Anyone notice the shredder poster in some episodes? Why would you have a poster of your hated enemy on your wall lol.

Obviously it's to throw darts at or draw silly mustaches on. :tlol:

Ha. I have seen that. Maybe they use it for target practice.

Exactly what I was thinking! Although I do wonder if they bought it from a store or one of the turtles just drew it up.

Donnie probably had a camera phone or something before camera phones were actually a thing. OT Donnie could pretty much create anything. He snaps a photo of Shredder during a battle ( Bonus points if he manages to catch an image of Shredder looking stupid right after taking a punch or something ) they take the resulting photograph to a professional and have it made into a poster. Just like that they have a nice new dart board.

As a reminder that your hated enemy is still around to cause trouble.

I never really noticed that, but I assume they did it as a practice thing.

Remember in the recent Amazing Spider-Man that Peter took a Wanted Poster for the hood that killed Ben and penned it on his mirror? Also, how Rocky posted a newspaper clipping of Ivan Drago's image? Both cases are the remind the hero of thier mission and drive them to beat their opponent when the moment comes. The Ninja Turtles proably keep an image of Shredder to remind them of what they do and to drive them totrain harder.

Interesting comparison. But...
Nah, the OT turtles would TOTALLY just keep it around to deface it and throw stuff at it. :tlol:

April: Leonardo, what are you doing?!?
Leonardo: Target-practice...

Haha, I was thinking of that scene and how Leonardo would have much rather had a Shredder poster than a Toaster poster.
Seriously, though, why did April have a picture of a toaster hanging in her apartment. I think getting that building destroyed was a mercy killing!
Toaster poster

You know how April was considered a narcissist in the show? Well, you can't get much more pretentious than thinking a portrait of a toaster is 'fine art'.
Does anyone have an image?

You ever heard of Andy Warhol, of the Campbell's Soup cans fame? :tgrin:

HA! wasn't he throwing lipstick at it?
I believe I saw a Shredder poster in the laird with ninja stars stuck in it during some of the OT series.

The Turtles have used all sorts of images of Shredder to help in their training. They've used a Shredder pinate, a Shredder dummie and even a cardboard cut out.
HA! wasn't he throwing lipstick at it?
Yup. April is a lipstick hoarder. :P

I noticed the Shredder poster wasn't up in season 9, the season he wasn't in.

And why did the lair have a traffic sign in it?
Maybe because teenagers steal stuff like that.

Shredder used to be a male model in his spare time..

I think to answer the OP, its so that the Turtles are aware who they must eventually conquer in order to protect their sensei as well as to stop crime. Its similar to having a most wanted poster in a police station, and in the Turtles' case, Shredder is the top suspect.

As a reminder that as long as the poster is on their wall, Shredder remains at large. NEVER take your mind off your opponent.

I remember in the opening scene of Invasion of The Punk Frogs Michelangelo remarks he envisions a pizza at the end of the obstacle course, but Leonardo suggest a better incentive in Shredder waiting at the end to which Splinter agreed. So it could be in character for the Ninja Turtles to do so.

Burne Thompson also throws dart on a TMNT poster (see "Super Hero for a Day").
