Do you think Splinter and the turtles will lose their lair in this series? They already live in a subway station.

Maybe they'll lose their lair and move into the sewers?

On the main page it just says 'Will the turtles lose their....'

And I thought this was a completely different thread.

Pretty much the following will happen:

- The Turtles lair will be destroyed
- Shredder will send a robot Splinter after the Turtles
- The Turtles will travel into space at some point
- The Turtles will eventually meet dinosaurs in either time travel or whatever
- The Turtles will battle monsters

This happens in all continuities.

They didn't lose their lair in the Fred Wolf toon.

I'm sure the Lair will be threatened, but I'm not sure if they'll lose it or not. We'll just have to wait and see.

Baxter Stockman did break into it in Season 2 when he captured Splinter when he was human.

Yeah, that really left a lasting impression on the show.

it's possible.
but i hope it doesn't. usually the creators give the Turtles a crappy and cramped space as their first home. only after it gets trashed do they move to a spacious "mansion" sewer. the nick lair is so large and has so much appeal that i don't think that it'll be destroyed completely... even if it is invaded. i'm basically saying it looks to beautiful to destroy. plus... there's a tree growing in there! a tree! how is that even possible!?

What Lampy said. Playmates tooled up a massive playset based off the lair as it is in the start of the show. I doubt it is destroyed, at least for a while.

I don't think that will happen in this version

Personally, I try to explain the discontinuity of the Laird layout between seasons 2 and 3 by the fact that the Turtles & Splinter moved locations since their home's location had been compromised multiple times, beginning with the Baxter Stockman incident and ending with the Cat Woman from Channel Six incident.

If I want to take my in-universe logic one step further, you could say that something similar happened between Season 1 and 2, after the lair had been attacked the Mousers. Perhaps they were making repairs to the original location and temporarily moved into a less decorative location for Season 2, and then moved back to it prior to "Beneath These Streets."

Eh... I'm such a nerd. :tlol:

Since the subway stations are traditionally found above the sewer tunnels, it is possible that an enemy could cause this Lair to debtonate and force the Turtles deeper underground, since I like the scenes where water flows in the sewers. I wouldn't mind an old subway car, SOTO-style though as Donatello's lab if the Turtles remain there the entire series. I would like to see Shredder/Kraang invade the lair at some point before such a loss occurs. But I actually would like to see the orignal abandoned subway Lair get destroyed and force the Turtles to downsize, and mention how they miss their old Lair, yet Splinter tell them that its safer. By then though it would encourage the Turtles to go above ground more, especially once they feel comfortable enough topside.

This show isn't going to be as life-and-death as the 4Kids series was, though I wouldn't totally rule out the possibility of it happening.

I hope not

Yeah, it kinda got old in the 4Kids series...I kinda hope they stay in the same lair.

The worst thing about losing their lair (apart from everything) would be not being able to take that big tree with them.

CG resources -- and the conservation thereof -- seem to be an issue with this series, so I don't see it going away if only for that very reason.

I'd guess not. They have put a lot of time into designing the lair and I doubt they would want to do that again. Also Ciro Nieli in one of the interviews about the show talked about how much he loves the lair and what they have created there, I don't think that would be the case if the plan was just to scrap it.

Personally I don't think that where they live is that important and it was one of the things that kind of messed me up with the 4Kids series. Felt like every week they were living somewhere else. I'd prefer it if they just keep the lair as a constant. Yes an episode where they lose the lair wouldn't be terrible, but I don't think they should be moving around and around.

Though I would be super happy if they wound up in North Hampton for a few episodes.

It makes sense that their lair is just too nice. I really hadn't thought of it that way. However, I very much want to see mousers. They don't have to be now, or even soon, but seeing the turtles hide out for a while would be cool. Maybe in the antique shop...

i don't think they will but if they do it will be in much later seasons hoping it lasts as long as the other series
