Parents should explain the difference between fantasy and reality, and tell their kids to do what "Leonardo" does, not everything that Jason Biggs does.

Thank you! This is what I've been saying all along! Parents should tell their kids that this is a cartoon, and Leonardo should lead by example for them, NOT Jason Biggs. Any parent who doesn't allow their children to watch this because of some voice actor is being ridiculous. Still, I'm still worried about the ratings and viewership this show is going to get since this happened.

Not the most one-sided thing I've seen Fox News do, but they still failed to convey the joking nature of the tweet.

It also really isn't up to Nick (or Jason for that matter) to be babysitting someone's brat. That's what being a parent is about. Watching after your own kid and keeping an eye on what they're doing. Especially when they're fluttering over the internet, not that children should be on major social network sites to begin with. But hey, people love to find someone else to blame.

I love Biggs, and think he's a fantastic actor. Was lucky enough to see him in a stage production of "The Graduate" where he co-starred with Kathleen Turner. That, much like Biggs' twitter, is not meant for children either and not just because Kathleen Turner is starkers at one point.

Having said that, I tried to follow his tweets not long after they announced him as Leo and found that I didn't like his sense of humor, so I stopped following him.

The problem is not that Biggs posts stupid stuff in his Twitter feed. If you like what he says and follow him, so what.

The REAL problem is linking that feed on a site directed at and for children. That was just plain stupid on Nick's part and if they wouldn't have done that the issue wouldn't exist.

I think it will be done now that Nick made the formal response and did the right thing to take his feed down. I don't see him being replaced, nor do I really care.

That was my thought. If he walked in to an audition I would think it a joke. He never did voice work before and considering his body of work is limited to humor that only x people can appreciate. Of all the VAs why him?

If you were to go to a store and the shopkeeper then proceeded to insult you multiple times (whatever your own view of an offensive insult would be), would you not leave the store/not buy anything/not return.......or would you continue your purchase rewarding the shopkeeper monetarily for his offensive behaviour towards you? I think that in the view of the parents it's the same kind of scenario.

maybe so, but you could still let your own children decide for themselves if they want to shop there or not...I know target audience is from very young children up, but still to me the best way as a parent would be to tell the kid all there is to know about a subject and then let it chose for him/herself...

another thing:you don't like jason biggs.I got that from some of your other posts.fine.but here is something you should consider:nickelodeon hired andrea romano as voice director...she surely knows what she is doing, has been in so many legendary cartoon productions...so I think nickelodeon hasn't done anything wrong here...I didn't know much about jason biggs before, I haven't even seen the american pie movies, but I knew that he starred in them...since I got myself aquanited with the voice cast on the new show a little bit I found them to build a very nice chemistry and I geniunliy like all the voice actors actually..have to say they are doing a great job, too in donning the characters a voice to speak with...

True, from a legal perspective anyway. I've got to eat my own words a bit since what I meant to say was something more along the lines of 'what free speech means to me'. Guess I got so into my typing furor that I didn't express that how I meant to.

Anyways, if they remove Jason Biggs' voice and hire a new actor they wouldn't have to redub all 26 episodes over a four week period, they would just have to redub each episode about two weeks before the scheduled air date. Although they probably would try to get them all done as quickly as possible, that doesn't mean that they need to redub the entire season before the first episode airs.

I doubt that they would re-dub all of his lines, although they do have the option. Below are the three things that could happen as a result of his recent actions (I highly highly doubt that the series will be completely cancelled since Nick has invested far too much money in it at this point);

1) Nothing changes at all, Biggs is not fired, the episodes air, Biggs returns to voice Leonardo in Season 2.

2) Biggs is fired, since Nick already paid him for his services his voice is left alone for Season 1, he is recast for Season 2.

3) Biggs is fired, they decide to recast him immediately, his voice removed and replaced.

Based on the current statement from Nickelodeon it seems that they have selected option 1.

You may be right. I guess it will depend on continued pressure and if anything more than just a TMNT Day in Denver being cancelled because of it will happen.

Option 2 seems to be the best all round for everyone IMHO anyway.No more more controversial hiring and he has what he has done aired with his paycheck. All parties get what they want and it goes away forever. Biggs name being a DVD case for a release in time and it all becomes an after thought.I just hope the Leo violated food jokes will disappear too.

I find Jason's actions very disheartening. I was always a fan of his work up until now. I used to think he was really a cool guy, but somewhere along the way he turned into a bit of a prick. Is there any reason for them to wait 3 more weeks until premiere when the first season is already ready?

- Because 9/29 is the date they have put at the end of every single promo and on every single poster/flyer/leaflet
- Because there's still three weeks worth of promos to get through
