I added a cape to my sons Nickelodeon Shredder and he wanted me to post a pic. I personally like the cape.

Please say you did something else to him, too. Because I hardly think that adding a cape to a figure makes it a 'custom'. And I KNOW adding a cape doesn't warrant it's own thread. That'd be like me putting Donatello's bo in Michelangelo's hands and saying 'Hey, look everyone, Michelangelo has a completely different weapon now!!'.

But since it's already here, I will say it looks better. Not thread worthy, but looks good nonetheless.

it is a valid LBC/kitbash/upgrade, and it is thread-worthy. Some of the best customs are the easiest. I wouldnt have thought to do that, but it looks great. Now I wish it had come with one. Did you make it or take it off another figure? That is awesome that you were able to do that with your son.

wow, watch for the thread police:lol:

some of the best upgrades and eye catching changes are simple ones! I like it too.

What is the material, looks kinda thick....is it felt? or just plain cotton?

Looks good! And you know, I used to do the same thing with other figures back in the day. My mom made a little purple cape for Gatekeeper Rocksteady that I still have displayed on him to this day.

I like it with the cape. Kinda makes Shredder seem a little more powerful/important.

I like it! I did the same thing, but I used my OT Shredder's cape, it is a perfect fit!

Agreed on all points, including that it is an improvement.

He looks good with the new cape. I wonder why Shredder figures rarely come with a cape, did he only use a cape in the 80's cartoon? I can't recall very often seeing Shredder with a cape.

Come on now, it even says in the title that it is a "Minor Custom", it's not like he's trying to mislead anybody, and it's not even that minor considering that he custom-made the cape himself out of a shirt, although at first glance I thought it was just the '88 Shredder's cape. So this would be more than just a weapon swap. I think it is thread worthy, if he can't post his idea here, then where?

Agreed, I don't believe he was trying to be misleading. Though a better word to describe this project would be "modified". Technically that's what this is. A custom would consist of multiple mods that substantially change the overall appearance of the figure.

But how is one new to this craft suppose to know that? It's splitting hairs really. Was it worth a whole thread? Maybe, maybe not, but it was a nice improvement though :)
