Who is your LEAST favorite turtle and why?

So, which turtle is your LEAST favorite, and why? My least favorite is Raphael because he is always angry, mean, and he bullys his brothers all the time, especially to Mikey in the new Nickelodeon show. So, who is YOUR least favorite?

Donatello. I've never been a fan of the super smart nerd characters for some reason. Kinda like Billly from MMPR. Never liked him.

Mike is my least favorite, but he's still great. I just relate to the qualities in his brothers more (leadership in leo, smarts in donnie and the hot-headedness of raph)

this thread kinda makes me sad because i don't think anyone outright dislikes one of the turtles assuming they like TMNT in the first place. Yet people could read the results that way, if one is overwhelmingly chosen over the others. Still, it is a valid question

I think Mike will get his chances to shine in the Nick show. It's just taking its time. I think it will turn out similar to past versions of the show... in that Mike is actually the most talented fighter of all the turtles, but his goofiness (ADHD maybe? ;p) gets in the way. It is a great message because a lot of kids can relate to that challenge. So, he is a good role model if and when he can ever overcome his shortcomings and concentrate. In the meantime... he's still really funny!

Agreed. If you dislike one of the Turtles I don't see how you can be a fan of TMNT. You can like one less than the others of course though.

For me though, it depends what universe we're talking about. The subtle changes in their personalities depending on version makes my opinion different.

I'm not asking which turtle you hate or dislike the most, (I like all of them, I just like some better than others) I am just asking which one is not your favorite, or which one you don't like as much as the others

I understand what you were asking and I understand your intentions, it still kinda makes me sad though because it is one thing to ask who is your favorite, but it is another to ask who is your LEAST favorite :p

Raphael, because his "I'm angry and therefore won't take orders because I think I have a better plan even though it's just direct assault" takes up entirely too much screen time across the franchise. When he's written as not that more than he is though, he's fine. Hopefully the new show has moved past it now with yesterday's episode now so they can do something else with him.

With the exception of Fred Wolf Raphael due to being clever and funny, I never liked Raphael that much, since he lacks the fun of Michelangelo, the brains and knowledge of Donatello, and the polished manners of Leonardo. He is basically a troublemaker and is most commonly the root of all problems. I just never got into him as much as the others and I feel that his sai is the weakest weapon out of the bunch. But I hate these kinds of questions since its like asking who is your least favorite child.

Great point on Raph Cyromancer and I agree, I think a big part of S01E03 was to try to say "okay, we all know raph is such a hot-head and it gets out of control so often throughout the franchise, let's just try to get that under control right off the bat" -- you could be right!

interesting trend so far. this is skewing a lot differently than I thought.

i really thought raph and leo would have the fewest votes.

but as it turns out, I think raph tends to be popular more with boys because he's got a lot of the same qualities as wolverine, who is also very popular with younger fans. I understand, because growing up those were two of my favorites! But now that I'm older I appreciate other qualities a lot more.

I sure hope so. I'm worried that he didn't learn anything though since he basically ignored the order to go home, then showed up and saved them by jumping into a battle. He at least learned to try and ignore insults, hopefully.

4Kids? Definitely Michelangelo, although he's my favorite Turtle in the comics and Fred-Wolf toon. Raphael would be a close second, but honestly, I don't find any of the Turtles particularly likeable here.

It changes. These aren't the same characters depending on what you're reading/watching.

Huh, I'm surprised how little love Raphael is getting. He's ties as my favorite (with Don), and I've always been under the impression that he's had a pretty big fanbase. Maybe there's a difference between male and female fans though when it comes to who is or isn't popular. Personally, had to choose Leo as my least favorite. He's always been the sort of boring, good-two-shoes ho-hum whatever Turtle, but after having to stomach my way through the first half of Season 4 of the 2003 series and all his obnoxious emo-ness...ugh.

My least favourite turtle is without doubt Donatello.
In every version of TMNT, he never seems to get my attention.

