As I was sitting here watching my roommate play some Dragon Age 2 and talking to Jester online I started thinking about different things. It’s amazing where ones mind will go if it is allowed to wonder, anyway to get to the point. I was looking at the board and different threads when the idea came to me, what would a Doctor Who / TMNT crossover be like?

Hear me out why I think this would be a good idea. First they both are IDW comics right now. That means getting them together wouldn’t be as hard as cross company crossovers. Second it could be a really fun way to introduce Rennet into the story. I mean she is a time traveler/alien. It could be fun to make her a Time Lord. Third well it could lead to an awesome story and taking the Turtles into outer space like some have wanted.

So what do you guys think? Would a Doctor Who / TMNT crossover work? Would you like to see it. Maybe by talking about it we can get Bobby and Tom to consider it.

I've never seen any Dr. Who, but it'd be interesting. Heck, isn't Renet's boss Lord Simultanious in essence a Time Lord, any way?

Are there evil Time Lords in Doc Who? Could be used to explain Savanti Romero...though this could muddy the waters...making established Mirage TMNT characters reliant on another franchise.

I love TMNT. I love Doctor Who. I have absolutely no desire to see the two crossed over.

Ok...would you be cool with a non-canon mini? :P

Well 9 times out of 10, the antagonist in Dr. Who turns out to be of alien origin. So in order to make the cross-over work they would have to be Teenage Mutant Alien Turt... WAIT A MINUTE!!!!

There is proof. Michael Bay wasn't ruining the franchise. He was merely grooming it for a Doctor Who crossover! Absolutely fact. you heard it here first!

Also, IDW is picking up the My Little Pony license. Do want MLP/TMNT cross-over. yeah. I said it!

The Doctor could be facing Triceratons, or Krang, or maybe the Turtles awaken a Dalek.

I was only thinking about because it would be an interesting comic I think. Though I can see the potential for a lot of things to go wrong. Mainly which version of the Doctor would be used, would their be companions, and which villain do you use.

I'm honestly not surprised that people aren't to keen on the idea. It was something that just poped into my head and thought would be fun to see what others though.

Honestly I hope IDW doesn't crossover their TMNT with anyone but Usagi Yojimbo.

and honestly I don't see that happening, because wasn't it Pete and Stan's friendship that paved the way for the 4kids crossovers?

Yeah it was always Pete and Stan's friendship that made the crossovers happen. Now that Pete isn't around I don't know if the rabbit ronin will make his appearance ever again.

Hey we got a Star Trek TNG/Dr.Who crossover so why not

Start Trek Doctor Who barely worked...the closes I can see is Utroms appearing in Doctor who, they actually seem like they'd fit. But the turtles themselves would just ne wrong.

I meant to read that and never got around to it. It looked like it could be fun. I might have to look it up, still give it a read. I mean I know IDW doesn't to a lot of crossovers but the TMNT space stuff could be a lot of fun. I mean even if the Doctor was just in the background maybe as a blink and you miss it kind of thing.

Anything is possible, but I also have series doubts will ever see Usagi and the TMNT together again unless Peter decides to actually publish a few more Mirage TMNT books and finds a way to work Usagi into the Nexus tournament or something.

Too bad... many people still probably just assume Usagi is a part of the TMNT franchise anyway.

Doctor Who has more chance of crossing over with Power Rangers than TMNT, but that still works in the ideas favour, since PR crossed over with the Next Mutation group.

:tcouch: "Daleks!"

I wouldn't mind it if it had a good story. It would really work much better in the Mirage universe though than the one IDW has set up. I mean Mirage you have the Doctor show up and help the Utroms get off the planet which means no dropped canister of Ooze which means no TMNT. Renet sees this and goes to a point where the still exist and convinces them that they need to find a way to restore the timeline so that the Utroms still wind up stranded on Earth.

Its an idea, I just came up with it. Its not the greatest and like all crossovers its a bit forced but it would be a way to have it happen and make sense.

That being said in the IDW book I can't think of anyway that the Doctor coming into their world would make any sort of sense, I suppose it would include Krang and the Neutrinos in some respect since they are the characters that are currently on team space, but still I can't think of a way that it would come across as anything but forced.

Hey, but who knows they could come up with a great story that works and prove me wrong, so I will take the stance of being hopeful until proven correct in the event something like this proposed idea ever happens. Though if they make Renet a Time Lord I would be "Done!" right there and then, that would be taking far to much liberty with the canon of Doctor Who

it's possible...

just really depends on the story.

Question, which Doctor does IDW use in the comics? I've seen at least two

I don't think its impossible. Dr who is all over the board anyway. Throwing four genetically altered turtles trained in the art of ninjitsu really isn't that big of a stretch for the franchise.

I would enjoy a crossover if done right. By that I mean, the turtles are great heroes and they don't need doctor who to swoop in and save them with his zany antics, witty comments and sonic screwdriver under most circumstances, since this is how his adventures usually go. the story would need to be setup to where both sides are equally in need of one-another.

I never got into Dr. Who, so this idea wouldn't thrill me. Now a TMNT/Ghostbusters cross-over would be awesome!

Do it! I love what you're doing with the Ghostbusters and the work you've done so far with the TMNT. If you wrote a crossover it would be like mixing chocolate and peanut butter

I've been dreaming of that since I was in diapers. If it ever does happen, someone should probably put me in a diaper before telling me.

Please, God, no.

I'd actually be forced to not buy a TMNT comic.
