I'm ****ing ecstatic if this is true, means I can actually watch it live.

Wow Nick is going all out here. I think every Friday could be a rerun of last Saturday's episode for people who miss it, it is a clever tactic used before online streaming was invented.

That and it's yet another sign that this Turtle series will go on until the aliens who seed life on this planet come back for the Harvest of Memnon.
Cool. Zap2it doesn't seem to know anything about it though.

Nick is definitely expecting a big hit if they're airing it on two different times lots for kids.
This is fantastic news, I almost feel like I am 8 years old again. Hopefully they keep this Friday slot for reruns of last weeks episodes.

I wish Nick had the rights to do a full TMNT history retrospective before the premier to get people up-to-speed on the turtles. It could cover the original comics, then on through the films and tv series, with interviews and stuff.
But then I remember that this is a kids show and only like 100 people on earth would even care :P

Nick owns TMNT 100%. The cartoons, the comics, everything.
The only thing they don't have the rights to air/release is the original cartoon which Lionsgate holds onto, and Next Mutation which Saban holds onto.
But since those are on DVD it doesn't matter as much.

If this is true, then it's awesome news. I'll have to miss an hour of wrestling to watch it, but it'll be so worth it to see the premiere a day early. I'll still watch it on Saturday though.
According to tvguide.com today, it's "Rise of the Turtles - Part 1 & 2", playing at 7PM on Friday, then 10-12AM & 5-6PM on Saturday on the main Nick channel (all times are Central). So, 1 showing on Friday, then 3 on Saturday.
Zap2it is even more in the dark now. They have it listed as "No Episode Title", and still only at 11AM Saturday.

I was REALLY excited for this until I checked further and found that (at least in my area) it's being aired on Nick 2 on the 28th. Unfortunately, Nick 2 is not in HD for me which sucks because I was looking forward to watching the premier in my theater room. But a SD signal blown up to 100" looks like crap. Guess I'll have to wait for the official premier the next morning on actual Nick. Sadness :(
EDIT: 8pm must be Pacific. I show 10pm Central on Comcast and TV Guide. So It's Nick 2 at a 10pm Central time slot. hmm... I know the official premier is Saturday morning but STILL, I can't help but to wonder "why bother?" when at such a late time slot on a subchannel. It's almost insulting to the TMNT LOL.

Sweet, my Comcast guide usually doesn't show more than a day ahead, but just looked for kids tv shows, and sure enough at 7pm Central, on Nick, it's there. Sure, it's only 14 or so hours earlier, but it's still nice.
Then later that night on Nick2, and the next morning at 10. Starting on Friday the 28th, going through Sunday, it looks like they're showing it a LOT.

I honestly don't know. This is pretty typical for Nick, though, chopping and changing their schedule for no apparent reason.
If they do end up playing it on Friday that would be a pretty stupid move IMO, considering they've been promoting 9/29 for months. Surely they want as many people to watch on Saturday as possible, so they get big ratings? If people have already seen the first ep on Friday, would they bother tuning in on Saturday as well? And how are they going to write the press release once the ratings for Saturday do come in? They can't refer to Saturday as the premiere if they're showing it on Friday first.

My Comcast still says Victorious for that time slot. But I do see on Nick's website where it says TMNT at 8:00pm ET for tomorrow night. That being said, it's only a 1/2 hour time slot for "Rise of the Turtles Part 1." The premier is a 2 parter which they intended to air back to back on 9/29. So I'm betting they're airing part 1 as a "sneak peek" tomorrow night with the full hour long 2 episode premier on Saturday morning. That's cool. I can live with that. It's exciting to see TMNT in prime time LOL!

It might do that, but it can't hurt to check either, yeah. I'm paranoid that if I don't double check, it'll record only tonight's special preview, then skip the Saturday premiere thinking that it's just the same thing again. And if I only get one of them, then I'd much rather it be the premiere since that'll be two episode's worth of content.

Why aren't they airing both eps?
So they can entice viewers to watch twice! And with this move-up, it doesn't look like gobo is going to finish his marathon in time.

So, I very honestly wasn't that excited about this show until the actual thing started. There I sat, giddy as a school-boy watching my childhood show with my own daughter.
The show was awesome! I'm not going to expect to like everything about it. However, it was great. Some things of note, in spoiler tags of course except the first thing:
Anyone else love that the NYC skyline pretty much looks like Eastman and Laird's brought to life in many ways? I got that feeling when they were looking to the actual city.
They hinted at Tang Shen. That makes me happy, but the best part is that we now know Yoshi had a child as well. Only time will tell what this story is.
The turtles' personalities fit their general descriptions, minus the fact that they do in fact act like 15 year old teens.
I can't wait to watch the rest of the episode tomorrow. Should be interesting.

