I can imagine Splinter telling the turtles how unhealthy pizza is, but eating it behind their backs every chance he gets. A running gag throughout the series could be the turtles wondering why so much pizza disappears while they're gone.

Didn't Splinter have a sweet tooth for cake in the 2007 film? Or was that a deleted scene?

It was a deleted scene. Too bad it didn't make it in the final result because it was rather funny and I'm sure if they intend pizza being Splinter's favorite food in the series, it'd be alright I guess.

That was a deleted scene, I remember Mikey having to go get it for him.

Anyway, I think splinter said he wishes he could get pizza delivered down there because it is easy to just have pizza instead of searching for food in the sewers for the turtles and himself.

You can find pizza anywhere in Japan these days and I suppose Hamato Yoshi developed a taste for it since that origin is coming back.
