I guess all five of us NASCAR afficianados on this board might find this interesting. Tony Stewart, living legend of various forms of auto racing, was doing a promotional event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway this week and gave the TMNT a little love for the sake of the sponsors.
I've gone to a couple of races in Charlotte in my life, and the track really does a good job on their pre-race shows. It would be cool to see what they do with the TMNT license.
Charlotte Motor Speedway officials also announced that country music superstars Big & Rich will perform prior to the Bank of America 500 on Oct. 13. Charlotte Motor Speedway is famous for elaborate pre-race shows and this year’s will also include world-famous tightrope walker Nik Wallenda, who will walk a high wire from the grandstands to Victory Circle, at times more than 100 feet above the ground, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
“Charlotte Motor Speedway has always been the benchmark for pre-race shows and thinking outside the box,” said Stewart. “Whether it’s jumping school buses or military pre-race shows, it’s always been entertaining. “It’ll be pretty cool to see Big & Rich and I was younger when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out, so that’ll be neat and I know my niece and nephew will like that.”

Ah... makes sense. Although they did do a series of NASCAR Transformers for the Dark of the Moon movie.
EDIT:
Here's an update on some of the TMNT-themed activities:

Looks like they'll have quite a bit of Turtles stuff going on. Get your tickets now to see the TMNT and enjoy a good NASCAR race while you're at it!

Dangit. Why is it that the turtles are being promoted by the drivers I can't stand?! Ugh!! Ah well. It's promoting a good cause at least.
I mean yeah I used to have a crush on Jeff Gordon, but I didn't know better back then. The guy's an idiot and Tony Stewart is even worse. *sighs* :ohwell:
Either way the TMNT portion of the race will be shown on Nickelodeon. From what I understand there's gonna be a race commentary thing done for kids that day. I'll probably be switching between channels to watch.
Jeff's car having the TMNT on it won't deter me from rooting for Kasey Kahne that day. GOOO Kasey!! :D

I would say that I sense a FLAME WAR! brewing, but I just don't there are enough NASCAR fans on this board to make that a realistic possibility.

A flame war? Nah... everyone has their fave driver and the reasons for not liking certain ones. :P In my family we all have our fave drivers (Tony Stewart is my dad's hero... ) but we don't put each other down or anything for it. It's just a slight difference of opinion.

Ya know... I was a little surprised that only Leonardo was featured on Gordon's car as far as I can tell. There are four turtles, after all. And there are also four Hendrick Motorsports cars. Hmm...
Or else, it could be that Jeff just requested they could feature Leonardo on his car since his son's name is also "Leo."

If you're a child of the late 80s and 90s like I am, then I can assure you that Thursday's announcement of Jeff Gordon's special paint scheme for the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 13 was not your run of the mill paint scheme press conference.
This one involved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Remember spending weekends as a grade schooler with not a care in the world watching TMNT cartoons? When you look at Gordon's car during the race, you'll probably have fond flashbacks to the time long before smart phones, *NSYNC and the Car of Tomorrow.
Leonardo dons the hood of the car, which is fitting because he was the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and that fact is not up for debate. Why? Because he had two swords, and dual swords beat out nunchuks, sais and a bo staff in any type of dual. If the Turtles were to ever mutinize against themselves, there's no doubt that Leonardo would be the last one standing. (Nickelodeon, which currently airs the third incarnation of the animated series, is sponsoring the pre-race festivities at the track. No word if any Ford or Toyota cars will run a special Shredder scheme.)
Gordon also promised Thursday that he would breakdance like he did during banquet week last year if he won at Charlotte. Breakdancing and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? That may be too much.

Awesome car design. I like it. Not a NASCAR fan though, so I probably won't be tuning in to this at all.

Tony Stewart (or a Toyota for that matter) should have Shredder on his car, since I hate him and love Jeff Gordon! Unless if my local teams have a baseball playoff game, I'll be watching this, since a win would be good PR for the Turtles. I've never seen a comic/cartoon character on any racecar at a professional event before, so kudos for TMNT being the first.

Unfortunately, I still can't erase the ugliness that was the Cartoon Network Racing Team even after over 15 years:

No matter what ridiculous paint scheme the CN team ran, the car ALWAYS ended up near the back of the field.
Robert Pressley, Jeff Green, Jerry Nadeau, Wally Dallenbach, Lake Speed, Gary Bechtel, Mark Melling, and Darwin Oordt all had their chance to drive those cars to success. And all of them failed miserably.

The TMNT are FAR from the first. If there's a cartoon/comic character to be promoted it's usually Jeff Gordon to do it. Be it Looney Tunes, Transformers, or Zynga (a couple weeks ago his car was sponsered by Farmville  )
Here's Jeff's car promoting Transformers 3 coming out on Blue Ray. For Transformers 3 there was a fun rivalry thing going on. Jeff represented the Decepticons while Ryan Newman represented the Autobots.
In the movie itself there were 3 Nascarformers. Dale Jr, Jimmie Johnson, and Juan Pablo Montoya's cars transformed.

For the last live action Looney Tunes there were several Nascar drivers in it and Jeff Gordon's car had Bugs Bunney on it that year while other drivers had the other characters.

Looks like Jeff Gordon won't be the only driver promoting TMNT after all!
Ryan Newman will be driving the Raphael car at Charlotte.

I'm guessing two more drivers will be announced to run the Michelangelo and Donatello cars. My guess is that it will either be Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., or Kasey Kahne.

The Nationwide (lower league league division) cars are currently qualifying at the track. ESPN2 just showed the Ninja Turtles walking around the infield area. Those costumes really are pretty spectacular!

Well, it's not going to be Earnhardt.... :( He got a concussion from the 20 car pileup last week, and he's out for the next two races.

I think at this point, it's too late for any new TMNT promotional paint schemes to be announced. The race is Saturday night. So I guess it will only be Gordon and Newman who run the special cars.

The race is about to start, and Ryan Newman was rocking his Donatello toboggan hat in the driver's intro interview. He said the Turtles will be going across the stage with him in his introduction. Pretty funny stuff.