Gotta hand it to the makers of this show, they really nailed it.
The action is great, the humor, the dynamic between the characters, this show is what it set out to be, a solid mix of the best part of all the different incarnations of the Turtles.
Of course every fan is going to have minor personal preferences and small details that they would change but I have to say I am really looking forward to this series. The team working on it are obviously very talented and seem to "get" what makes the Turtles great.
While I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the original series and cell animation and the voices and characters and camp in that show. This may end up being the best Turtles cartoon yet made. Definitely blows the 4kids show out of the water for me.
Here's hoping it runs for a long time.

I'm gonna assume that it's because this "kid" only watched the 4Kids series and the 2007 movie, not the FW series and the movies. I love how he only has a few views, because it ain't good enough to have more.
He's complaining about Splinter's coloring? "Why isn't he grey?" Maybe because Splinter isn't always grey?
This show killed the Turtles? Who the heck is this moron? It's utter rubbish, but it isn't horrible....right. Isn't saying it rubbish essentially saying it's horrible?
You know...why am I devoting this much of my effort trying to debunk some idiot kid whose only exposure to the TMNT is the 4kids series? His video will probably get 10 total views and a few "Ur rite that sho iz carp!" comments.

Also, I feel bad saying anything about that kid, but he actually seems mentally challenged. The way he doesn't actually provide any coherent argument, doesn't provide supporting facts for anything (Oh wait, sorry, Splinter is gray), and jumps from point to point quickly and without any form of organization just doesn't seem like someone that is very intelligent.
If that is the worst kind of person that is going to mock or ridicule the show it would be some kind of miracle.

Those little kids who grew up watching the 4kids show are now teenagers...and now to them the Nick show is a, "new version" not like the one they grew up with.
I hope some of them come to this forum, I'd love to, "educate" them about the TMNT franchise.

The way he doesn't actually provide any coherent argument, doesn't provide supporting facts for anything (Oh wait, sorry, Splinter is gray), and jumps from point to point quickly and without any form of organization just doesn't seem like someone that is very intelligent.

Welcome to America.
I like to think the whole internet is like that at times. No need for stereotyping just americans when it applies to almost everyone!

As am I. Maybe we should get an opinion from some folks overseas lol
Is the first episode available online anywhere? Since I don't live in the USA I can't catch it live at Nickelodeon.

Maybe on the Nick site or try YouTube.
As for the sneak peek, I'm really excited for this show. It was awesome. The voices were great, the humor was in the right places (Splinter is hilarious), and the action scenes were spot on as well. I'll have more to say after I watch the two parter.
And there is a discussion thread made on the episode by Machias Banshee. It just won't open until the actual premiere.

I'm getting a good feeling this will go on a long time.
It looked beautiful and even better then the 2007 movie CGI.
Nick just bought it for 65 Million so I think they have to take it as far as it can go.

I can't believe I never posted my thoughts on this. My bro and I were excited about the premiere. The only thing I can think of was that back then we lived in an apartment with real bad internet and it was easier to work on blogs than it was to check out the Drome.
Here were our thoughts from back in the day, written a few hours after we just saw the hour premiere live.

Honestly, despite how average the game was, Wrath of the Mutants took me back to this.

I still need to play it. Was it satisfying for what it was?

ehhhh
The biggest complaints I had were the multiple off-screen cheap shots and the friendly fire when you throw objects. Like the turtles can't hit each other but they can accidentally throw the items at each other. Plus it just seemed too annoyingly noisy. The Turtles just don't shut the **** up. Shredder's Revenge this game was not.

Yeah combat dialogue always drove me nuts in the 4kids game. Especially Michelangelo…. “eatfeeteatfeeteatfeeteatfeeteatfeeteatfeeteatfe eteatfeet”
Shut the **** up lol

That's the main difference between 80's Michaelangelo and the ones that came after. Mikey was chill, and not annoying. He was never like the 2K3/2012 versions where he annoyed the **** out of his brothers.

Yeah he was kind of hyperactive in the 90’s movie trilogy. But never annoying. I guess 4kids started that.
I played that game yesterday btw. Definitely wasn’t great… but I’ve been looking for it for nearly 8 years and now it’s off my list lol.
