The review is generally very positive and ends with the following statement:
I could ramble on and on about the sharp writing and great animation, but it might be best to put this succinctly: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a really fun cartoon.

That was a pretty pleasant review.

I can see what he means by how the humans not being as well animated as the Turtles and his descirption of April pretty much sums up my thoughts as well.

"This new series, from kids TV juggernaut Nickelodeon, will have a job matching that show in terms of pop culture influence, but, based on this two-part introduction, it should have little trouble surpassing that show in quality."

:lol::lol::lol:

Touche. I'm liking this review. *continues to read*

Glad to hear it! Unfortunately I figured the humans wouldn't look as good as the turtles. Even Pixar wasn't able to do very good humans until around The Incredibles. Most the time you're just not going to get well animated humans with pleasing designs in CG unless you throw a lot of money at the studio.

I think DreamWorks Dragons TV show has kept the humans looking about as good as they did in the movie. But, again, this is DreamWorks we are talking about!

True, but the models for humans on the Penguins show were horrendous (regardless of the quality for the Madagascar films) before Dreamworks could mimic the animation for HtTyD for it's spin-off.

I would think the animation for this show will get better as time goes on.

I love that the Turtles are celebrating their 15th "mutation day." :tlol:

That was a great review, thanks for sharing!

I guess that's why there's so many CG movies about talking animals. :P

I see those dingbats have never watched the old show on a good day.

Oh yeah, the humans definitely still look pretty awesome on the HTTYD show, I was very impressed! I figure with time we may see some improvement with the TMNT humans, as the company learns new things. It definitely won't hinder my enjoyment of the show, as the rest of it looks pretty awesome.

I thought the humans in Next Mutation looked pretty realistic

How Did They See The Show Already?!

Probably from an early screening.

EDIT: What HerpDerp said in greater detail.

How Did They See The Show Already?!

When Nickelodeon (and other networks, for that matter) are about to premiere a new show, they hold screenings or send advance copies to journalists to review and give their opinion. It's good publicity (as long as the reviews are positive).

Is there any review out with spoilers inlcuded?

Look up synopsises of the books released; those cover everything that review mentioned plus more details.

Another review (slightly spoilery, but nothing major):

Again, it's positive.
It's nice that after nearly 30 years of mutant existence, these teenagers haven't lost a step.

beautiful review, herpderp-atello!;)(dubbing you know this way, since it is you who we owe most of the really great information on this new show so far!);)...

It was a pretty good review. Though most the time, I tend to not read people's reviews as I would rather judge for myself. Really looking forward to watching the show.

The new Michelangelo warrants special mention as the obvious highlight. This Mikey is silly, energetic and always enthused; he’s a proper cartoon character.

oh boy. :trolleye:

What's so wrong with that? I actually like how they said those positive things about Mikey.

A brief Toonzone review, with a more in-depth one coming soon (SPOILER - contains screenshots from the episodes):

Again, it's positive.
The two-part opener is perfectly paced, it's a pure blast from start to finish, and there looks to be hints at ongoing subplots to the first season.

Spoiler warning, I guess, but if (like me) you've been watching all the new clips this week, this review doesn't really give away much more than we already know. Nothing that would "spoil" the first episode for you IMO.

It's Nice To See So Many Positive Reviews, I Think This Will Be My Favorite TMNT Series Because I Don't Like It When It's Mostly Silly (Like The OT) Or When It's Mostly Dark And Serious (like 2K3). This Show Seems To Be A Good Blend Of The Two Themes. Saturday Can't Come Fast Enough!
