This is awesome!!! Looks like he is only doing one panel which kinda sucks. But there is always his table in the artist alley. :)

soooo much fun you guys!
It was amazing, we searched the whole comic artist ballroom only to find him on the way out. Stupid us, he was at an unmarked, unlabeled table. Not one poster, banner, sign, ninja turtle picture, art, drawing, or prints. It was Kevin at a bare & blank table. He himself was nice and cool to shake hands with.
So if you've been to Dragon Con for 6 or 7 years in a row like myself---DO NOT go in and expect to find Kevin by seeing a backdrop of TMNT or Heavy Metal. Don't expect to see his name above his head or anywhere around him. Don't go in and think "hey he'll have a **** load of turtle prints, drawings, some penned, some inked, some in color! I'll be set." No, nothing but a small book of hand drawn stuff for like $1000 a piece.
Not mad or upset at Kevin in the slightest, just very disappointed in the set up compared to everyone else's there. Guess it was cool if you're brave enough to bring your comics out and around people. But I thought it woulda been nice to have a picture or single print signed or drawn to be framed.
If you didn't make it out, go look at your bank account say hey look at all that money I saved by not buying a badge. Then look at the clock and say 'hey look at that day I still have"

I meant to go to Dragon Con, this year. Then it started, and I realized that I had completely forgotten about it.

I was at Dragon Con. I had a blast. I met Kevin Eastman and got some AMAZING art and sketches from him.
He was not there on Friday but was there on both Sat and Sun. Sun he left early after the TMNT panel because he had to get back to work on the IDW TMNT annual coming out soon which he is fully drawing.
The awesome thing is he was doing sketches if you gave a donation to the heroes charity.
He had the longest line at the con by far and it was packed the entire time. I think I waited in line for 2 hours but it was well worth the wait now that I have all these awesome things signed and these great sketches.
He did a small sketch in each hardcover and a large sketch of Shredder(pic attached) in my IDW vol.1 hardcover edition. I also got a sketch of Raph(pic attached) and an amazing 11x17 of an iconic image (pic attached) that he had redrawn and inked.
I had him also sign a few rare omnibus and hardcovers I had as well as the Neca Boxsets.
On Sunday there was a TMNT retrospective that was standing room only. He talked about the beginning of TMNT to the recent horrible bay script/movie. It was a lot of fun.
I also saw a lot of great TMNT costume and dressed up as Teenage Mutant Ninja Toga one night lol... ladies love ninja togas.

seriously, thanks for that post. i went this year b/c no one from aliens, terminator, predator, ghostbusters was there BUT Kevin was. I got to him ASAP on Sunday. Like I said, he was almost impossible to find due to ZERO banners or posters. Upon finding him, I was told to wait. While waiting I was approached and told "Kevin's not drawing or sketching anymore today". Just made my day. Super happy you posted those pics of all the great stuff you scored. It was cool, I got to watch him draw his last sketch at Dragon Con while waiting in line.

April looks just as good with glasses! I wonder if that's supposed to be Tang Shen behind her?
One thing that irks my mind is that there seems to be a hiearchy of comic-cons as there are literally at least 50 per year nationwide, and Baltimore is having it's comic-con this weekend, but its not that well-known, and only a few minor TMNT artists are attending. I'd consider that a "Tier 3" Comic-Con, where its mostly second hand folks with the occasional bigger star. Tier 3's are basically what a Comic-Con is at its roots and are the most down to earth: a place for buying/selling/trading comics while knowing the start-ups and secondary artists who tend to be more laid-back. Katsucon is another local "Tier 3" con. It's a shame that living in the fourth largest combined metropolitan area that there isn't at least a Tier 2 event around here.
Atlanta would be a "Tier 2" Comic-Con, attracting more notable names and guests along with a bit more media buzz. Philly, Seattle, New England, Orlando, Chicago, and Lone Star comic-cons would also be a Tier 2 in my book.
Tier 1 is basically San Diego, New York, and Long Beach, being nationally known and having the best selection of guests and often having special media promotions (TV series/movies/video games).

Hey, I just wanted you to know I was the emcee/panel runner. I was amazed to see the room filled out, then at the end I learned that there was a waiting list to get in and I was told not many people left that line. I know I saw one guy leave the panel 10 minutes early and saw another person come in! Originally it was supposed to be just a fan panel of me talking, but Kevin Eastman was added at the very last minute. Next year I was told we will be in a bigger room, cause they weren't expecting that many people and usually comic book artists doesn't do panels.
Kevin was amazing to talk to!! And I was honored when they told me that he was being added to my panel. Before the panel, I asked him if there were any questions I should ask or filter from the audience, and he said, "No, bring it!"
He also said he'll be coming back next year!

Wow, those are great Bebop and Rocksteady costumes. Not quite the best (http://www.geekologie.com/2012/03/i-am-impress-tmnt-bebop-and-rocksteady-c.php) I've ever seen, but still awesome.
I wonder if that's supposed to be Tang Shen behind her?
Pretty sure the girl is simply dressing up as a Foot Soldier (c. 2k3 series). A Tang Shen cosplay would be the most obscure thing ever. I don't even think the most dedicated TMNT fans could identify a Tang Shen costume.

It was an awesome panel. I figured they were underprepared due to the size of the line and how small the room was. I remember you saying something about it was a last minute addition, however I am glad it was or the line would have been even longer lol

Yea, the print guide has no mention of Kevin being in the panel, and the title still remained "Fan Perspective" in the app guide. Even some of my friends couldn't get into the panel. My girlfriend came in, but felt bad that other people couldn't get in so she left so other people can get in (she has no interest in TMNT at ALL!!)

Good panel! I just barely snuck in myself, and had a standing room only spot until someone left before Kevin got there. Good thing too, because the people sitting next to me were the ones nice enough to loan me an silver sharpie so I could have Kevin sign my Kindle cover.

I thought it was great for Kevin to sign stuff before the panel! I felt bad when I had to turn people away, but it was GREAT seeing people give up their spot to let other people get a chance. Too bad he had to leave immediately, I'm sure he would've stuck around to sign some more.

Thanks for that post of the vid. Sorry king, if you couldn't tell I was being extremely sarcastic in every post except the first when I started the thread. I was very aggravated at his lack of a set up and not having a choice of any print drawing or sketch. Then, upon arriving at the panel it was full. So your post of how well u racked up really upset me at the time after leaving w just a handshake after buying a badge just for him.
So thanks for vid and apologies for posting like a child back there.

I really hate to sound like a broken record, but the reason of the such of lack of setup was cause he was just a last minute addition (3 weeks before the convention). The panel room was too small cause he wasn't originally apart of it and the expectation was MUCH bigger than convention expected. All of this has been taken accounted for and will make changes for next year. Can't really talk about the comic book artists alley, as I have nothing nor know nobody on how that is ran.
