I really never liked either at all, most characters in the Red Sky seasons were overdesigned. I did prefer the Technogangsters, though.

The techno gangsters looked like Dregg's specie and more like they would fall under Dregg. It was odd to make the switch. Its not like the bat-men were more effective.

I always assumed that the Technogangsters were attatched to High-Tech as some sort of mercenary group that Dregg had hired. Once Dregg sent High-Tech away his ties with the Technogangsters was severed and he simply replaced them with the Batmen that seemed to inhabit the planet he had landed on to repair his ship. At least that's how I always saw it.
And to answer the question, I think I prefer the Technogangsters simply because they had a TINY bit more personality than the batmen.

The Technogangsters and Hi-Tech I assumed were from Dregg's race if not atleast his home planet because they are all blue insectiods. It appearance wise made them seem more likely to fall under Dregg as his army. The Bat Men seemed random.

The Batmen were Mung's helpers and since it was "all Hightech's fault" (hmph) that Dregg's ship was damaged, he took in Mung and the Batmen as soon as he could as they had been more help then the Technogang in fixing the ship. The Microbots were a big draw as well.

I liked both, but I liked the batmen just a little bit more. I wish I could've had toys of both though, as well as Dregg, Hi-Tech and Mung. Would've been a lot more enjoyable than the "Dino-Turtles" line that was out around that time.

I still wonder if the removal of High Tech was a slap at Rob Paulsen...

I like the Batmen, they remind me of Wingnut from Zach and the Alien Invaders.
