"Mirage Studios Artists to Appear at Shellback Artworks August 11

Steve Lavigne's Shellback Artworks shop will be hosting an appearance and signing with many of the old Mirage Studios crew on August 11. Scheduled to appear are TMNT co-creator Peter Laird, Jim Lawson, and Dan Berger. Michael Dooney may also be present, although he is not currently confirmed.

The event is scheduled from 11am-4pm.

Most of these artists have not been making convention appearances recently, so this is an excellent opportunity to visit and maybe pick up some art!"



I'm going...anyone else? Any CGC witnesses? How are Lawson, Berger, and Dooney with signing? Will they do quick sketches? IDK what to get signed...I'm thinking a blank TMNT cover signed by all of them! I am so pumped!!!

I can see the Mirage crew is doing everything they can to prevent Shellback Artworks from closing. I don't know how he pays the rent.

It was a great event, Dooney showed up as well as Talbot!! Here is my haul

man i sooooo wanted to go, but i had to take my inlaws to the airport and there was no way i could make the trip in time :( even talbot showed up for crying out loud...that just stings all the more. where's the damn cry smiley when i need it!!!

I am sure they will do something like that again....they seemed to have a lot of fun being there....in fact they never stopped talking to each other

I gotta ask,anyone else see Carter on the left corner of TMNT#3 or is it just me? Glad the Mirage Dudes had a reunion. Too bad its likely confined to the Northeast from now on. I thought Peter would only do turtle heads these days. Glad to see its not the case.

It's not just you, there is a sort of Carter look to him. Doubt that had any influence on his design though.

Someone should ask David Wise if he based Carter's design on issue #3.

He even has the same necklace.

Peter did a blog post about the event on his TMNT Blog. Lots of cool shots of the art that the guys did at the event.

(P.S. I'm the "Dude" who got his yellow shoulder bag signed and the girl with the "Enhanced" Vol. 4 Issue 22 is my sister.)
