That Shellraiser also looks really cool almost being a throwback to the original Party Wagon. I'd kill for a Technodrome and a Sewer Lair, though and these are great additions to your Playmates collections/sets, especially if you want to build street scenes or sewer tunnels.

That's how the shells attach to their backs. It's all part of the brand new shell piece. New elements are very expensive for LEGO to produce.

Yes, you can pop their heads off and remove the shells.


Also, I saw this set list posted on Eurobricks.com but I'm not sure how accurate it is. It seems legit but we should know for sure in the next few weeks especially if these sets are scheduled to be released in Dec/Jan.

Probably a fair estimate. The set that they showcased looks like one that will hold a MSRP of around $39.99. Though actual big box and online retail store price will probably be closer to $30. I heard rumors of a January release for these about a month back. Would be nice if they tried to push them out to make the holiday season.

these sellers usually open the box sets and sell each lego piece individually. frankly I don't know how they keep up with all those individual pieces but apparently they have no problem.
i've purchased parts off there and it was very fast and smooth. i recommend trying it if you need a specific piece or figure

TMNT universe has a wide variety of interesting characters, this is part of what makes it such a great candidate for a LEGO game. If you look at past LEGO games they usually are from series that have TONS of characters like star wars, lord of the rings, batman, harry potter, etc.

Seeing as how Playmates made classic figures, I wouldn't be suprised if they made a turtle lair, a party wagon, the technodrome, and larger scale models of the turtles. LEGO is usually known to do that

Yeah, that's what I meant. There are TONS of characters from all over the mythos that they could pull in for a Lego game if they wanted to, so hopefully they take that cue.

As for a Nick Lego game...eh...I'd rather have a purely Turtles one. I can't say I'd get a Nick one just for the Turtles (though I do love me some Fairly Oddparents).

I really like the detail they are putting into the turtles themselves such as all different chests, freckles on Mikey, and the visible gap in Donnie's teeth (Unlike playmates again, lol)

I like what I see, but it is wrong of me to like some of the things Mega Bloks TMNT did a bit better?

The shells being attached to the body on Mega Bloks versus the detachable ones on these. And Mikey's weapons look awkward just to have the pop-out blades, would rather have just nunchuks. And what is up with Donnie's staff?

Other than that they look pretty cool. I won't be buying any though since I already have a lot of TMNT stuff as it is and LEGO is crazy expensive.

No not really. It is usually pretty accurate to say lego charges about $0.10 a piece.....so take the amount of pieces multiply by .10 and you should get a close price to the set.

Yup it's true... basically look at the total # of pieces in a box... if it is $0.10 or below per piece it is "fairly priced" -- larget sets often have a smaller per-piece average, but not always true.

For example look at this LEGO Jabba's Palace set released this year:

At 717 pieces it has the MSRP of... wait for it... $120!!!

of course the $0.10/piece is just a guideline. The Jabba set has lots of unique pieces and the Jabba minifig alone is quite big.

LEGO always offers a variety of sizes for their sets, but it is always hard to get the minifigs because they spread them out into different sets.

You won't see a set that has all 4 turtles, for example. Probably need at least 2 sets, probably 3 if you want splinter or one of the other high-profile characters like Shredder

Certainly hard to say. The SDCC LEGO exclusives were very limited and seem to maintain value. There are usually very few "limited" TMNT items, and I like to grab them when I can. I grabbed two sets of the 2012 Toy Fair exclusives, and now I can't find them anywhere. Glad to have the Lego set, as the rest should be relatively easy to track down.

Yea, I don't see these going anywhere near $10 either. But I'm holding out for $50-$75. They're already selling for as low as $199 on eBay. The good (and bad) thing about TMNT is that we have a much smaller collector fan base than many of the DC and Marvel characters. That was made very obvious at the last midwest comic con I attended earlier in the month. So if there really are 300-500 each of these bad boys out there, I anticipate that market settling at a much more comfortable price point. But at the end of the day I guess we'll have to wait and see. Maybe I'm living in a delusional dreamworld with too much wishful thinking LOL!

The sets are all looking good, but the Minifigs are looking even better! I am really impressed by them! Lego must be serious about these, it cost's them a lot of money to create new molds and seeing how awesome the Dogpound and Fishface figs look, along with every other new mini fig that they are coming out with just makes me excited and hope that they continue to make some more of these awesome sets... Just hope we also end up with an April, Metalhead, Kraang in disguise and a lot more minifigure goodness!

