What are the chances of the second color TMNT series (only 13 issues I believe) being reprinted? Also, would IDW have the rights to the Image series?
Personally I'd love a hardcover of the Jim Lawson color issues.

IDW has the rights to everything.
I would expect Vol. 2 to be reprinted eventually, though not necessarily in hardcover.

Hopefully if the Ultimate collections continue to sell well they'd do Volume 2 in that format. If not, it'll be collected in regular trades.

I think it'd be awesome if IDW took volume 2 and made it Black and White. I'd buy the **** outta that.

Not to pry, but... why?

Aside from loving black and white art... Because the rest of Mirage is B&W, and I own the individual issues, which are already in color.

I too can't help but wonder what it'd look like... Mirage TMNT definitely does look the best in black & white, or maybe I'm just used to it that way. Either way, it would definitely be cool to see.

I dunno, I don't see any compelling reason to take away the one unique property that Vol. 2 has going for it. If anything, I'd throw in Tales of the TMNT Vol. 2 #49 and possibly #57 too to round things out, and then color them up to match.

The Vol. 2 colors are kinda flat. I think I'd be ok seeing it recolored.

Well, I'd expect them to redo it. I'd be all over some Volume 2 reprints, but not necessarily in hardcover.

This would be so cool, but to put a real cherry on it, idw should commission Jim to do the cover!

Also, it worked out great for Shades of Green in the Usagi collection.

Not to take anything away from Jim, but every Volume 2 cover featured a cover pencilled and inked by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Perhaps for the Vol. 2 trade... perhaps it's worth an attempt to get the band together again, if only for a cover?

I gotta admit this idea doesn't thrill me as much as the Color Classics being produced right now, especially since I've already got the original copies of Volume 2 that I ordered straight from Mirage about 10 years ago.

Still thinking about that giant turtle Leo meets in the sewer and that creepy fish-like creature with her egg!
Volume 2 was really a funny and weird thing. Probably not the best Lawson, and the story was weak in the setting too, but it was TMNT in color: that was what made it special. So, if they are going to reprint it, I hope they do it mainteining the original (flat and weak) colors. They are an import part of the work.
Considering they are only 13 issues, it would be cool to see them collected in only one big book.

Talking about vol.2 there's something I have never understood. I mean, how much time does it pass between the first issue and the last one (#13)? If you look at the story you would say just a couple of days, a week maybe. But if you look at Shadow... it looks like some years has passed!

Issue #1: in her cradle, she looks like few months old

Issue #6: learning to walk, she looks like one year old

Issue #13 playing videogames, she's pretty grown up! She looks like 6-7 years old.
Am I missing something here? :tconfuse:

Nobody knows.
Nobody bit the bullet in Volume 2, but I think Mr. Braunze probably has a pretty good idea of what happened in that confusing series-long arc.

I too prefer mirage tmnt in b&w. That's a big part of why I didn't get into vol 2. It just felt too different in color. Kinda cool yet it no longer had that classic tmnt feel.