As a kid watching the 87 series, I rarely noticed him. He was always in the background in my eyes, had the least appealing weapon (a simple "stick" like I used to call it) or was too busy doing techy stuff which wasn't what attracted me to the show.
In the 2k3 series he was ok, but still remained the turtle I paid the least attention to.

His (early) Mirage version was my favourite but pailed in comparison to the likes of Leo and Raph for me.

So yeah, even though the current 2k12 Donnie seems really interesting, my "history" with the character doesn't enable me to change my overall opinion.

My general "turtle ranking" (encompassing all the versions I'm familiar with) is like follows:

4. Donnie

Like others have said, it kind of varies depending on the incarnation, but if I had to pick the one that's usually my least favorite regardless...it's Leonardo. He just sometimes comes across like he has too much of a stick up the bottom of his shell (get it? Eh? Eh? ...I'll stop and leave the jokes to Jester now.) with his obsession about being the leader, for me to really get into him. It's the same reason I generally do not like Cyclops from X-Men.

But I did like OT Leo okay, as he had some personality beyond 'leader dude', and the Nick version seems to be pretty fun.

First of all, I would just like to say that I love all the turtles. It wouldn't be the same with out any of them.
But the Turtle I identify with the least would have to be Donatello.
Sometimes he just comes off as a know-it-all. Although the Nick version is coming off a bit more fun loving. so my opinion may change with future episodes.

Hmm, it feels bad to give a awnser to this question. But, i see it at this point: what would be the least fun comic/serie/movie to read/watch if it's about just one turtle.
..Then I think it would be Donatello. My Reason? I think he's got the least personality to give a one-man show.

I agree Don has the least personality in most versions of the TMNT... but if done right he could be VERY interesting. I think a part of the problem is Don is the smart one, and it is hard to formulate that into a kid's show because it's really easy for stuff to go over a kid's head if it gets too brainy.

They need to approach don like a child prodigy. Go on youtube and look at some of the ultra intelligent kids and teens out there, there's a lot they can mine and put into Don. He might not be the best fighter but he can fight villainy in other ways :D

So yeah, I agree Don feels the least interesting at times but he could really shine if the writing would approach him the right way

While don will probably never be my favorite, I don't think he could ever be my least favorite. I used to think Leo was my least favorite but now I feel like he's maybe my favorite (close tie with raph). it has a lot to do with the writing and how they chose to portray them. the fact that i can never fully settle on a favorite is a real testament to how great all 4 turtles are. each one could be my favorite at any given moment, really!

I'm torn on this answer. On one hand I agree. He carried the title of "5th Turtle" and once you take that into consideration he could easily be considered the worst. In fact I'm pretty sure this is something most fans would agree on. However on the other hand including him on a list of least favorite Turtles kind of acknowledges and verifies his "5th Turtle" title as something legitimate. Despite the title he is nothing of the sort. He's not a ninja and he certainly isn't a Turtle. He's just some kid in one of those TMNT cosplay things you can buy on the shelves of Wal Mart. One of those lame characters they put into shows because they think kids would identify more with someone their own age and/or species than they would the title characters. I've always hated those types of characters.

With that last paragraph you have summed up my feelings on the subject better than I ever could. I could never pick a least favorite Turtle. I love each and every one of them. There are times I might like one more than the others but even that varies series to series or even episode to episode. Picking a favorite or least favorite for me is impossible.

I've always found it very easy to pick a favorite. Not even in different incarnations either. I like each turtle in the same order no matter what book, show, game. The order never changes for me.

I get kind of annoyed with his aggressive behavior sometimes. Like when he throws a tantrum and storms off only to get attacked later on. He can be a bully too especially if someone does something he thinks is weak or not to his standards.

If any one of the turtles were not part of TMNT anymore, I would miss them. They all add a very important family dynamic. Their relationships as brothers is the heart and soul of TMNT for me. I have my favorite, but I get attached to all of them at any given point.