From what i have heard yes,their was no mention of it being a different version. It is possible i suppose that he might have a different color suit, but info from the well known lego sites out their claim it will be the same version.

We will most likely find out when we get to see the other 2 sets, as one is called Kraangs lab that one must have a Kraang or 2 in it.

I came here to say the same thing. It's really weird that you can't get all four Turtles between the Shellraiser and Sewer sets. They must be wanting to force us to buy all the sets to get the complete set.

Have we even heard of any additional sets that will be coming out? I wonder if Donny will be in a cheap set, maybe some kind of invention table or something.

It's not odd from a business point of view, Lego want to sell as many sets as possible so releasing all four turtles in one set wouldn't make any sense.

Leo is only in the two biggest sets so fans will have to buy at least one of those sets, it might be frustrating to those of us who can't afford the larger sets but Lego will shift lots more this way.

Plus the more Lego sells the better as we might then get a second wave of sets.

Oh and Donny will be released in the Kraang lab.

This is how Lego does it with all their Licensed sets, just like LoTR, Star Wars, Harry Potter etc... They aren't going to put the most sought after Mini figs all in one set. Heck I am surprised they didn't break them all up into four sets... Anyways, to get all the minifigures you will have to either buy all the sets they release, or go on eBay or Bricklink to grab the ones yous really want...

Didn't see the foot with Raph, but I am not all that sure about Leo. Is that supposed to be Lego's version of a rope? We have Lego Pirates of the Carribean pirate ships at the house that use actual rope for the rigging. It shouldnt be anything new for Lego to use a rope...

At first i thought it was supposed to be Bradford, but then i noticed the legs on the figure. Lego are releasing a Dogpound fig who has the correct Bradford legs, so if the guy in the playset is supposed to be him, then why didn't Lego use the Dogpund legs?

When the rumors of a Lego TMNT line started a few sites reported that one of the sets would be called 'Baxter's Revenge', at the moment we have no confirmation of this set being released.

However many sites are now wondering if this will be an exclusive set, Lego has a history of releasing surprise sets so this could very well happen. I just hope a second Donny is included.

It's the fig that will come in the Shredder cycle set, i have been lucky enough to see prelim pics and the cycle is huge. Its mainly black and has flames coming out of some pieces on the top and has a few technic pieces showing, it comes with The Shredder, Mikey and a Foot Ninja.

The Kraang Lab set is really small, it has a Kraang fig inside a big bubble walker a lot like the one Krang used in the OT. It also has Donny, but the cool part of this set is that the Kraang is not just another fig. Lego have made an actual Kraang piece much like the original playmates Krang figure.

Of course as they are prelim pics some things might change, but i have to say that the Kraang piece is superb and i hope they keep it.

Wow you can tell that confidential LEGO document went to print before the TMNT were more finalized... in a lot of the pics they do not have all the paint on the minifigs, and in one pic they actually show DRAWINGS of the figures instead of the actual figures.

Kraang brain in the bubble-bot looks great. I can't wait to own all of these sets!!! Squeee :D :D :D

I spent about $1500 on LEGO in the last year. 2013 is going to be a very, very LEGO heavy year for me as well...

TMNT LEGO. Hobbit (and probably more LotR) LEGO, a few select SW LEGO sets I want (Rancor, clone wars yoda w/ walker, probably 1 or 2 more), the new Legends of CHIMA LEGO which looks fantastic (I"m a sucker for those anthropomorphic animal minifigs)... oh and more DC & Marvel LEGOs (Batman with Mr Freeze and Aquaman, Spider-Man sets...)

My... wallet... is already dead. I can tell it's going to top $2000 very easily in 2013.

And that is not even counting LEGO games such as LEGO LotR which comes out in a few days and LEGO City: Undercover for the Wii U which I am most definitely getting.

Actually, based on the pre-liminary picture I've seen, Mikey comes with the Kraang lab escape set, and Donny is the one that's included with Shredder's dragon bike set. Below is the pic for anybody who hasn't seen it yet.

Both look like they're going to be pretty good sets. I love the fact that Donny is riding what appears to be a cheapskate. If I get these two sets, and the Stealth Shell sets, all I'll need to have a, in my eyes, complete cast, is Leo and Splinter. Hopefully they'll be available in cheaper sets...If the Baxter Stockman set is real, I could see Leo being included in that one. Though I would still want a Splinter...:tmad:
