, slowly but surley I plan on photographing my collection and posting it online. Due to everything else going on in my life (and the size of my collection), this is a very slow process, however I thought everyone would like this piece, so I decided to post this now for all to enjoy. I am happy to say that this is part of my collection. It was not easy to obtain as you all know, it took some time, not to mention some money, but this is without a doubt my prized piece of the collection, the holy grail if you will.

Turtlemania Gold number 4 of 10.

[TMNT-Collector]

wow dude! Nothing but quality !

Thank you, I work hard to expand my collection with the nicest pieces i can find. these are just a few examples, i hope to be able to upload more soon

as for action figures, I have hundreds, along with many vehicles and playsets, i just dont have them photographed, most of them are in 45 gallon bins in my garage because i currently dont have the room to display them, however over the course of this coming year (yes, unfortunately i think it will take that long, maybe even longer), i will be going through them all and photographing them

[TMNT-Collector]

Almost forgot I had these photographed:

Nice! My goal is to also have all three lairs

[pannoni1]

Any collection that starts with the rarest TMNT comic is usually a good sign, and I have had the Leonardo baseball glove since I was five years old. Too bad the pizza offer from Domino's has long since expired, and I don't know if you can not pay full price for a late pizza coupon.

Keep it up, and perhaps show a shot of lots of your collection together!

haha yea, only about 15 years late with the domino's coupons. and as much as id love to take a picture of a bunch of items from my collection all at once, most of my collection is wrapped up and in storage, so these pictures im taking are taken one at a time after i unwrap an item, then after taking the picture i wrap it back up, one day when i am able to display everything i will be able to do that hopefully

here are a few items i got to tonight:

thanks! the cookie jars are some of my favorite pieces.

i store a majority of my items in 45 gallon bins that i store in my garage and shed. each item is wrapped in bubble wrap and carefully placed in the bins. there are over 30 filled bins. i also keep a lot of my collection in a small room in my house. the items in that room are either action figures (all of which are stored in zolo cases), statues (kept in boxes on shelves), comics (kept in bins), trading cards (stored in two 3-ring binders), or little odds and ends (kept in either small bins or cabinets). i have been going through the bins every day, taking each item out, unwrapping it, photographing it, then wrapping it back up and packing the bin back up. this is why i have individual pictures of my items and not one large group photo (this is however something i hope to be able to do one day, i just dont have the room right now). i am happy i have the individual photos though because it helps me better archive my collection. once i finish with the bins i will move to the room i have filled with tmnt items and start photographing those.

the pictures below are of the 45 gallon bins i have, the first is the front of the bins i use with a new retro raphael figure in front of it for a size reference. the second is of what the inside of a bin looks like, filling them up as much as possible is often like a game of tetris. this is a very time consuming process, but for me totally work it.

Wow great collection. Everything's in great shape, loving all the prints.

thanks you so much! yea the bubble wrap really helps in making sure not corners get dented or anything like that while i store them. once i finish getting pictures of everything i have in storage, the rest of my prints should be the next thing i do, so i should be able to get some more of those up in the next few weeks. here is what i got to tonight though:

wow, you really have some great stuff that I owned at one point but forgot about. Where do you keep your collection? Is it on display or just in boxes?

[TMNT-Collector]

thanks everyone! i really appreciate it, photographing things as quick as i can here so i can post more.

wow, you really have some great stuff that I owned at one point but forgot about. Where do you keep your collection? Is it on display or just in boxes?

i actually store half my collection in 45 gallon bins, everything individually wrapped in bubble wrap, and the other half in a room. the portion in a room isnt in any type of display because i have no room at the moment, hopefully one day i will have the room.

i have nearly completed photographing my entire comic/collected book collection and will hopefully be able to post some pics soon, for obvious reasons i will not be posting every comic/collected book (i think i have over 800), but instead will be posting the rare collected books and a few select comics. however if anyone would like to see a scan of any particular comic or collected book please dont hesitate to ask, to my knowledge i am missing very few so chances are i have it

[TheCanadiandrome]

if u ever posted everything u have, you could post on flikr then provide links

http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s509/TMNTCollector/TMNT%20Items/TMNTGloves.jpg

Do you know if the gloves were made one hand only (Leo/Don=Left Raph/Mike=Right) because if they did that would suck because my name (and favorite turtle) is Raphael and I would have to wear Leo or Don (who are my 3rd and 4th favorite turtles, respectively) and nice collection

[Redrumh2o]

What cases/frame are those sketch covers in? Do they hold/protect well? I have been trying to figure out what to do with mine. I have been thinking about CGC just for the encapsulatipn aspect.....I could care less about the grade or label color. I wish they had a cheaper "encapsulation only" slab service

[Redrumh2o]

Also.....is that the Splinter that had a BIN of $125 on eBay??? Im kicking myself in the head for not buying it. I actually posted a link to it on the board instead lol

as far as i know these gloves were only made the way you see them, raphael was not made for lefty's and righty's. i believe two gloves are regular gloves, one glove is a pitchers glove, and one glove is a catchers glove

you can find the cases these comics are in in the link below:

http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products/comic-displays/comic-book-showcase.htm

i have found that they do hold and protect well for most comics. i have found that volume 2 tmnt comics are a little to tall for the cases and do not fit unless squeezed in, which i would not due to not damage the comics. i have heard that these cases do not hang on walls well, but for me i do not have plans to hang these anytime soon so for the purpose of protecting them, the are great. i would just be careful when storing them together next to one another because if they slide against another it sounds like nails on a chalk board and i myself and worried of scratching (although i have done this more then once and no scratching has actually occurred)

Also.....is that the Splinter that had a BIN of $125 on eBay??? Im kicking myself in the head for not buying it. I actually posted a link to it on the board instead lol

it is not the splinter with a BIN of $125, trust me i wish it was though, i paid more then that for it, there were only 2 splinters and 2 caseys that i saw on ebay and the ones that i got are the ones that, in my opinion, came out better then the other splinter and casey that were available

[TMNT-Collector]
